We loved this RV Park for it's peaceful vibe and perfect location. The WiFi is terrible and the cable is useless so that cost them a high rating. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids and spent a week here visiting the area and taking the ferry over to Seattle. We are a family of 4 with kids ages 9 and 11 so even though they didn't have any amenities we appreciated the safe place to stay. We highly recommend this campground! We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great, flat, wide spaces. Very clean laundry facilities. Even though it's just off the road it was extremely quiet and peaceful. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The setting of the park is lovely - trees and terraced up the hill. Other than that, there's nothing else positive I can say. But there's plenty of negatives. 1) Stating that they have wifi is a complete misrepresentation. I was never able to get a internet connection during the stay, and I'm a tech person. Yes, they broadcast a signal throughout the park, but there is never an internet connection. This is undoubtedly because the owners won't pay for enough bandwidth from their ISP. So, if they don't do that, they shouldn't say they offer wifi. 2) Stating that they have cable TV is also a misrepresentation. The picture is so snowy that you can't make out the picture. They told me that they checked it and it was fine. One of my neighbors told me they say that to everyone, and the problem is with their lines. 3) Don't assume you can get a satellite TV to connect to the satellites. There only a handful of sites that have a clear view to a satellite, and those sites are taken by seasonal/full-timers. 4) Calling this place a "resort" is a joke. There's not even a pool. Yes, there's a pool on the park map online, but it doesn't exist anymore. Another misrepresentation. 5) The water pressure was rarely above 40 psi. The bottom line is that this is a trailer park - not an RV park. At least 75% of the park is seasonal/full time. The owner/operators couldn't care less about a traveler. And given that they are the only park around, they can afford to do that. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Came here in 40' motorhome. Check in was a breeze. Space was in good condition. Gravel and level. Sewer connection was the nice screw in type - very secure connection as opposed to some others! 50A electric and decent water pressure. Spaces are mostly terraced giving you a more open feel. Plenty of room to park the toad too. Lots of trees for shade, but a bit obstructing to the satellite. Decent cable reception though. Wifi seems good now 3Mbps. We had a long pull through that was reasonably level and had full hookups. Driver's side of rv was next to a hill, and the sewer hookup was slightly uphill, which made dumping the tanks a bit of a chore. Plenty of trees and shade. It is very hilly and there are more rv's in the top section of the park on a small plateau. That may be a better location. Supermarkets and stores are nearby, and the little harbor is a nice place to visit. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were in site 12 which is a bit tricky to get into with a 40' motorhome. Site was quite wide with gravel and dirt. Gravel is actually small rocks (ankle breakers and hard on dog's feet). Lots of pine needles. Can't imagine you'd get satellite service in any of the sites. Their cable tv was fuzzy and they changed MSNBC to some hollywood channel while there. We did enjoy our week stay there (no weekly rate) and would go back. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Harbor is nice with lots of restaurants and the typical touristy shops. Albertson's, Costco, Home Depot, Fred Meyer nearby. Wished I'd known Washington had a 20% hard liquor tax, would have purchased before entering the state.

Clean campground. Well maintained however very unfriendly to kids. The staff is rude as well as other campers. Many seasonals that definitely did not seem to like new campers. No one spoke to us and it seemed as we were being watched by everyone while we were there. The seasonals were also rude to our kids. The owner as well was not nice. The site was not level, not much for kids to do, a lot of hills. We will not camp here again. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We pull a 43' fifth wheel with extra long F350 dually. Entry into park was easy. Staff were very nice. Lanes are paved BUT narrow. Park is beautiful due to being set, for the most part, in a forest of tall pines on a steep hill. Sites are gravel with a picnic table. We were in site 10, which was very long and very wide as well as fairly level. We were charged $50 per night for their most expensive site. Utilities work well and are well placed. Laundry is nice and clean. Washers take only small loads at $2.00. Driers are $0.50 but I needed to run them twice to get clothes dry. Cable TV is nice. Appreciate being in a heavily treed site as direct sun at this time of year can be very hot. Propane is sold in the park. WiFi - at price we are paying WiFi should be awesome. But it is not - it can get very slow and at times not even connect to the Internet. Only thing we would change about this park. AT&T cell service is good but Verizon broadband can be iffy - not the park's fault. No dog park, no pool, no activities. Bugs not a problem. People are friendly. Would return happily and for a longer stay next time. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bill Speidel's Underground Tour - tour guides are awesome - be sure to take the ferry over to Seattle - much easier than driving and parking. Just wander around Gig Harbor - so pretty and charming. Lots of people rave about Anthony's restaurant - don't waste your money - there must be better seafood elsewhere.

Great location that is close to town. Leave park to the left and you are close to Harbor area. Turn right and you are headed to shopping. Park staff was very nice. Owners did get on some kids for throwing rocks into the driveway. But there was little for them to do there. Sites up the hill are on plateaus so you do not have your neighbors hookups next to your picnic table like on the lower sites like ours was. That is my biggest complaint of the place. Would have liked a off leash dog park too. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Overall a nice park. Water, electric and sewer worked fine. Park is hilly but it was still easy to navigate. Sites are gravel and the rocks were a little too large for my liking. Close (1 mi.) to shopping. In my view the park has two major drawbacks. While they advertise WiFi, in reality the sites don't have WiFi. Signal was so weak and slow, I gave up trying to use it. You can go to the office and get a decent signal. Second they do not allow charcoal grills. That is a big downer for me. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Had a pull thru site up on the hill. Larger rigs would be difficult to maneuver around. 99% live in. Gravel site not level. Gun shooting range nearby and off road motorcycle right near our site. Not on park property but a live-in's bike. Long walk down hill to office and rest rooms. Trails are not that close. And pool is not available even though it shows on park map. Will not use this park again. Trees were nice. To leave we had to drive down a slope made of gravel and make sharpe turns to get on main road. Very hilly park. First, this was a great park overall. I'm from Oregon and usually stay at secluded Oregon State Parks so this was a first for me at a less secluded type of RV park. It's hard to compare to a State Park, but it was clean, well run with facilities people doing touch up maintenance every day, and had a friendly staff. I would definitely return if I'm in the area again at some point.

The cons were that I was parked in the bright sun all day, close to the office, as compared to under the trees in other locations, and was quite close to the neighbor above me on the sloped ground. Otherwise though it did allow for satellite if desired, the restrooms/showers were close by, (The distant sites are quite a ways from the restrooms/showers/laundry etc.), and in all other ways the site was fine. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the best RV Parks in the entire Puget Sound area. Most are very poor. We have returned to the Puget Sound area a number of times. We chose to stay near Tacoma because of the activities we were doing.

Very good interior roads. Very good gravel sites. Our back in site was level. The campground is built on a hill, so some sites may experience tilting while parking their rig. The staff was friendly at courteous. The bathrooms were clean. Shopping is about 1.5 miles away. The harbor is only 0.5 miles away. The Cushman bike trail is less than 0.5 miles away.

We would stay here again if our travels took us to the Tacoma area. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is not a resort by any means - it is the only RV park anywhere near Gig Harbor. Be aware the park is on a hill and spaces aren't really level... Would we stay here again? I seriously doubt it. Too many issues with staff and grounds. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Motorhome.
