This is a nice convenient park right off of I-81 at Max Meadows, VA for a quick overnight stay. Sites are gravel and level with full hook-ups. Very convenient to a Pilot Truck Stop for fueling and a Denny's for breakfast. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We have used this as an overnight stop many times and have never been disappointed. The campground is clean, the staff friendly and helpful, hookups all work well, and the grounds are well kept. It is an easy on / off from 81 /77 with a Flying J right at the exit. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We always stay here to and from our winter destinations. Excellent CG. All utilities work well. Great overnight stop. It is amazing to watch this place fill up every night. Close to I-81 but no road noise. Would highly recommend We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $33.00
Nice campground. We've stayed here before. Sites are not too close. Lots of trees for shade. Restrooms were older but had been redone. They have a pool that closes the end of September. We will stay here again. The price reflects the Good Sams discount. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $35.00
Stayed here for 5 nights in a 44' 5th wheel toy hauler. Quiet campground. Sites are a bit tight/close/narrow in the "open" (no trees) section. Staff was friendly and helpful. Water pressure was 40ish PSI. Cable and Wi-Fi worked well. No highway noise even though it is only about 1/2 mile to I-81. Good Mexican restaurant close by. Not many families with kids during the time I was here (mid-Sept). Great location to use as a base for motorcycle rides on the wonderful back roads in the area. Would stay here again. Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $32.00
Very accessible RV park from I-81. Exactly what we were looking for for an overnight stay. Mostly pull-through sites. Ours had a concrete pad. Minimal (nonexistent) privacy between sites. Very clean washrooms. Friendly staff. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $34.00
Camped in 45 foot motor home. Interior roads and site drives are mostly gravel with some having cement pads. Easy to access sites. Free Wi-Fi was very fast. Satellite TV was possible from many sites, but trees blocked some. Free cable was available. Verizon cell phone had 4 bars. Easy access from I-77/81 with almost no traffic noise. Very friendly office staff. Easy in and out. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This park is a nicely run family campground. The pool was always busy, and the park had a small pond for fishing. It is pet friendly. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The laundry room was clean. It was also very quiet, being away from the interstate, but still an easy drive over to the campground. On weekends when it is busy, the sites are very close, but through the week they try to space the RVs apart. We would stay here again if in the area. A very nice RV park. The facilities are clean and well kept. All utilities worked as expected. Cable TV has 62 analog channels with just OK picture quality. The sites are somewhat small and some are a bit out of level. The park is just off I-81 about a mile with no road noise. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Nice park located near the interstate but far enough away so no road noise. Very popular overnight park so you may want to call ahead. Generally starts filling up around 3 PM. Main road is paved, interior roads and sites are dirt/gravel. Large trees between each sites but did not impact rigs. Proper placement of our rig allowed us to get satellite signal. They do have one section next to the pool that has no trees. Good cable channel lineup and free Wi-Fi that is adequate. Spaces are almost all pull-through and most are adequate in length to hold big rigs. Spacing between sites is grass and gives you ample room. It can be a little tight on the inside spaces when you go to leave if the space in front is occupied. This is our second stay here and I would highly recommend. If you are 40 ft or bigger and they put you on the sites with the concrete pads on the West side, you may want to back out of them. Some people were hitting their back hitches trying to pull out forwards. Too much of an incline pulling out forwards. If you look at the concrete slabs you'll notice scrapes. Nice campground otherwise and would return again. Rate reflects weekly rate. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a well managed campground. Everything works as advertised even their street lights. The road into the park is on asphalt and has a large pothole so you will need to drive carefully. The interior roads and sites are on packed gravel. Most of the sites are pull-thrus and the utilities are in the appropriate place. There was 20/30/50 amp electrical service. The voltage was strong, hovering around 124. Most of the sites were fairly leveled. There were some long term residents but they were along the outer edge of the campground. The pool was nice – could have been a little warmer, but that is personal preference. There was a bathroom with 3 showers per sex. The office had a decent selection of camping needs plus a book exchange. The laundry room had 4 washers ($1.25) and 4 dryers ($0.50). WiFi was available but we did not use it. Verizon air card and cell phone worked well here. We would definitely come back to this campground if were in the area. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We liked this park and stayed 2 nights in a 33 foot 5th wheel. It was serene and bucolic, surrounded by farm land - cows included. Our site was a gravel pull through with a picnic table on a concrete slab - 50 amp, water (good pressure-used a regulator), sewer and cable TV. Very nice. The staff was friendly, it was tidy and quiet with easy access to the interstate. The bathrooms and showers looked very clean, although we did not use them. The laundry also looked very good. Our Verizon signal was good. Our only complaint was the Wifi. They have it and we saw at least 3 antennas in the park, but connectivity was very poor, intermittent and unreliable! It really is time for RV Parks to have decent wifi. It should be as important and as reliable as electric. We would stay here again. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is an overnight park right off I-81. Easy in and out, nice competent professional staff. Decent sites. Nothing fancy, but for what it is, a great place to stay. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
