Jun 2018 - $26.00
We stayed here during the NHRA event June 8 and 9 2018. The campground was in great shape and everyone treated us like family. The improvment in this campground from previous ownership is amazing. The pool was excellent, the restrooms and showers were kept very clean. We plan on making this trip yearly and will be glad to stay here again. - Dalton Bennett
Mar 2018 - $19.00
Large park, rental cabins, lot of tent space, pool, lake to enjoy small playground. Workers very friendly. Some spaces pretty tight, out site not level, interior roads need improvement. overnight pull thrus are long, curved and paved. Water lot of iron, can't drink it. Not all sites have sewer (surprise) they do pump out twice a week. We got about 12 OTA channels. WIFI was decent. - S A K
Apr 2017 - $36.00
We parked in the very front, in what looked like new spots created for short stays. The laundry was just horrible and looked like it was never cleaned. We had no yard but stepped out of our trailer on uneven ground.
Appears to be more of a full time unkept trailer park. We located the dumpsters and it looked like a landfill. The only positive of the park was our view of the lake. Would not return or recommend to anyone. - Tjai Forster

We stayed here two nights with water and electric hook ups. We never ventured into Richmond. Such a beautiful park, secluded and a lot to do. We visited the CCC museum at the park, attended a free outdoor concert in the amphitheater (got lucky they had one the night we arrived) and used the free passes to the pool. The pool is also used by locals and since it was so hot, the pool was crowded. Would defiantly stay here again. - aka4170

It an easy access on/off highway. It has a beach which if you camp here they give you a free pass to the beach. It's a very clean state park and a lot of room between sites. The only downsize is that there is no cable or WiFi. Otherwise, this campground is awesome and would definitely return if in the area. - Roger & Mag

This is a very nice state park. We had a pull-through site that was long enough for our 45' fifth wheel and Freightliner HDT, but it was very un-level side-to-side. Our passenger-side wheels were all off the ground when leveled. There are numerous trails for walking, biking, mountain biking, and even horse-back riding. They are clearly marked and easy to find. However, the bug are vicious. If bugs typically like you, then put your bug spray on first time and every time! I think they were like sand fleas, since most of the bites on me were around the ankles and up the calves a bit. We saw turtles on our walk around the smaller lake, and after a heavy storm - where we lost power for about 4 hours - we found a couple of teeny turtles on the paved road surfaces. Lots of birds, peaceful and quiet, we even saw a racoon. We really enjoyed our stay even though it was 10+ degrees warmer than normal the week we were there. Close enough to Chesterfield to find all the normal shopping, including a Walmart. The price was reasonable considering the area - and we got a discount from being REI members because they're doing some kind of promotion this year. All the sites seem to have a large gravel tent area in addition to the RV space. Very nice, I'm sure we'll stay again if our travels bring us here in the future. Showers were individual rooms with just the shower and a bench, but plenty of room. - Denise and Glenn
Jul 2018 - $43.00
The site was ok,except the sewer connection is located at the rear, we had 30ft of hose and not enough. We asked if we could borrow a used hose as we were there 4 nights, said they didnt have one. The campsites in the back are a dump, pool was green. Convenient to freeway and that is about all. An overnight is fine. - lwabend
Jul 2018 - $43.00
This was a one night stop over while traveling North on I-95. The campground is about a quarter mile from the exit. The site was long enough that we did not have to unhook our 36 ft travel trailer. Site was level, we were able to get plenty of channels with just our antenna, water and electric were fine. They have a dog walk, but not a fenced in run. We would stay here again when in the area. - GCN56
Mar 2018 - $40.00
This was an overnight for us when traveling south and then again when traveling north. Only a half mile or so off I-95 at exit 41, we found the campground perfect for our needs (22' TT and f350). We stayed in two sites, B9 and A8 I think. Sites were somewhat level (nothing a 2x6 wouldn't cure) and average in size. Staff were accommodating and suggested alternate sites that were available. Water pressure, wifi and TV were adequate. We ate at the little restaurant out front the first night and it was a welcome sight so I didn't have to cook! I'm not sure how the campground, rates or amenities compare to others in the area, but for a brief quiet nights sleep it was ideal. - Mark Ramsden
Dec 2015 - $30.00
We were visiting family in the area and needed a place to stay. This was the only campground we could find nearby that was open. When we arrived around 1 in the afternoon, there was a note on the office door that no one was available to call a phone number. We called the number and were told to pick a site that the owner would return after 4 in the afternoon. We drove around the campground where there were large trees and could not figure out where each campsite began and ended or the amenities at the site. We finally parked by the office and walked around to find a campsite. We discovered that they had a paved area where we could park for the night. We pulled into one of the sites, unhooked the RV, and started setting up. The electrical did not work. We had to hook everything up again and try and different site. The second site did have electric, water, and sewer. These sites were in an open parking lot with no trees. When the owner finally came by, she did not have change for cash so she only charged us $30 instead of the usual $35. She told us her husband died in 2008 and she was trying to run the campground alone. It appears that there has been very little maintenance in many years.
We will NOT stay here again. - Athens4me
Nov 2015 - $35.00
Older park not in great shape, but only one in the area open all year. They have seasonals on the wooded sites; we were there only for a night, so they put is in the big gravel lot where you park bumper to bumper with other units and there is very little space in between. But it was winter & wet and we did not get stuck! We would have been more disappointed if we had not read the reviews first, but very little choice in the area for winter! - chasing60
Aug 2011 - $35.00
I was not informed over the phone that cell phones do not work anywhere in the area nor is there a public payphone or internet. There is a lot of alcohol present. The facilities are dirty and in disrepair. The showers clog up. People are charged for use of things including pool which is dirty and is only a plastic lined pool. The sewage hook ups do not properly work and you are charged to dump at dumping station. There are long term campers that are loud 24 hours a day. Refunds are not given. - Dawn-Michelle
