Nice resort and clearly perfect for families with all the amenities. Should say the laundry was closed as they chased a water problem. Staff was awesome. There is train and road noise as mentioned in other reviews. We stayed three nights and would stop again. Good satellite hookup from our site, Verizon strong and Wifi was adequate. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice place. Well organized with decent facilities. About a dozen trains a day (and night) pass very close to the park. They all use the horn next to the park, and the ground vibrates causing the coach to bounce up and down. Water is yellow and stained white clothes we washed here. They charge $20 for a visitor to come and park on the rented site without using any of the facilities. Never again. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here 5 years ago and were familiar with the train and traffic noise issue. I understand how noise can ruin a stay, but we didn't have a problem with it back then or now. The problems (bad water, poor Wi-Fi, and check in personnel who didn't know what satellite friendly meant) we had then were not problems this time. The Wi-Fi was good enough for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs. We had a level, pull-through, FHU site that was satellite TV friendly. We were fairly close to the office, pool, bathrooms, etc. The bathrooms were clean. This park has nice sites, decent facilities and good amenities but, unfortunately, its' location between busy rail lines and I-5 has limited its' appeal to many potential customers. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Hard to rate this park. We stayed here for the entire months of July and August. Rate I listed is reflects the monthly rate. It could be an 8 or 9 star park, but because of poor maintenance, lousy water and excessive noise, it gets pulled way down. Be sure to bring ear plugs. They sell them in the office if you forget yours. Interstate 5 is on the east boundary and BNSF railroad is on the west. As luck would have it, there is a RR crossing just outside the park and the trains horns go night and day. Office is at back of park. Almost all roads are one way except perimeter drive. Great office store and ice cream selection. There is a nice pool and hot tub, but there are no restrictions on children, so the kids are in it as long as it is open. We did not use as it would be like sitting in a urinal. Did not use the sauna. What really spoiled the stay for us was an unruly neighbor in space 62. Loud music and played till 1:30 AM some days. Loud motorcycles and a general disregard for the comfort of other guests. Many complaints to management resulted in no correction. This is a great place for kids and dogs, but if peace and quiet are your desire, go someplace else. We would not stay here again. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Good Sam needs to re-evaluate their review for this camp site. This was the worst stay we have had of any camping site we've been to. We pull a 23' travel trailer and camped at a back in site. We stayed during the 4th of July week and had no problems getting a site. Beware as they advise you that there are trains close to the campground. We just came from The Columbia River gorge and the trains are close by and could be heard, so we figured we would be OK to trains. They do not tell you that the trains are probably 50 yards from the campground site. The train traffic seems to be several tracks wide and the trains advise you they are coming with their horn, before and after they pass the camp ground. We counted 8 trains in a 45 minute time frame. We weren't prepared for the shaking of our trailer with each passing train. If you are into going to a cheap hotel and put a quarter in the vibrator on the bed, well then this is the place for you. The 3 am wake up shake is especially nice. At least we got a forewarning from the horns that it was coming. The camp ground has well over 200 sites and the camp ground was not even half full. They placed us right over 5 septic tank covers which added to the ambiance of the site. We could not sit outside our camper due to the smell. The pictures shown on the site are completely inaccurate. The grass at each site is dead and brown. Regarding the bathroom, if you like being locked up in a hot room, again this is the place for you. While we were sitting at the pool, we heard pounding and cries. A little girl had gone to the bathroom and got locked in. The door jammed. Several people attempted to get the door open to no avail. Finally a staff member came with a screw driver and forced the door open. "It happens all the time". Then put an OUT OF ORDER sign on the door! She was in there for about 5 minutes. She was freaked out and embarressed to say the least. There is obviously some issue going on with the management and ownership. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The first night there was Memorial Day and the park was packed. Between the holiday revelers, the interstate traffic noise the the constant trains going by this was NOT a quiet place! However the sites were really spacious, clean and they have a private trail down to the river that we enjoyed with our golden retriever. He was able to swim in the river and that was fun for him since our days were spend seeing the sites in the area. