2 Parks near Mineral, Washington

This is a nice little campground that would be a good jumping-off place for day trips into Mt. Rainier National Park. There is a little creek to cool off in, and a big field for frisbee-throwing. A herd of elk will visit from time to time.
We liked this place because it is only 45 miles from our home and is yet far enough out to be quiet and peaceful. There's a little noise from route 7 that runs nearby, but it wasn't annoying.
It's worth mentioning that there are a lot of really nice tent sites in this campground. That's not always the case with privately-owned operations. This would be a very pleasant place to camp in a tent. There are nice restrooms and showers, and even an outdoor dishwashing sink.
A lot of thoughtful touches have gone into making this a great campground.
The owners are about the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. They were gracious hosts, and came by to make sure that everything was OK.
The only bad news about Eastcreek is that it is for sale. The owners would like someone to take over and let them have a "real" retirement. - Eric Lester

Although a bit out of town, a beautiful spot. Absolutely no cell service or Wi-Fi in park, but when you get out to main road you will pick it up quickly. Never been to a park (especially paying $35) that you will be charged an additional $10 to dump!! We choose not to dump as we had only stayed two nights and it would be a couple more days before we would be hooked up at a park again. Owner are very pleasant and informed us that our dogs were over the size (max 40 lbs). (We have an airedale and labradoodle and they were an "allowed breed" but we would be allowed since the park was very empty mid week.) Nice spot on the creek except it's too bad they dumped slash over the bank to fall into the river- an eyesore and not the best way to get rid of slash. First night was very quiet and peaceful, second day a family of seven camped next to us and kids were all over the place...and up until 10 playing...love kids...but wanted to go to sleep. A very well planned park with lots of trees between sites. Since as many trees as possible have been left, it's very shady there. Perfect for our dogs who had to stay in RV when we went to Mt. Rainier. It's for sale. - Ollie49

Nice park in woods, only one other camper during our stay. Great site, by the creek - pull through. Wi-Fi did not work. No cell coverage. Owners were very friendly. Visited Mount Rainier Park from there. - User2523

This campground is mainly for those that are fishing. There really is nothing to do at this RV park as well as no cell phone service. There are no showers. They tell you to use the event center in town and those bathrooms are porta potties. The cable TV is very poor as a lot of the channels are not viewable due to the condition of the cable in the campground. Most of the campers here are long term. I will not stay here again. There are others in the area that are more suitable for RV's. - Cactus Pete

No showers, Porta Potties. Sites very close together (as in parking lot). Staff friendly. Beautiful lake. - Uh-Oh
