This is a very nice park with no cable tv, or satellite reception due to the large trees throughout the park. When I made the reservation I requested one of the few spaces in a clearing with no trees, so I could get satellite reception. They booked me in a super site surrounded by trees. I tried my roof antenna for local tv reception, could not pull in any stations. Their cable company upgraded to digital, and they did not want to spend the money to provide digital cable throughout the park. So here we are in a very nice park with no tv service. We will not come back till they fix the problem. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Close to Collins lake for trout fishing. In Anacortes I would recommend two great restaurants. Anthony's for great seafood, and Ciao Bella for amazing Italian cuisine.

We asked for a site where we could get Sat TV, and got it. Long, wide and level. There are many nice and cozy sites here with trees, shade, etc. Probably a site for whatever your likes are. We've been here before and will be back if in the area again. Can hear the planes from Whidby Island Naval Air Station. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at Pioneer Trails for 16 nights at site E-1. This site is a head in and in the trees. Sewer connection had a little high rise at the end. If satellite is important we would suggest something in the A row. Our satellite got most of the channels and local TV by antenna brought in a few local stations. The park did not have cable. WiFi was there but a little iffy at out site. The staff was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We would recommend it highly. If you plan to stay for any length of time suggest making reservations in January. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Pioneer Trails for the past two years and absolutely love this resort. The place is beautiful, peaceful, the sites are spacious and the Staff has treated us with the utmost courtesy. Normally that's all it takes to get a 5-star rating from me. The one draw back; the road dust is ridiculous. The managers / owners have allowed the gravel roads to be ground into dust and have chosen not to maintain them. They have a "5 mph, strictly enforced, speed limit" sign at the entrance, but it is not enforced and a very small percentage of campers adhere to it. Let the dust clouds roll. Bottom line: they need to spend some money, seal the dust and then re-gravel the roads. If you don't mind a lot of dust, then this is a great place to camp. As for me, I will not return until the dust issue is resolved. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Good large park with plenty of room to roam. Each site is very different so it depends on which site you get. The front of the park is very wooded with lovely big trees and landscaping. The back, newer part of the park is a bit more open and just big gravel lots. All the utilities are excellent and easy to deal with. We were in B15 and right next to the wifi which worked well all the time for us. Verizon cell was good. Cable worked well and easy to deal with. There is plenty for the kids and there are plenty of kids. You can always ask to be on one of the sides or in the back away from kids but it is a big family get away type park. Good dog park. Can be dusty if you are in the middle. Good location right at the edge of town. Easy drive into town or over to Whidbey. Right off 20. July and August very full so reserve early and u can always cancel. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great farmers market on sat in Anacortes. Thursday 4-7 in oak harbor on the island. July and August busy with something every weekend. Take the ferry to Friday Harbor San Juan. The mopeds on the island are expensive and not worth it. If you want to drive on the island, take your car. You can see all of Friday Harbor though just walking or get a trolly or bus from the harbor.

