Camped during beginning of snow storm & low temps. Water froze at stand pipe. Left after 1 night. Site was level concrete but electric post & Water standpipe were at the rear & long reach to wet bay. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

It's been a while since I've stayed at this RV Park and they have made one Hugh improvement and that is they have paved nearly all of the interior roads. Would have given a better rating but the nearby railroad noise( whistle, etc.) is pretty loud at times. Granted the park has no control over this but it does detract from the enjoyment of your stay. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quiet, clean, well run and very helpful personnel. A great place to use as a base for seeing the historic triangle. We have a 50 amp, pull through site, with full hookups. They have cable but we used Dish Network. We have stayed here before and recommend it highly. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take time to see Shirley and Birkeley plantations. We also enjoyed the Jamestown Settlement, original Jamestown, Yorktown and Colonial Williamsburg. We are here for a week and we should have scheduled two.

We opted for a premium site which had a patio and table and chairs. While our site was level, the decline getting into the site was very steep, so much so that I had to get out twice to make sure the coach's exhaust wasn't going to scrap - we had about 2 inches to spare. Sites and roadway were nicely paved. Front office staff helpful and courteous. Having stayed at two other campgrounds in the area, we definitely prefer this one. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a top notch facility that makes a perfect home base for exploring Colonial Williamsburg and the surrounding area. Roads are asphalt and camping pads are concrete. We had a premium site (#29) that was nicely landscaped and included a fire pit, patio furniture, and a charcoal pit. Grounds are kept spotless and well manicured. The bathrooms are worthy of a custom home. Wireless was very reliable but just a tick slow. Staff were friendly and helpful. We spent a whole week here and enjoyed the campground. We will definitely return! We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here as part of an RV rally. This was our first stay at a full service rv park. It's very nice for what it is, but we prefer to stay at state parks it local campgrounds. It's a great set up for a rally. There's a club house for group gatherings and a pool. Also some nice hiking trails. Even though the sites were close together, the layout was such that we felt we had some privacy. Restrooms were exceptionally clean. All the amenities of Williamsburg are nearby. We spent a day hiking at nearby York River State Park and would recommend it. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Fun hiking and mountain biking at nearby York River State Park.

We stayed a couple of nights while visiting the Williamsburg area and would recommend this park. We did not have a car but Hertz was close by and picked us up. The park is on a short side-road but easy to navigate. Sites were clean and roomy. Although this park is fairly close to main highways and the railroad tracks, we did not notice any excessive noise. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Really nice campground! All the interior roads are tarmac and the sites are cement with grass alongside with a table. I also liked the layout. It's not the "typical parking lot style" like so many are, it was more scattered this way and that, which gave you a better since of space & view. Lots of shade trees too. Their WiFi was secured and I got good reception. The cable was a bit fuzzy for the major channels, but that may have been us (?). Super nice people too. No complaints here. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Even if you don't do the pricey Williamsburg, there are lots to see and do around here to keep you busy for a week! You have Jamestown & Yorktown that don't have to cost as well as wonderful lighthouses in Virginia Beach to seek out. Of course, if you are a WWII buff (like my husband) you will want to see the USS Monitor in Newport News and stop at the US Army Transportation Museum en route back!

This is a beautiful park and easy to get to from the interstate. The road leading to the campground needs some trees trimmed but that's not something the campground can control. It's close to the historical sites and nice and quiet. The front area is all paved with lots of trees. Some turns were a little narrow but nothing to really worry about. Our site was in the back, which was gravel with gravel roads. They're still working on the back area. The picnic table at our site had one warped plank which was bent way up making that part of the table unusable. This park is a 9+ and we would definitely come again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss Historic Jamestown and the Glasshouse. We were disappointed in Colonial Williamsburg. It was very expensive and not as historic as the original Jamestown site.

We love staying here. Close to so many historical areas, shopping, and good restaurants. I would rate it higher, but they need to raise the canopies on several of the pine trees so they aren't hitting the top of the RVs and the bushes in the middle of the sites makes tow vehicle parking tight. We will definitely stay here again (and again). We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is about 15 min from downtown Williamsburg. Most sites have nice shade and ample space. There are walking/biking paths in the tree area that were nice. The pool is large, clean and lots of lounge chairs. They also had a large blow up water slide for an extra cost that the kids seemed to enjoy. Park was quiet and had good cable and Wi-Fi. There is a back section that seems to be an add on that is not paved and has only baby trees. That is the only area we would have not wanted to get. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We missed the sign for the park. There is a small sign by the street and the larger sign is behind trees and blocked from sight until you reach the road into the park, so keep careful watch for it. We ended up in a dead end at the railroad tracks. Had to unhook our tow car and back up one mile as there was no place to turn around. Site nice, but neighbors park in front of their units on narrow streets and make it very difficult to pull into or out of your site in a class A. It does not appear that management is ensuring that cars are parked in their site. Management friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms and showers. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

I guess I expected more. Park roads have signs that indicate to swing wide to make turns which is fine if there is not a car parked in such a way as to make the turn difficult. Sites are narrow and getting into and out of them can be problematic. Pool, clubhouse and laundry are clean but old and dated. Staff, at check in and during several visits to the office, seemed to always be having a bad day and were not at all friendly. I would find someplace else to stay if I returned to the area and I think this is the first review I've ever said that in! We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.
