We have been coming to this campground for over 20yrs. The last 8 or 9yrs things have changed. The compost toilets are horrendous and this year especially were absolutely unbearable. We were told that they are not being used as compost toilet anymore because of funding and that is such a sad problem because someone with lung problems can not go in there. It's literally so bad you can't breathe. Also this year the mouse issue was unreal. We had so many mice everywhere. We had our food locked up and they still got in our camper. When I say problem..I don't mean a little.... We put a bucket out with a stick so we could relocate them away from our camp area and in 2 days caught MORE than 50 mice :( and that was just in 1 site...we had 4 sites. The little store near by said it's a huge problem this year. Something needs to be done because our neighboring campers had mice climbing on them in their beds when they were sleeping and ended up awake the entire night. It's made us rethink coming back next year if things are the same. Lastly, up until about 5yrs ago it was always so peaceful there.... now on the weekends people flock there and we've seen drunk young people try and jump across the top of the falls and fall in and have to hold on to the logs so we could help them get out so they didn't go over the falls. We've seen people bring full size bbq out onto the top of the falls and cook. It really sucks what social media and tv has done by advertising the "Hidden gems of Washington" it ruins really special places.  We camped at Lower Falls Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Extremely beautiful RV campground located amongst 124' fir trees. All sites were level, paved and large with table and firepits. There were 3 waterfalls located on easy 5 mile RT hike. I can't wait to get back. However, this campground does not accept reservations so it's first come first served and this is a major problem as the campground is located 15 miles up US Forest Road 90 and you won't know until you get there whether there is a site available. During the 3 days I was there, I saw many RVs turning around and heading back down the mountain as all sites were gone. There are no signs at the turnoff indicating the availability of sites and 30 miles RT drive is a long way to go...especially in the dark. Other than that it's a great park. We camped at Lower Falls Campground in a Motorhome.