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park was fine. It wasn't clear who the park was designed for, it's kind of a resort style, but more suited for an I-5 stop-over. With I-5 on one side and a heavily-used railroad track on the other, there isn't a country type of feel. Regardless, it was a nice park and an ok stop-over traveling on I-5, albeit over-priced. This place has lots to offer! It's great for families who like to camp and have activities for the kids. If I was a 9 year old kid, it would be paradise! You can ride your bikes all over the place on the many paved roads in the various rows of streets. Great accessible trail to the river and a fun river to explore and skip rocks in! A beautiful pool area and pool warm and clean! Nic group BBQ and refrig next to pool. Lots of activities . Covered basketball courts, pickle ball. Private bathrooms. Two separate buildings. 6 total bathrooms. Sites are gravel with brown grass, but our site level. I think for a campground like this, well manicured green lawns are a waste of money. I've seen too many seniors letting their dogs pee on the grass and ruin it. They have good rules for those that don't have common courtesy and common sense. And unlike a national rv chain that spells camping with a k, they actually have nice folks cursing around in golf carts enforcing the lease laws, etc. I appreciate that. I was surprised with all the families and limited tv, that the WIFI was so good! Nice and strong at all hours. Now the not so good news.... the trains! We wont be back because hubbie can't sleep through the train noise and whistles. In the bathroom, when the train goes by, the building does vibrate. The woman on the phone tried to give us a place away from trains, but it didn't really help. The farther you get from train ,closer you get to hwy 5 traffic. I'm amazed at most of the rvs are placed closest to the traintracks. Maybe, monthly rent is very cheap or they are deaf. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

About 240 sites that they are trying to fill with park models or "tiny houses". Less than half the sites were filled. They do have lots of facilities such as pickleball and volleyball, but you need to bring all the players you need as they do not organize anything. Big playground for kids. The sites need some maintenance. The utilities are strangely placed. The water is very near the front of the site, the sewer near the center and the electric near the rear. We needed three sewer hoses to reach the sewer and all the electrical cable to reach the electric pedestal. Our picnic table was flaking off paint so we did not use it. The only sites that had green grass were those occupied by permanent or long term guests. This could be a really nice destination park with a little effort. The highway noise is only a low background rumble and was not too noticeable. While the trains do run along the west side of the property only the northbound trains blow their whistle and only after they have passed the park. You do feel the vibration but it was not bad. Easy off and on to I-5. Wifi worked well most of the tine. Verizon worked ok. We used satellite for tv. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Big campground.....some of the sites have tall, tall beautiful trees and others are more open. Since we wanted to use our Direct TV, they moved us to a more open one. It was perfect. Looks like a lot of seasonal or full-timers there but everyone was very friendly and it was pretty quiet. It's situated right next to I-5 so there's some dull road noise present but with all the trees, it's buffered. We've always lived near train tracks so they don't bother us but there are tracks/train whistles next to the campground. Roads were easy to navigate & utilities were perfectly placed. NO campfires allowed at the present due to the continuing drought. We would stay here again. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Large, modern park with blacktop internal road system. As we maneuvered our 38' MH around, it at first appeared as if turns would be tight and trees would be in the way but actually there was room to turn without any difficulty nor did any of the tree branches come close (except pulling into our site). The gravel/grass site was relatively level. Water pressure was good and the taste was OK. Plenty of room to park our towed behind our MH. With awning out there was still 10-15' to the adjacent site. Verizon voice/data was average. We never were able to hook up to their wi-fi network. As we were told when we made the reservation and again when we checked in, the park is between the interstate and a frequently used railroad track. The composition of the underlying ground must be such that it easily transmits the rumble of the train going past as one could readily feel the vibrations even in the motorhome. Since we knew beforehand about the trains we were mentally prepared and it did not bother us. We arrived in the morning hoping to at least be able to park our motorhome somewhere in the park as we visited Mt. St. Helens. When we checked in our site was available and they let us setup before we headed out. This campground worked great for us to stay one night and visit Mt. St. Helens. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is high class. One of the best you'll find. The only caveat is the noisy freeway on one side and busy railroad on the other. We came here because the kids wanted to swim. The outdoor pool was clean and so was the hot tub. We also used the barrel Sauna and it was excellent. Grounds are well maintained, and paved roads are in superb condition. The passing trains shake RVs, and make lots of noise. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice, large park that is in a pie shape. We were initially offered a site quite near the freeway, so asked to be moved to a site deeper in the park, with a little less freeway noise. Lots of trees and grass, depending on where you are located in the park. Many amenities, as the website will inform. WARNING: there are train tracks directly behind the park, with the accompanying noise and horns at all hours of the day and night. If this will bother you, best find another park.
