This is a beautiful park, we were in our RV and my brother stayed in one of their cabins. It was quite and clean and the staff is so friendly. We will return. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed here several times and really like Walnut Hills and the people who run it. It's great for a quick overnight stay (easy access to (I81) or a family vacation. There are sites around the lake or up on the hill. The sites near the lake are rather short, so be sure to give the length of your rig when you call. They have big rig sites near the entrance and we've seen Class A's use that area a lot. Lots of wooded, quiet space to walk dogs. We haven't had a chance to use the pool, but it looks very nice. Just a short drive to Stuart's Draft for restaurants and groceries. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 days and were very pleased. Staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and informative. There is a pool, lake for fishing, game room, clean restrooms, large dog park and Wifi. Our site was way too small for our 18' camper and we had to park our vehicle in the visitor site. This was our fault though, because it was a last minute reservation and there were only 2 sites available. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean and friendly park. Bathrooms and showers appear to be reworked as they was spotless and clean. Cable will only work on digital TVs unless you put a deposit down for a converter box which is explain to you at check in. Also they refund the money when you return the box. Wi-Fi is typical campground slow and spotty. The real reason for a low rating is that the roads are narrow and tight so with the big rigs be careful. Also sites are small for the average size camper if towing . Water and electric at front of site. Would stay again . We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

This is formally a KOA, now some private owner. The facility is great, rolling hills, etc. I will say that the pull thru sites on 'the hill' take some serious guts to maneuver in a 45' coach. Take it wide and slow and you'll make it, but I'd advise the owners to consider making those roads much wider. Big Rigs: maybe just ask to stay on the flat part near the entrance? Up on 'the hill' is just a bit too difficult with a 45'/13' I'd say. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

This park is so pretty with all the trees, creeks that run through the campsites, a nice pond and swimming pool. It has a nice campstore and the staff were very friendly. When we arrived there had been lots of rainfall from the Florence Tropical Storm and we had reserved a site that backed up to the pond, but asked to be moved to a site on higher ground which they accommodated. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

We are halfway through our two months trip across the United States. Of all the campgrounds we have stayed at Walnut Hills is the very best. Even though the weather was not what we would have liked, it was still very scenic and peaceful. We were backed right up onto the lake. There were a few ducks swimming by, and occasionally someone would throw in a hook with a bobber on it. Being a weekday in September, the park was not very full. But the spaces were large and accommodating. We didn't use the swimming pool, but it was large and very nice. If we are ever back in this area, we will definitely stay here again. What a ripoff! We have stayed here over the years, but the park is now a Good Sam Park and the price was sky high. Supposedly we were in a Premium Site, with a patio, old nasty grill and a swing. Not worth the money. Water and electric were about 30 feet to connection. My 25 foot RF cable was to short, so I bought a 50 footer to watch TV (severe weather in the area). Sewer was at about 25-30 feet. Required both of my long hoses to connect. Roads were nearly not navigable with big rig and towing. They stressed speed limit at check in a couple of times, but not road conditions and low hanging branches. Power, water and sewer were at max distance of hoses/cords. No satellite, but they did have cable. We won't return, will find another campground priced more reasonable. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

eazipser, manager at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) responded to this review

Those sites are a hundred feet long with two sets of hookups. Additionally, our rates have remained the same for the last two years, so there has been no change in price after the conversion to Good Sam.

An absolutely beautiful site with lovely grounds. You can tell there is pride in ownership. There are a variety of sites in the area, some around a pond (with adorable ducks you can feed--and they are well fed), while others are up a hill. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have equipment which can be rented, such as volleyball and corn hole, etc. Did not use the very pretty swimming pool. One of the prettiest sites you probably will stay at. It is a little windy getting around the campgrounds itself, but everyone drives slowly. There is a fenced in dog park which is terrific. Walnut Hills is a beautiful campground with a variety of sites and cabins. The staff was very friendly and helpful! There was always someone around if you needed anything. The Doll Clothes Cabin was a hit with our daughter. Carin truly enjoys making the beautiful clothes for the dolls. It was a pleasure to chat with her. The bathhouse and restrooms were very clean and nice. The playground and pool were great! The dog park and disc golf were nice added touches.
