The office staff were nice and helpful. We were in the woods so no tv or satellite. Our water spiket had no handle so had to use our pliers to turn it on. Looks like they are concentrating more on rentals...need to work on campsites. There are a lot of what looks like abandoned campers/sites. Gives bad impression...need to do some cleaning up. Pools looked nice. Only would go back because it is so close to battlefields and D.C. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

As someone else said there are trashy RVs all over the place but as far as our area it was satisfactory. We were lucky and had a site where I could get satellite; there would be many that couldn't because of trees. There is no wifi except in Clubhouse. It is adequate. ATT cell service is iffy. We stay here to visit relatives but be aware that traffic in the entire Fredericksburg area is AWFUL. Don't plan to get anywhere fast at any time of day. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Pros: Big site, nice fellow campers, nice security staff.

Cons: Many old, trashy, unkept, trailers that look like they were abandoned years ago. Narrow, pot holed, gravel roads. Many unleashed dogs. Unlevel camp site. Utilities on wrong side of campsite. Lady in office was very rude. When I asked to stay an extra night, she said that I should have thought of that when I made the reservation. If I wanted to stay another night, I may have to move to another site. I asked if that site was already reservered, she said no, but because they are a membership "resort" they have different rules. I have been a Coast to coast member for 15 years, stayed at many C2C Parks and have NEVER had anyone treat me like that. Will stay there again only because of location and price. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to civil war battlefields. 5 miles from shopping. Heavy traffic on 4 lane highway entrance. Dangerous to make left turn with long RV and towed due to heavy traffic and high speed on Rt. 3.

Coast To Coast members should stay clear of this place. The site they assigned us had huge drop offs on both sides. Even if you can "thread the needle" to get in there, you would step out your door and have to be careful not to fall in the ditch. Also, the location of the 30 amp hookup was a stretch for my 30' cord, and my connection is on the very back of my trailer! AND the power connection was damaged. I would not hook my power up to it. We left and went somewhere else where we were lucky enough to get last minute reservations. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a large resort and it appears that Coast to Coast guests are assigned to an area that backs on the main road. The back-in sites are level, grassy with a small patch of gravel for parking. 30-amp service max. Oddly, the sewer connection was located near the front of the site on the passenger side of our motor home. With our sewer outlet on the far opposite side of the motor home, there was no way we could extend a sewer line. We stayed here through Coast to Coast. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Motorhome.

Couldn't find bath/restrooms. 30amp only service despite 50amp being advertised. Open Space with no shade at all. Not a good combo in July. :)

As we drove past many owner sites, the one thing that stuck out was how dirty this place is. Grass is well kept and security is good. Very crowded with owner rigs, but most far out of date and in desperate need of maintenance, both site and vehicle. Never again. Why RSI would even want to claim this place is beyond me. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here as a Coast to Coast member. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have trouble finding a site. The first site we were assigned was not close to level and we requested to move. The 2nd site we were assigned was down in a low very wet area with no cell service at all. Our provider is Verizon and the coverage in this area is not good. The last site we were assigned was level but cell service was still spotty at best. Main road through the park is paved and very good. Side roads are dirt. We will not stay here again. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Motorhome.

We have camped here many times with different results. Some sites have been great, others not level and so deep in the woods that satellite was impossible. Overall it is a nice campground and really meets our needs for visiting relatives in the area. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is for Coast to Coast members. We were in Glen 2. Our site was very wide with gravel to park on and grass next to it. There was a table and bar-b-q on the site. The playground across from our site was well maintained and large. Would have given higher rating, but when we took a walk we found a number of other areas that were very run down. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Check in was easy with the friendly staff. When we arrived I did not think we would get satellite due to all of the trees. We were assigned site #295 which is a large open 30 amp full hook up site at Coast to Coast rate. There are many shaded sites. Dish Network and Verizon cell and air card service worked great. There appear to be 10 sites set aside for C2C but not exactly sure, we made our reservations online. There are residential sites and some of them are not in the best of shape. We did not see the stagnant pond but did see the large beautiful lakes. Numerous things to do here. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I have never seen so many old, dirty, degraded, disgusting, broken down and apparently some abandoned campers in all my life, possibly from past permanent residents. Some parts of it looked like a travel trailer grave yard. The pond was stagnant, the lake looked OK. It was awful. The few sites with water/elect/sewer available to camp in are in various areas around the campground; however, they are mixed and mingled with the permanent folks. A few people had fixed up their permanent places very nicely, but they are surrounded by the not so nice. It's ridiculous. People do drive slow in the park, but the dirt roads kick up a ton of dust and within 2 minutes, our car was covered in a thick film. I did not feel safe except when we pulled out of the gate. The presidential cabins looked good, but that's it, nothing else. The staff were nice - so there, the only plus really. We are Coast-to-Coast members but won't spend our $10 to stay there again. It's too scary. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Tent Trailer.

We hold a membership at The Wilderness. We typically make a weekend trip here every month. The overall condition of the property is in good shape. The bathhouses, depending on which one you go to, are in good shape and for the most part clean. There are not any TV or internet hook-ups, but this is no problem for us since we prefer to sit back relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Worst campground I have stayed at in a year of full-timing. Unfriendly office staff. Horrible utilities layout (sewer impossible to use). Looks like a low scale trailer park. Noisy jerk across the way. Only 2 washers and dryers. Only 2 showers. Lots of amenities but the camping stinks. I stayed as C2C. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Though amenities were available (i.e. pool, workout room, restroom), they were a long walk and we did not use. We were there as Coast to Coast members. This is a "member" park for residents, primarily. It is not a great place for temporary camping. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Motorhome.
