I'm really disappointed in Maryhill State Park. Washington parks are usually very good, but not Maryhill. There was no staff present when we checked in. Our site was not tagged as reserved. But, the most surprising thing was the physical condition of the park. Along the Columbia River, the parks are regularly watered - so they are green all summer long. Not so at Maryhill. The grass was dry and dead. More so, it had been recently mowed. So every step into our travel trailer included little bits of dried dead grass. On the positive side, the park includes easy swimming access to the chilly Columbia River. When the temps were 105F, it was easy to cool off. We had a waterfront campsite. We were very lucky. The utilities were good and stable. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here several years ago and it was wonderful. Green grass everywhere, clean, and simply a great stay. We went back this weekend and were horrified! All the green grass has died, it's dusty, buggy, garbage strewed all over rhe place and in the bushes, all the dumpsters were overflowing ( on a Friday night) and simply a terrible experience. I don't know what happened, but it has become a rundown park and it's as if nobody cares any more. What a sad state of affairs for a once great park. We were supposed to stay the whole weekend, but ended up leaving early the next morning - 12 hours after arriving. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice day use area with a good roped off swimming area. The park is older with the restrooms and showers in need of an upgrade. The park is located close to the Maryhill Museum and Winery. We really enjoy tasting and then partaking in the wine on the patio at Maryhill Winery. The noise is an issue with the two major rail lines in close proximity of the campground. The site are large, but the sewer hook up is in the rear of the campsite (for back in) and have an elevated connection making it difficult to get a good dump since my sewer connection is in the middle of the trailer. We also had some negative issues with the sprinklers coming on at 9 PM in the site where we camped. Other campers also had issues with the watering schedule. The watering times are listed on the picnic table, but it would be nice if they did all the watering later at night so it would not interfere with our campfire. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Campground sites are level and wide but not very private. Restrooms are adequate but the shower could be a little cleaner. There are trains on both sides of the Columbia but thankfully no horn blowing due to intersections or tunnels. Used the A/C at night and so the train and truck noise wasn't an issue. Access to the river was easy and some of the sites had great views. We will camp here again. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Motorhome.

A very pretty, spacious park with nice paved access road, green grass and trees near the Columbia river. The rest rooms were acceptable but nothing fancy, no toilet seat covers. A very peaceful place but no TV or wifi. The trains run nearby but you can barely hear them. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Biggs is right across the river but only has two restaurants. Goldendale is 12 miles away and has more restaurants. Marshall Museum is nearby and a Stonehenge replica is also very close.

Whoever designed the parks watering schedule must have been a moron. There are signs posted throughout the park regarding the sprinkler schedule, all of which assure campers it won't impact their picnic table. Wrong! The huge impact-style sprinklers were turned on at the dinner hour, and the table and entire campsite were watered until too muddy to use the rest of the evening. Then, to make matters worse, they came on again the next morning just at the time campers were packing up to leave. The site numbering system must have been designed by the same moron. This is another overpriced Washington State campground that is sorely in need of better management. We wouldn't consider returning. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed in this park several times before, and knew what to anticipate. However the unwatered grass and some unkept sites dismayed us. Though easily accessible from the freeway, the road noise is less noticeable than the trains passing at all hours. We love to visit Maryhill winery when we stay there & again they did not disappoint. There is limited Verizon service & no cable, WiFi, or antenna TV. The sites are fairly level, but could benefit from more gravel. Though a bit more costly, the sites by the river remain our preference. We will return to this park & hope the deficiencies noted are resolved. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Have stayed here before but the place is looking pretty run down now. Still a nice state park but the prices are too high for what is offered. We had to pay an extra $10 parking fee because my wife follows me in a Jeep. We only stayed one night because we decided to head into Oregon where the pricing is more reasonable. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground was full but because it is spread out did not feel crowded. It is done in typical Government lay out with back-in in the center section and "pull-thrus" on the exterior of the loop. Lots of trees but got luck and got satellite tv. The park is very brown as they are having trouble with the sprinkler system. Nice location on the Columbia River would return. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Motorhome.

We've camped here many times before but this was the best one yet. We didn't get blown away by the constant wind or cooked out by the high temps. This park is right on the Columbia River and has a great view, roomy sites, and well maintained campgrounds. It also has a very nice swimming hole. This year a lot of the grass had browned out because of a failed pump but should be better next year. What a great place for the kids to ride bikes, scooters, or roller blades. Be aware that there is a couple of busy train tracks right next to the park (and I mean very close to the park). If you have an aversion to a noisy train coming through occasionally, you won't like this campground. There's also a steep hill right next door with trucks using their compression brakes throughout the day. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a small town right across the bridge on the Oregon side with all the gas and groceries you may need. Maryhill Museum and a Stonehenge replica is also up the hill on the Washington side. Maryhill Museum has a changing fare that can be very interesting. They also have an outdoor display of some very unusual, eclectic, and interesting art. You might even see the resident peacocks.

This is a state park with electric, water, and sewer. No Wi-Fi. No TV. No radio! The sites are large, level, and easy excess. Lots of shade and lots of wind as located at edge of Columbia River. Quiet except for trains and normal highway noise. The showers were not working - didn't use the restrooms. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A well kept state park. Not very large but with full hook-ups. The rates are dependent on the particular site ("popular" sites are more expensive) and the day of the week ($3/day cheaper for mid week stays). Yes there is a watering schedule and it clearly states when each site will be watered and to clear your stuff off the watered area. The trains go by a couple of times an hour, on average. Only once did we hear one blow their whistle. Less well-insulated RV's may find it annoying. Highway noise was no worse than other parks situated near US Highways. The commercial campground next to the park has much closer-together sites. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park right next to the Columbia River. There isn't much to do, but the campsites are nice, with a good deal of shade in the northern part of the park. The campground is set up as a circle, with the back in sites on the inside of the circle and the pull through sites on the outside. It's very windy here, as the Columbia River gorge is famous for. There is a small swimming area cordoned off in the Columbia River, but it was too cold to swim in mid-June. There is a train that rolls through all night, every couple of hours. It sounds it's horn, but it wasn't too bothersome for me. I tend to be a pretty generous reviewer, and this is a simple campground, but it's a nice setting and was a nice stop after a long night of driving. They have a very large day use area next to the campground for large parties. You could host a pretty large gathering if you had several RVs traveling together. What I remember most about the site is how green everything was and the beautiful trees. Lots of room to walk the dogs and even take them through the largely unoccupied group/day use area. I wouldn't stay more than two nights (one night was perfect), but it's a nice place to rest in pretty open country. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The sites are gigantic and it is steps from the Columbia River. The sunset was beautiful. For the $, though... the bathrooms are concrete with a drain in the middle of the floor, funky wooden stalls. It sort of looks like a penitentiary. The waste drains at the RV sites are ridiculous, hooking up to them with our standard hose was impossible. We had to have one person hold the hose while the other opened the gates. After draining, we closed the gates till the next time. We enjoyed the big grassy sites, but not the amenities. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Motorhome.
