I really think that the ones who gave this park a bad review are expecting too much. If you are going camping and still want ALL the luxuries of home, then buy a coach that has it all. this park is a great place to go and get some peace and quiet. the staff is great and helpful. They will do what they can to make your stay as best as it can be. The wifi is sporadic but if your camping, why do you need it? Disconnect folks and enjoy the great outdoors. Some of the sites are not as level as some would like, but that is something to expect at most parks. It is a tight fit to drive through the park with a big rig. The road to the park is a narrow winding road. It is a state road and not a park road. We've been here twice and will be there again. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

CG is easy access from I-81 with crushed stone roads and sites. We were able to get in and around the campground with our 45ft MH and tow. Sites are long but almost each site has a slant front to back, some more severe than others. We moved around a bit on our site to find the best spot but still had one wheel just barely touching when we put the jacks down. Utilities are well placed and work well. We did not try the cable but WiFi worked pretty well for gentle internet surfing and email. Most sites are in the open making satellite and OTA reception good. The campground is located right next to the highway so there is road noise. We were using our A/C so it was not a problem for us. Did not use the restrooms or laundry so cannot comment on that. The location is very pretty and the owner/staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Spent the night on our way to Asheville. Easy access to I 81 as previously posted. Pool looked inviting, but did not use. Check in was painless, easy, owner was very friendly. We stayed in P4, fairly level, no issues with FHUs, or road noise since we were on AC during the night. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Highlight of the stop was the Shenandoah Caverns right across the street, worth making the stop. After the guided tour of the Caverns, we had lunch in the restaurant, very good, then went over to Route 11 chips for a quick stop and free samples.

Good Sam discount for one night stay at a long pull through, FHU, 50amp, gravel site. Most of the sites have a slight slope to them. We had good Verizon cell and internet reception and good DishTV reception. The park is convenient to Interstate 81 and does have some road noise. The rate is high for an overnight stay, but we would stay again based on the convenient location. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed two nights. Picked this campground as close to Rt81. Rt81 about 300 yards from our site, but no noise. Easy in out, easy for big rigs. Gravel roads, grass w/table and fire ring. New dog park. Grass high, but we are here early in the season. Even with Good Sam discount, I thought cost was high. Would probably skip this campground if passing this area again. This year round park is a regular stop for us anytime we're in the area as we travel up and down I-81. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. There were not many guests here this time, since it was January. The utilities were well placed. Our Verizon and AT&T cell services were strong here, and the free cable TV worked well. All sites have a clear view for a satellite dish. There is a fair amount of traffic noise from the nearby interstate, even with all the windows closed. We will definitely be stopping here again. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in a 36' 5th wheel w/3 slides and a F-350 DRW truck. FHU, pull-thru site (#P-3) was long and wide with good space (grass) between sites; site was gravel and level. 50 amp electrical worked well with no power interruptions. Picnic table and fire pit at site. Interior roads are gravel; wide and easy to navigate. Did not use restrooms/showers; however, ladies room appeared clean. Laundry room was clean - 2 washers ($1.50) and 2 dryers ($1.00). Good reception on our roof-mounted DirecTV satellite and over-the-air antenna; Verizon cell and WiFi good. The campground is right off I-81 so there was traffic noise but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't enjoy being outside. Campground owners are very accommodating; easy check-in; escort to site. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Like most other reviews, this is a very clean and well kept campground. Campsites are laid out nicely and spaced nicely too. Very convenient to I-81 as well; there is some road noise but we did not find it overly loud. Shore power was good, no interruptions, and water pressure was fine as well. The camp store was well stocked and prices were moderate. We had a good time here. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a convenient stop over off of I 81. There is some road noise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The park has a welcoming appearance. Sites are gravel and pull through sites are relatively level. Back in sites could use some attention. The park is in close proximity to local attractions. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Shendoah Valley several times now while passing through Virginia on our way south. Each time we've been impressed with the cleanliness of the park and the care the staff puts into it. Our pull-thru site was more than long enough for our 34' coach and toad, and the utilities were well placed for an easy hook up. There are very few trees, so satellite reception was clear. Our Verizon signal was strong with good data speeds, but our T-Mobile signal was quite a bit weaker and slower. The park WiFi was fairly good, and didn't seem to bog down much as the park filled up. There is some road noise from nearby I-81, but we found tolerable for sleeping. There is a small snack bar in the store with a very limited menu, but the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches were tasty, as were the curly fries. We will definitely be stopping here our next time through. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Our second visit. It was previously a Passport America park but they have dropped their P/A membership which, in my estimation, creates an over-priced park. There is a nice pool, a playground, and one can get meals, but that is available in many other parks for less money. The only thing going for it is its proximity to many of the tourist attractions. On our last visit, we didn't notice much highway noise but many of the trees that created a noise buffer zone between the park and the highway have been removed and it is really noisy with the truck traffic. Once some of the trees in the park have grown up it may be better but we are looking for another park as a stopping off point on our way north. We might stop again but that is not a certainty. Our site was level and offered full hookup and cable. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Was guided to our spot by the host who was kind and helpful. The lay out of the utilities caused us to have to stretch our 20ft sewer hose to the limit. We were in site 12 which placed us very close to I-81. The noise from the road made sleeping very difficult. The park showed a movie for campers which ended at their quiet time of 10 but after 8 hours on the road, I did not want to hear it when it came time to sleep. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

One of the most well-kept campgrounds we have ever been to. Easy off/on Rt. 81. Pull through, back-in, tent sites & cabins. Grassy, gravel surface. Friendly & efficient reservation & check in. Escort to site. Full hook-up services well located & in excellent working order. Strong cable & wi-fi signals. Also strong Verizon signal. Immaculate bathhouse & strong shower. We didn't use the small pool, but it looked clean & inviting. Well stocked camp store & a snack bar. We had their breakfast sandwiches, made to order & they were delicious. It didn't bother us at all, but there is road noise from 81 which might bother those who are sound sensitive. Some comments mention non-level sites. We were in P-1 which was completely level & spacious. We stopped here to recover for 2 nights after dry camping in Shenandoah National Park. We didn't check out any of the many attractions the Shenandoah Valley has to offer, but due to our fine experience at this camp ground, we will definitely go back for a longer visit. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.