Worst showers ever in two years of full time rving. Timed, hard to adjust temperature, tiny, everything you bring with you gets wet as there are no shower curtains. Otherwise would be a good place to stay. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hidden gem on Fidalgo Island! Sites tucked into the trees gives you the feeling you're in the woods. Nicely landscaped sites placed, so you're not on top of your neighbor. Sites are level and hookups are clustered together. Good cable station selection. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good playground for kids and a basketball court. Lots of trash cans placed around campground. While we were on Fidalgo and Whidbey Islands, we looked at other RV parks and we feel this one's the best! We found this park to be wonderful for visiting the area. Spaces up top were a little close, some were in full sun but if you can get on D or E row they are shady, quite spacious, some are deluxe and have a covered patio. Sites are pretty level. Best dog walk I've ever seen, grassy with trees, huge. Also have large playground area, horshoes, etc. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Heard good things about this RV park so we made our reservation. I'm glad that we did, it's a beautiful place and was the perfect way to make sure that we were able to catch the morning ferry to Vancouver Island. I agree with others who said it reminds them of a state park instead of a commercial facility. Great location for Deception Pass, Whidbey Island, and the ferry to Victoria. Large, level space between beautiful old trees. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Really, the only negative thing was the great number of low flying Navy jets overhead, but then again, the cost of freedom... My only caution would be to those who would annoyed or bothered by the constant air traffic. Military jets are usually VERY loud, and when they're coming in 2 minutes apart (well into the night/early morning) it can make for a very restless night. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Upon arrival we found the owners very friendly and approachable. Check-in was easy but they only take cash or debit; after which we were escorted to our site and assisted in getting positioned. Our site was a level, gravel pull-thru approximately 75' x 25' with 30/50 amp power, water, sewer & cable 58 channels. All utilities are about half way along the pad that worked well for our set up and connection points on the 5er. We also had a fire ring & picnic table. Separation between sites is done with mature trees and low ferns. The bathrooms continue to be very clean and well stocked. During our 7 night stay I would estimate the park remained at about 95%+ capacity. I did notice the pads were raked and cleared of leaves almost immediately they became vacant. It can get dusty but only if people drive too fast or 45' DP comes by. There are lots of garbage bins, which are regularly emptied. The office/store is well stocked with RV spares and some groceries and I noticed tea/coffee was available. The park does accept mail on your behalf but it is your responsibility to check for its arrival. The owners are helpful about local events and suggestions for activities. We found the park peaceful, not at all noisy except for occasional yapping dogs, which is the fault of their owners for not having control of their mutt. The park has a mixture of sites (back-in, pull through) gravel and dirt pads some very long (we have 40' fifth wheel with a full sized truck and still had space to spare). For children there is a nice grassed area and play frame and grassed space near the picnic shelters. Some guests are seasonal or have purchased a site but all friendly and not aloof. Wi-Fi (included in the price) is available at the sites and worked well during our time here. There is limited recycling for cardboard & cans. Propane refills can be purchased here. Clean laundry with limited opening times. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Whale watching with Island Adventures. Beach walks at Rosario Beach & Washington Park. Camping World, Wal-Mart & Costco about 20 minutes drive. Cheap fuel @ casino. Military jets fly overhead but that impacts the whole area, not just this park. Difficult at times to get back on to the main road due to traffic flow. Get in left lane very early before turning towards Oak Harbour, especially if arriving late afternoon.

Would have rated the park much higher but gave a 7 due to the DUST. The park roads are "extremely dusty". Lots of permanent residents. TV Cable was good. Compared to other RV parks in the area this park is slightly better. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed our week-long stay here. It's a large park. The sites vary from shaded (A-C loops) to out in the open. Our pull-through site had a steep front, but level back. Owners very helpful in addressing issues. Very convenient to the Anacortes ferry. Would stay again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is very convenient to the Anacortes. The Rockfish Grille in town has absolutely the best food. Visit La Conner, which is a fun town with good restaurants, and an amazing woodcraft store. There's also easy to get to kayaking at Bowman Bay. Be sure to visit old Cookeville on the east shore of Whidbey. The Camping World is about 20 miles east in Burlington. A cost-saving suggestion for visiting Friday Harbor is to park your car at the Anacortes ferry terminal and walk-on.

Disappointment is the word we would use to rate this park.

Not sure, but I think the excellent reviews come from the residents of the Park, which are about 90%. I had very high hopes for this park. The two positive notes, is they actually had wifi that worked, and the cg staff was quite nice. Other than that, most of the residents were very unfriendly. They have the attitude they own the park. The resident children were completely out of control, riding their bikes at breakneck speeds, without helmets, screaming loudly, and rude, and the parents didn't seem to care. Sites are pretty small. There is no view of anything except your neighbor. The park is very dusty. Not a speck of grass at any of the sites. Washers are newer, and are $1.75. We were ready to leave after the first few days, but they have you trapped, since you pay ahead, and they will prorate to a daily rate if you leave early. Thank goodness, we weren't there much. We will DEFINITELY NOT return. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Some sites are in trees and spacious, while most are basically a gravel parking lot. Lots in the park are being sold so expect the latter. The overall facility is clean and well taken care of, except for severe dust problem due to interior gravel roads. Did not use the restrooms. Laundry had new washers but with only 4 of them, short hours and a big park, several attempts were needed to get use. For us, the big plus was a large fenced dog area. There are also children play areas but that didn't apply to us. Would probably look for another park if staying in this area again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Motorhome.
