We arrived on Sunday and there was a person to help check us in, they close the office during weekdays. It had rained alot so many of the sites were not accessible with a big rig. The grounds were kept nice and clean. It was a very quiet area, I would come back. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Only about 1/3 full, half that during the week. Overall nice grounds, sites pretty level. Lots of puddles during heavy rain. Nice small river adjacent to campground, good for swimming or just cooling off. Nice nature trails alongside. Did not use pool but looked nice. Bathrooms very clean. Showers ok - cobwebs, etc in corners, but floors kept clean. Some playground equipment and open spaces for kids. Was quiet, but also was not very full. "B" loop had almost no trees, other locations were partially shaded. At the tip of "D" loop could hear a little noise from nearby roads outside campground, but minimal - could not hear inside camper. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a very small general store nearby for basic supplies if needed, otherwise is in a pretty rural area. There are some hiking opportunities nearby in Jefferson National Forest.

Overall Rating:

Its quite a scenic drive through VA farm country to get here but not all that far off of the interstate. Not heavily wooded but there are sights with shade trees. A very well kept clean and quiet park. Pool was nice and the chimneys are pretty cool to photograph. We got in here at mid day to cool off and take a break for the night as it was in the 90s. Electric hookup ran the AC just fine. All in all it makes for a great stopover or to spend a few days exploring the area. We would stay here again . We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were immediately greeted by the campground host upon arrival with friendly offers to help in anyway. The site was firm ground and grass, and was very level and roomy. We also had some shade and noticed many sites with shade. The drive to and from this campground consisted of very scenic country roads through the Shenandoah Valley. Great for the tow vehicle, just go slow in the motorhome. And try not to too distracted by the beauty of the pastoral scenes around you! We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great choice to explore the surrounding countryside plus Stanton, Harrisonburg, and Charlottesville! Drive along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah national Park if you're coming in from the north. Free entry with America the beautiful park pass. And you can just drive a portion of this route, not the whole thing.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful county park between Shenandoah National Park and Geo Washington National Forest. The spaces are really large but not well marked and people park every which way. The signs directing one way traffic within the park aren't very well marked, either. If it's rained or is wet, be prepared for some standing water in the roads and some of the spaces.

The bathrooms need a good cleaning. One of the doors was broken in the women's and the whole thing just felt dirty.

The park has lots of grassy areas, a decent sized swimming pool, playground, bb court, a good number of trees, the natural chimneys rock formations and it was very quiet. Our site had a 50 amp hookup and we needed the long hose for water due to the way the campers next to us were parked. Sewage wasn't marked well. All in all, we would definitely stay here again or recommend it because it was quiet, clean and had spacious sites. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at the park a week. We were just about the only ones there until the weekend. The sites are not well-defined and people park every which way, which when I made reservations I was told I could pull in however I wanted. The electric is a shared pedestal with a 50 amp and a 30 amp plugin. We barely had enough cord to reach it (which is probably why people park horizontal in the site. It was a FHU site and everything worked well. It rained while we were there and we had a lake at the entry to our site. Had to use 4x4 to get into site. Had good satellite coverage, but no AT&T. Verizon MIFI signal was minimal. There is lots of hiking trails and the chimneys and play areas are good. There are no trash receptacles and the only time I went into the restrooms people had put their trash in there. I guess you are supposed to put you trash out by the road and they'll pick it up, although there is nothing telling you that. The office was only open on the weekend while we were there so we couldn't get much info. This is a county park. There is also a big swimming pool that wasn't open while we were there and playing fields. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful regional park maintained by the County of Augusta. The bathrooms are dated but are kept surprisingly clean. The sites are enormous but there are only 10 full hook-ups. We love it there and we both grew up camping there. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of our favorite parks. The closest to Bridgewater. The camp sites are huge and not ruled off. You have a lot of flexibility as to his you set up. They have added 50 AMP service since we were last here a year ago. The park is well kept and extremely quiet. If you are looking for a peaceful, rural setting, this is it. We did not have sewer. The system says sewer is available but I think this is an error. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed overnight here. This is a county park. The sites are all on grass with unusual hookup arrangements. For the full hookup sites: really have put your thinking cap on to vector your rig in and be able to reach the facilities. That said, the sites are roomy and level. Nice playground for the kids and the chimneys are fun to explore. The staff were as friendly as can be, and other campers as well. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Enjoyed our camping experience at Natural Chimneys very much. Campgrounds were clean and well kept. Bathrooms are old but kept clean and freshly painted. There are several hiking trails. The beauty of the Chimneys was awesome. We hope to return there many times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Tent Trailer.

We are camping here for a week over the 4th. As noted the sites are very large, some shaded, some not. The bath houses are showing their age but have been well maintained and are clean. The grounds are clean and the grass looks nice. Because of the holiday weekend the place was full with a lot of extended families. The roads leading to the cg are pretty narrow and winding so caution is advised. This is a good public cg and we will return. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Tent Trailer.

Very crowded and noisy. If you're into kids, loud music from radios several sites away and dust then this is the place. If you want a little piece and quiet, give this a pass, especially on weekends. For a regional park that has lots of potential, this one doesn't quite make the grade. Our electrical pedestal didn't work properly and blew the breaker every few minutes. About 20-30 minutes off I-81. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This is a better than average public campground with the most spacious sites we've ever seen. Most are grassy and a lttle levelling is need in many. Our site was 75 feet by 75! Most others are 50-75 feet wide. We were there in a fringe season and the park was only 10% full but I think they might be full every night in the summer. We were there for the jousting and it was $3 more. It is a very nice campground with nice grassy sites. The sites are big and for the most part level. A few may need a small block or two. The water is good and staff very friendly. We camped at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.
