We stayed 8 nights in a 40' fifth wheel. The only reason that I didn't rate this a 10 is that the standard RV sites do not have sewer hookup. However, we arrived just after the camphost had left and the on-site owners were gracious enough to give us the host site without us even asking. They were so nice and helpful. This is a small park with a good mix of RV and tent sites. This was our kind of park with towering old growth trees all over the place and ferns and moss etc. If we were ready to settle down and be camp hosts this would be the place! All roads were in great shape. The bathroom was kept very clean. Property is on a small creek but it wasn't running vigorously during this time of the year. Please note that the park is for sale so things may be changing especially if one of the big RV Park Management companies takes over and adds sites. That would be a shame. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We visited Eastcreek during a hot spell when temperatures ranged between the upper 80s and lower 90s. Imagine our shock when we were handed a list of rules which included the statement, highlighted in pink, "No air conditioners or generators allowed in the park." In 5 years of travel (approximately half time) I have never seen a prohibition on using your AC, nor was it posted prior to arrival. And in the middle of the summer near Mt. Rainer there is no option to say 'no thanks' and go to a different campground. Also be aware that this campground does not have sewer hookups, only a dump station. Your camping fee allows one use of the dump at no charge when you arrive, or when you leave. If you need to use the dump a second time that is an additional $5. The base rate of $40 a night is rather steep considering it only buys partial hookups and WiFi that works only near the front sites. None of the common discounts are available, everyone pays $40 (or more for large families). On the plus side most of the sites were extremely spacious and well separated, picture a State or Federal campground for appearance. Shading ranged from partial shade to almost 100% in the shade of very large pines. The host was polite and helpful. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wonderful small park maintained with love and attention to detail. The bathrooms are old but spotless and there are no sewer hook ups so not really used by large RVs. There is a state park feel to the campground with big heavily forested sites. It is close to Alder Lake State Park and Mount Ranier and on a summer weekend you will want to be at both parks early in the morning. We were here for a 4 day weekend and intended to spend most of the time in Mt Ranier but our 4 year old grandson loved the cold clear creek so much we decided to spend most of our time in Eastcreek campground. We also enjoyed going into Elbe for some homemade ice cream and craft beer. At one point we took a decibel reading it read "same as a very quiet library." I was so thankful for Eastlake Campground because it really was a relaxing refuge for our family. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mount Ranier is huge but if you get away from the parking lots you can take a tourist escape hike. Alder Lake on the weekend was a mad house and the water levels very low at some of the other nearby parks. Alder Lake actually closed it's parking lot by late morning Saturday and Sunday

Great referral by another CG in Ashford. This is a gem of a small, well managed CG set in the woods about 20 miles from Mt Rainier NP. The owners are friendly and helpful. The sites are level and comfortably spaced from neighbors. An easy ride into the NP. Water and electric on site. Good wifi, no tv. Showers and dump services are a la carte - the only negative I can think of. We recommend it highly! We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Motorhome.

My wife and I stayed here in our travel trailer and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had previously tent camped at this campground several years ago and when the wife and I got our travel trailer we made it our maiden destination since it was an hour from our home. Our site was right next to the creek and was very large (we found out later that the site we stayed in was the one the owners built for themselves when they built the park). The owners are a wonderful friendly couple who are ready to help whenever needed. Our site was a bit difficult to get into with our rig but part of it was the approach they advised to take to it. Had I come in from the opposite direction it would have been much easier. The grounds are beautiful, heavily wooded with a nice creek that runs by. There's a large field to take the dogs out and let em run if you need. We will definitely be staying at Eastcreek again and again as a quick getaway. Be advised there is little to no cell reception which isn't a problem in my book, but that may bother others. A quick 5-10 minute drive will alleviate that for you however. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small, family owned park. Very well planned out and run. The owners and the camp hosts were among the nicest we have encountered. They were willing to help with anything we needed, and stopped by to chat a few times. They gave us lots of information on things to see and do around the area. There are not a huge amount of sites in this campground, and the majority are smaller, made for tents or small campers, but there are a few that will accommodate larger rigs. We have a 43' toy hauler and fit great in site #3 - their largest, and best site, situated right on the creekside. There was sketchy cell service, but if we were outside it worked ok. We could get online here and there, t00. No satellite, no tv. But we enjoyed watching some of our old movies at night after our campfires.

