Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $45.00
There isn't much to do in the off season. Our dog enjoyed running in the dog park. You don't get a fire ring unless you ask, and they just put it on the grass. Sites are fairly narrow. If you're passing through, it's a good place to stay, but as a destination, not a good choice. Our site was nowhere near level. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

We love this park. Recent interior roadway paving has made it even better. It's close to Colonial Williamsburg and lots of shops and places to eat. If they would cut a few more trees that are too close to tight turns and have some limbs too low, I would rate it a 10. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A beautifully laid-out park with carefully designed sites offering a sense of privacy because of the lay-out, and a variety of amenities depending on what you want to pay. We spent a week there in late September and although they had a good number of visitors coming and going, we never felt crowded. Tall trees in some areas gave plenty of shade while lots of open grassy spaces also gave a country feeling. They have carefully developed and maintained hiking trails through the surrounding woods, enough for a good 30 minute walk in several directions. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Will definitely return and feel comfortable recommending this park to senior couples as well as young families. It's a great all-around park. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $34.00
We stayed here with a group and the price may reflect a group discount. Park was clean, sites were a little tight for a 40' MH but doable. Our living room slide was at least 6" into the side of a bush, but the bush didn't scratch it. Pine trees dropped a lot of pine pitch on our roof. Other than that, it was an enjoyable park. They have a nice office and store with a good selection of gifts and decorative items. The pool and water slide are big attractions for the kids. They sell discount tickets in the office for local attractions. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites at this campground have a level concrete pad and adjacent concrete and asphalt paved patio and parking area, all in great condition. The campground roads appeared to have been recently resurfaced. Most sites near the front of the campground were shaded while sites near the back were more open. Sites are not large but adequate, especially if you are visiting to explore the area rather than hangout at the campground. Both pull through and back in sites are available. Utilities were in mostly good condition although several sites contained what appeared to be two sewer connections and it was not clear which one to use. Cable channel selection was extensive although the coaxial cable connection was in poor condition resulting in reduced picture quality. We enjoyed this campground and would stay here again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
We were in row 4. We had a concrete pad and it was very level, hence, a very easy set up when we got here. Staff is friendly. Rest rooms were clean, laundry room was adequate. No activities for kids, but they have a pool and a giant inflatable slide. We would definitely camp here again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Have been here several times in recent years. Each time is a better experience. They do offer "premier" sites that have patios, table, chairs and umbrella with a gas grill, on each end of the rows. Those on the far end are located on the opposite side of the RV. Earlier this year, they paved all the roads in the park. This was a great change from the dust that used to come from the roads. We arrived after hours and our site assignment was on the board. Driving down to the site, we found someone else already on the site and had been there for some time. The adjacent site was empty so we drove back to the office to confirm no one else was scheduled to arrive that evening for that site. We set up and checked in with the office in the morning to inform them of the error. They offer a huge "Hippo slide" for kids and family at an additional cost. The pool is of descent side but can get crowded easily on warm day. A clock in this area would be a great addition. New playground equipment too. The road leading into the park is very narrow from the main road, and if you dont look closely, you could easily drive by. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Rate with Good Sam discount. Enjoyed this park very much and would rate it higher except the ladies' restroom/shower did not appear to be cleaned during our four night stay (same bits of paper, leaves, elastic hair bands, etc remained on floors along with dirt for days). Otherwise, we liked it a lot for the very large green space for dog walking and the full facilities such as propane. The attractive premium sites with grills would be fun to book for cooking together if you were traveling with friends. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.
Pricey. Stayed one week. Asphalt interior roads, sites asphalt and concrete. pull-through site had low hanging branches. The wife watched to see if they would do any damage. After parked climbed on the roof and small branches were rubbing on the roof and A/C units. Called office was told someone would come out. After 30 minutes cut them ourselves put branches on picnic table which were removed the next day. When walking around the campground did notice some interior roads and other sites need some branches cut back. Was glad we were put on a site on the end of a row (site 9). Farther in and it would have been an adventure getting into and out of a site with our rig. Was an adventure even getting out of the site we were in. HDT and trailer (60 ft combo). Little tight, skinny interior roads. In the back of park, interior roads are gravel. Park unfortunately allows campfires. Out of three super nice cool nights was only able to have the windows open one of those nights due to smoke invading our home. Cable TV and Wi-Fi was excellent. Very quiet park, had great electric, water pressure, and sewer. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
As the previous review noted, the interior roads are paved. Sites are level. Concrete pads and parking area for tow vehicle. Large dog run area. Found 2 trails for walking. Excellent place to camp. We definitely return! We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.
Stayed here in the fall of 2013 and the park was very nice then. Now there have been many improvements making the park one of the best I've experienced. Paved roads and concrete pads with designated, paved parking area for your vehicle. Office staff is excellent who where great, going out of their way to accommodate our needs. The ground keepers also were friendly and spoke highly of ownership's efforts to improve and expand. Landscaping is well maintained and being continued on the new sites. Internet connection was good so I used the facility WiFi. My husband used our MiFi. There are trains nearby, but it wasn't a negative for me, I love trains. I would stay here again and have already been recommending it to friends who are meeting us here in a couple of days. If you're in the area, you should check it out. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Site pad was concrete, level, with some shade, & small patch of grass. Sites are narrow. In area where we were, the lanes are paved. Laundry and bath houses were clean. Convenient location to see area attractions, but too cramped for long term stay. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
One of the best parks we have stayed in. Park is run by a husband and wife. Very friendly and very helpful. The bath house is wonderful. It is the first park we have ever been at that I witnessed that the cleaning lady cleaned the walls and floors in the showers and the toilet area. She did a wonderful cleaning job. The walls are tile as is the floors. Very nice design layout. The showers you can control to the temperature you want. Big shower area with individual rooms for showers and you can lock the doors! The only thing of a complaint, if you can say this, is the sites aren't very large for kids to play around but they have a wonderful outdoor pool and lots of play area around it for kids. They will bring you a fire ring if you ask but again not much space. I would surely recommend this park as a great place to go and enjoy. It is close to everything! We just loved it We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Recently paved roads, all sites have concrete pads and patios, some with patio furniture and grills, and all well landscaped. Restrooms clean. Wi-fi would go on and off without reason but strong when available. Biggest negative for me was lack of parking for my toad; site just wasn't big enough for both. Additional parking was available at end of the road. Overall a nice campground. We stayed here in a motorhome. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.
One of the nicest campgrounds i have been to. Concrete pads, paved roads and area around pad. Level easy access to all hookups. Some sites are tight to each other but nothing to complain about. They were working on additional sites and upgrades all day long. It was nice to see the care they take in doing it right. The nicest bathhouse I have seen by far.
