Had a little snafu with being assigned a site in the wrong area of the campground. I was a little frustrated at first because I had called ahead to discuss where the sites were that where associated with the different types of sites online. After speaking to a woman at the campground she assured me that when I booked if I gave them a list of preferred sites that they would do their best to accommodate them, and she assured me she would make sure the site was roomy enough to accommodate our superslide. We submitted about 10-15 sites in the E section, but when we arrived they assigned us a site in the D section. I expressed right away that it was in the incorrect area, but they told me that was roomier for our slide. We were escorted to the site only to find they were really close together. We told the escort that we were unhappy with the site. He headed back to the office and got the site reassigned to one of the original requested sites we requested. Once settled we were really pleased with EVERYTHING else about the campground. Bathhouses are clean and beautiful, pool was lovely and clean - bounce was fun, and the zipline playground was a blast. Staff was friendly & helpful. We were fortunate to be there when the campground was mostly empty and most of the time we had the pool to ourselves which was great! Wish this campground was closer to my home - we would definitely stay again! We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Clean RV site, very friendly staff with lots of amenities for the kids (pool, jump pillows bike rentals etc), however everything else was crazy expensive. Ice $4/bag Firewood $8/bundle etc. Small store but again super expensive. The reason we camp is because it is cheaper than hotels/motels but in this case there were cheaper hotels. Unfortunately won't stay at this campground again and will look elsewhere in the area. We have been to the area 3 times now and this campground twice. Our last time wasn't this expensive. We stayed here for over a week. It's a nice park and very close to Colonial Williamsburg and Williamsburg activities. Firewood they sold us was still a bit green and made A LOT of smoke. Had to get wood elsewhere. Otherwise, for the most part, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed on the quiet side and paid for an extended stay. If you visit their website the campground looks amazing and the amenities galore! But what they don't tell you is the family side is the only side that has all of the amenities. You are not allowed to use these when you stay on the quiet side. The internet service is terrible, if you can connect at all. The owner assured me that it was going to be upgraded on a specific date, but upon talking with other tenants that had been there awhile, I found that they too had been given different dates and nothing had been done. The sites are nothing but mud when it rains. We drove through the family side and it was so much nicer. I would probably recommend staying on that side, but I sure wouldn't approach the owner with any complaints because you will get absolutely nowhere. When I complained to the owner, he gave me 24 hours to vacate the premises and he hung up on me. When I tried calling back, he refused to talk. This was my first experience with a KOA and it will be my last. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Williamsburg is a very nice town in Virginia, however, I would not recommend staying on the "quiet" side at the KOA. The family side is much nicer but, it's off limits to those on the quiet side.

Great place to stay. It is near a lot of things in Williamsburg. It is a big campground, but did not seem crowded. We stayed on a premium site with concrete and pavers. Great people at the front desk, it was busy but they handled it professionally. The only thing I could say negatively is the price. It is too expensive. We stayed in the deluxe cabin, our kids and grandkids stayed in their tent. We had low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The cabin was perfect! The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are very clean! The tent locations were well shaded and had everything needed for a great stay. Organized activities, pancake breakfast, games for the kids, and a great pool. We would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Cabin.

This was a park close to Colonial Williamsburg as well as Yorktown, and Jamestown. Also near Busch Gardens. It was quiet and clean with nicely treed sites, plenty big enough for a motorhome.

There are lots of things for kids to do, a nice heated pool and play areas. The store stocks basic and gift items and conveniently sells tickets to attractions at a discounted price. There is no need to wait in lines to buy tickets. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Motorhome.

This campground is trying really hard to be the RV resort of choice for the "Historic Triangle" of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. Clearly there's a prize to be won with all tourists coming in from Washington on the north and Raleigh/Durham to the west. So they have laid out an attractive park, with pretty much everything an RVer might want. They're building cabins for the RVer wannabes. They have a pools and a nice set of play areas for the kids. And they'll sell you passes to all the parks in the region. I definitely would return if I come back this way again. So why am I lukewarm on the park? Besides their very high off-season resort pricing! Maybe they're just trying too hard. I could never find the relaxed feel of a comfortable campground. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We had a great experience. Granted, there were not many sites filled as it was the last week of December and it hovered below freezing all week. But, the staff was extremely responsive and friendly, the sites were well groomed, the bathrooms / showers were very clean, there is a Walmart 5 minutes away (which we needed supplies from), and it is close to area activities. They also upgraded our site since they closed a back section due to low occupancy. We took a Cab and Uber most places, and it was not expensive to do so. We will definitely be back when the weather is nice to take advantage of the site's amenities. Only negative was the amount of dirt-dust on the sites, but that's out of their control. We stayed on the Quiet Side over the Labor Day weekend. Great check-in and escort to the site even in the middle of a torrential downpour. Nice level corner site. A little snug for a 37 footer but with some placement the camper and truck fit. The quiet side worked for us because we were not traveling with family. Very peaceful. We did visited the Family Side and it is larger in size and many more activates for family members. Close to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Clean bathhouse and great Staff. Had deluxe patio site which was very nice with brick patio, brick fire ring, round table with umbrella and swing. Site was gravel back in and level. Had 50/30 amp service, water, sewer and good cable. WiFi was good. Plenty of activities for kids. Campground was well maintained. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Close to I-64, but no road noise. Will stay there again. Only had slight problem with low hanging branch in driveway. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Motorhome.

Close to Williamsburg attractions. There are two sections of campgrounds, Colonial and Williamsburg. Colonial is good for kids with activities. Has a nice pool area. Williamsburg section is quieter.

Overall Rating:

I think I would have had a different experience if I had stayed in the "quiet" side. At $77 per night, I expect a lot. The Colonial side (the one I am in; I was not aware of "the other side") is full of families, and looks to be the hip place if you have kids. I do not. Mine is all grown up. So this is kinda unpleasant for me. I can't get into the pool because there are (I counted them) 22 kids in there, and anymore, that's just too much spit and snot for me. The kids are running about having fun, and being kids, and that's loud.

I would have liked the option to be on the old fuddy-duddy side, but that wasn't given to me. Now that I know, I'm bitter... grumpy old fart, lol. The pool looks nice (although a bit murky now at 4:30pm), lots of fun things for kids. But don't stay here if you're retired and looking for peace. Lots are spacious and offer some shade. Site surface was gravel and featured a fire ring, picnic table and patio.

THERE IS ANOTHER SIDE, the Williamsburg side. Avoid the Colonial side unless you have the grandkids with you. OH, my site was NOT level, it is graded to the right. The cable is good, but I only have 1 bar for Atnt, and I work from "home." There was a bunch of dog-food dumped in the driveway I had to clean up because my prissy dog can't have that kind of food. We camped at Williamsburg / Busch Gardens Area KOA in a Motorhome.