The only real drawback for us (besides being offline and no TV...) was having to dump instead of sewer hookups. There is a dump station, and if you stay more than 2 nights, there is no charge, but we could not get to it without a lot of maneuvering, so chose to carry our "load" to the next campground. We could have done it, but decided we were ok to travel that day.

Mt Rainier Park is just about 20 miles away, and easy to get to. But we also went into Seattle for a baseball game, drove to Mt St Helens ( 2 hours away, but worth it!), and then down to Portland to Multnomah Falls, because we were told they "were not to be missed!" They were awesome, but maybe not a day's worth of driving. The park is peaceful, and relaxing. No amenities, except horseshoes and tether ball. And kids and adult both loved playing in the creek, as it was hot the first couple of days here. We would return to this park. Sad to hear it is for sale, hope someone who loves it as much as they do, buy it. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Do your laundry and stock up on groceries before you arrive, as the nearest real grocery is about 15 miles away.

Good hamburger bar only a couple of miles away, though, and a gas station. Great wi fi right outside the park, about 1/2 mile down the road.

Mt St Helens is just about 2 hours away, and worth the drive. We went to the Johnston Ridge Observatory, and were not disappointed at all.

Only had 30 amp power and water. No sewer, laundry, or cable. If you wanted to dump would cost $5.00 and shower was also an additional $5.00. There were a few 50 amp hookups.

The park was very impressive as it was situated in tall western cedars and hemlocks, dark but nice and on a creek. Could not use satellite and there was no over the air TV, and no cell reception. Once we got over the electronic withdrawal it was actually kind of nice. The owner was nice but I think he has it up for sale. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Entrance to Rainer NP is about 15 miles away. Several nice restaurants in Ashford about hallway to the entrance. Be sure and get a piece of blackberry pie at "The Copper Creek Inn and Restaurant". Breakfast is also great (large portions but a bit pricey).

Laundry available in Ashford.

This is a nice little campground that would be a good jumping-off place for day trips into Mt. Rainier National Park. There is a little creek to cool off in, and a big field for frisbee-throwing. A herd of elk will visit from time to time.

We liked this place because it is only 45 miles from our home and is yet far enough out to be quiet and peaceful. There's a little noise from route 7 that runs nearby, but it wasn't annoying.

It's worth mentioning that there are a lot of really nice tent sites in this campground. That's not always the case with privately-owned operations. This would be a very pleasant place to camp in a tent. There are nice restrooms and showers, and even an outdoor dishwashing sink.

A lot of thoughtful touches have gone into making this a great campground.

The owners are about the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. They were gracious hosts, and came by to make sure that everything was OK.

The only bad news about Eastcreek is that it is for sale. The owners would like someone to take over and let them have a "real" retirement. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Motorhome.

Although a bit out of town, a beautiful spot. Absolutely no cell service or Wi-Fi in park, but when you get out to main road you will pick it up quickly. Never been to a park (especially paying $35) that you will be charged an additional $10 to dump!! We choose not to dump as we had only stayed two nights and it would be a couple more days before we would be hooked up at a park again. Owner are very pleasant and informed us that our dogs were over the size (max 40 lbs). (We have an airedale and labradoodle and they were an "allowed breed" but we would be allowed since the park was very empty mid week.) Nice spot on the creek except it's too bad they dumped slash over the bank to fall into the river- an eyesore and not the best way to get rid of slash. First night was very quiet and peaceful, second day a family of seven camped next to us and kids were all over the place...and up until 10 playing...love kids...but wanted to go to sleep. A very well planned park with lots of trees between sites. Since as many trees as possible have been left, it's very shady there. Perfect for our dogs who had to stay in RV when we went to Mt. Rainier. It's for sale. We camped at Eastcreek Campground in a Motorhome.
