This place ain't fancy but it has everything you need and the location is terrific for visiting the North Cascades NP. The woman who hosts the park is friendly and efficient. 3 washers & dryers that worked great. The park provides a great icemaker for guests to use...Nice touch! Panoramic scenery from our campsite was stunning! We will always stay here when visiting this area. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Take the boat cruise offered by the North Cascades NP and the Environmental Institute. It was a real treat. And the Dam Good Chicken Dinner in Newhalem is really a Dam Good Chicken Dinner and a great value!

Alpine's close access to North Cascades NP is what we were looking for. The onsite owner was helpful and friendly, along with the full time host. Restroom, showers, and laundry aren't modern but clean. The campground has a number of resident trailers that are in varies stages of repair. I reserved a pull-thru but ended up with a back-in, really wasn't a problem plenty of room to maneuver. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This park is in a great location for exploring the North Cascade National Park. My rating would have been lower for the park itself, but I felt I should consider the excellent location in the overall rating. Everything is old, but seemed in decent repair. My wife was comfortable taking a shower in the women's restroom, but I chose not to use the men's shower because they were not clean and neither had a shower knob. Sites are grass and may require some effort leveling. When I attached my sewer hose everything looked fine, but after dumping and rinsing, the system was overflowing and apparently could not handle the relatively small volume I put in it. I'd recommend you avoid dumping if possible or limit the amount you put in. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Marble mount has a ranger station, 3 or 4 places to eat and a company offering rafting trips on the river. The nearby national park is as close as you will get to the Swiss Alps in the U.S.A.!

Sites were tight. You share water. The roads were narrow and the tent campers parked too close to make getting in or out easy. If the park is full the sites are tight we were lucky that no one was in B. Ok for a trip to the national park. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground's location is great for visiting the national park. It is aged and has many older permanent campers but the grass pull-through sites are fairly level and easy to get into. We had a 50 amp site and all utilities worked well as did the Wi-Fi. We were not able to receive any over the air TV channels and they do not cable. The host is very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.

This small campground gets a 10 for location as it is just a few miles from the west entrance of North Cascades NP. It also gets a 10 for the friendliness of the campground hostess. But beyond that, it's no 10. There are a couple of lanes with some back-in sites, tent sites, and pull-thru sites and a few trees at some of the sites provided nice shade but that's it. We had to use blocks under our jacks to get our rig level as the grass-covered ground required adjustments. The bath house was okay at best. The toilets and showers themselves were clean, but it's clear the spiders enjoy this place in the corners, on the floors, etc., and many would not find this okay. Some of the hookups were not working but ours was; would be problematic if the CG got full. For us, all we wanted was a safe, functional site close to the Park so we were satisfied. For this place to be better, the owner really needs to put some money back into it -- spray for spiders, fix broken picnic tables and hookups, upgrade bath house, etc. Good WiFi and Verizon service. And again, you can't beat the location if you're visiting the park. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small quiet campground. Close to the entrance of North Cascade Mountains. Enjoyed our full hook ups and WIFI. No television but that was ok since the trip was to visit the national park. The bathrooms were spotless and the campground very clean. Our host and hostess were very friendly. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pull through sites are on leveled grass field. There is no cell reception for AT&T. There is WiFi available if you can get on. It is fast when you are the only transient camper onsite. If there's more than a couple campers than the speed drops to a crawl if you can get on. The laundry room is not maintained with trash on the ground. There are 3 working washers and 2 working dryers. Washer costs $2 per load and 75 cents gets you 40 minute drying time. The nightly rate is very reasonable for a pull through full hookup site. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

An older park in a quiet country setting. The sites are a spacious combination of grass and gravel. They have both sunny and shady spaces. The building containing the showers, bathrooms and laundry is dated, but clean and serviceable. We parked fairly close to the building and the wifi was very good there. The park is just across the road from the Skagit River and is very near the eastern entrance to the Northern Cascades N.P. We were looking for a clean, affordable place to use as a base for a couple of days while toured the park. This place was perfect. Not a resort, but a very pleasant place in very special surroundings. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Heading east on Highway 20 through the Park, see the generating plant at Newhaven and walk to the falls behind it. Further into the the park turn left just past mile marker 127 to drive over Diablo Dam. Further up the road stop at the Diablo Lake overlook Scenic Viewpoint. Just before exiting the park you'll come to the Washington Pass Overlook. T is a must see and a great place for a picnic.

We arrived during office hours but still had to do self-registration. The sign said someone from the office would contact us with the password for the Internet. I tried knocking on the camp host door with no answer. Nobody ever showed up with the password. The sites are level and on grass. All the hookups worked. It was quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains. Price shows Passport America rate. We stayed here one night and it was adequate for that. I thought about doing laundry but when I peeked into the laundry room there was a distinct smell of mildew and neglect so I passed on this. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.

The west side of the North Cascades is a desert for RV parks. This place is by far the best if you need hookups. The National Park campgrounds are nicer, but no showers or hookups in any of them. Alpine RV is a no frills park. Showers were clean, but smelled a bit (like wet dog). It's a big green grassy field with hookups. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small park run by friendly people. They were extremely accommodating as we tried to find a level site with 50amp. Most of the sites are not level, but a few blocks fixed that. All sites are grass and if you use small blocks, they can sink into the grass. The WiFi was not the greatest, but it worked most of the time. The water pressure was pathetic. With the park about 25% full, we were down to barely 30psi which didn't begin to cut it. As a result, we shortened our stay by a day and moved on. I wouldn't mind staying there again (we had the Passport America rate) as the cost was very reasonable, but only if they get the water pressure fixed. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.

You pay for what you get. It's cheap and cheerful. Not all sites are level and water & power hook-ups are poorly maintained though usable. Located close to the road, so some road noise at night. Tired restrooms and showers. They need an re-paint! All sites are easy to get to but we only stayed one night. OK as an overnight., but the other sites nearby looked nicer. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.

Simple setup with grass spaces that are level. 50 amp available in only a few spots, but I had the choice of a few when I got there. $10/night for Passport America members. They have WiFi and the signal was strong, but the speed was way too slow, so I used my Verizon card which had a good signal. I'd stay here again... can't beat the price. First, if you are in a large rig, and want to visit North Cascade National Park, look no farther. Alpine is a gem just a few miles from the Newhalem Visitors Center. 44 miles from there is Washington Pass. Alpine is well maintained; however, it is mostly grass sites. Our site (#12) did have a concrete patio. The sites are adequate, but not spacious. The owners and hosts were very friendly; however, slow to answer e-mail and often out of the office. Alow-key operation. Verizon cell and data worked very well. There were several families with children which is to be expected Labor Day Weekend. It was very quite after 10 pm. The rate we paid reflected the 2011 rate which they honored since I made my reservations early. We would stay here again. We camped at Alpine RV Park in a Motorhome.
