Used park twice going and coming from Olympic Peninsula. At both stops we were able to fit our 34' trailer into a site. Most pull-thru's are short and tight, but we found plenty to fit into if necc!! Nice, quiet (weekday!!) shady park with good water and elec. Not many sites are "waterfront" with a view, most in the trees. Loop A (first come) and loop D (reservations!!) close Oct 1st. Also, be aware that you will run into reserved sites in year round loop B and can't check in before 2:30pm. Poor reservation system in my opinion. As to the reviewer per site 32, I totally disagree with the comment of forgetting it!! Large pull-thru site, easy for us to enter and leave, nice graveled open area for tents or canopys, and the fence is no negative!! Behind fence is drainfield for septic system, a large open grassy area with an electrical panel enclosed by an older chain link fence. Not even seen from site, or any negative smells. Site is private, no visible neighbors right next to you, but most are in this park. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do, other water activities here. Some nice hiking into woods and along lakeshore. Good park to stay and visit Mt StHelens, although a good drive to some of the monument.

Overall Rating:

Great place. We stayed four nights four week nights in mid Sept. All the campsites are in a mature woods. Smooth paved roads with paved camp site parking. Out site was a paved loop large enough for our 25 foot motor home but there are also large paved back in sites for long motorhomes or trailers. Beautiful lake with no development except for one house far away on the other side of the lake. There is fishing here but we did not do so. The only thing we would like to have had was a laundry facility. Otherwise, 10 out of 10 - probably the best we have seen in two years of full time RVing. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great park, spacious sites, and close to the lake. The big draw is the lake, so go to swim, boat, fish, etc. Fairly quiet, but a good amount of kids. Do not stay in site 32, it is right next to the septic system, and a huge ugly fence runs through the site. All the other sites are great. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice park!!! We chose this park because it is equidistant from both sides of the St. Helens Park. Unfortunately, the Windy Ridge road had not opened when we were there. This park is on a lake (reservoir) that is beautiful and provides opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing. The site was level and had excellent separation from other sites. Generally very quiet while we were there. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We spent three nights at Ike Kinswa State Park and we found this park to be a real nice place to relax with our two small kids. The sites are large with ample space between other campers to allow a sense of privacy. My kids just loved walking down to the bank of the lake which was just a few feet from our camp site. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful as well as the park ranger. We already booked another stay here for later this Fall so that we can enjoy the changing of the leaves. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Second time we have stayed here and making reservations tomorrow to go back next year. Sites are wide and have lots of trees. Access to the lake is easy although the beaches by the campsites are small with high banks. There is a swimming beach that looked much bigger. Restrooms are clean. We stayed in site 24 with a 38' Class A. It's a little bit of a tight fit but doable. Verizon cell service works and we were able to use our data plan to use our computers. Didn't try using the TV but I would guess it would be challenging with all the trees. Campground was full but fairly quiet. Some good areas to walk the dog. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful State Park!!! Very clean !! Spaces vary in price depending on amenities. Full hook ups, partial and none for tents or dry camping. Large spaces in the woods with walking trails and lots of biking trails. Close to boat launch and day use area for swimming and playground. Reservations suggested .. Busy full campground in the weekends and in the summer. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park could use a severe grass cut. The sites are decent size. Mine had the table and fire pit behind the RV rather than the side. There was little to no room along the sides of the RV and the campers next to me decided they needed the space for their tent and hammock. The vegetation is so thick so everything stayed damp. None to little sun could get through the trees, vines, moss, etc. The sewer hookup is elevated at a sharp angle and I did not leave the valves open for constant flow. I did not have a lake side site and had no access to the lake as a result. The park is convenient for day trips to Mt. Saint Helens and Mt. Rainier. Closest shopping is about 35 minutes away. My first Washington State Park experience - I was not impressed and would not stay here again. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.

This state park provides large sites, especially the lower section off the lake. Many sites have a great view of the lake or easy access. Our site was heavily covered by trees and included a picnic table and fire-pit. We were not able to get any DirecTV satellite signal. Verizon signal was very weak. Surprisingly, our site was level. We utilized this campground to sightsee some locations in southern Washington. Freeway access and grocery shops are about 30 minutes away. Rangers were friendly and helpful. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I love this place. While it has been some time since we were last year, we keep coming back. Our stay was over the Easter weekend. The one loop that was open had only water and electric hookups, no sewer. There is one "dry camp" loop with great lake access, and the "trailer loop" with full hookups has great lake access too. This park is showing its age. The sewer hookups are the old style with a above ground 90 degree opening. Electric is only 30 amp. Trees have grown and what once was an easily accessible site is not anymore. Be very careful if you intend on bringing in an RV that is 30 or more feet in length. When hooked up my rig is a total of 45 feet in length. Took some work, but I managed to make it into one of only two spots that the park said would take my rig. The other site would not have let me open my bump out. Still, I'll be back. Book reservations a long time in advance during the summer. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful park! I had a nice, private no-hookup campsite facing the lake, very woodsy, mossy, green and very quiet [stayed Sunday to Wednesday--the weekend crowd had gone]. I did not use the public restrooms. Nice hiking trails along the lake. The $11/night rate reflects my WA state limited-income senior pass. Will definitely revisit this park. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park has "full hook up" sites and another loop with water/electricity only sites. We stayed in a "premium" full hookup site, mostly because it was simply a nicer site. We did not have a reservation, but they're recommended after mid-May. The restrooms were somewhat worn, but typical of other state parks we've been in. They were clean. Showers require tokens (3 min fifty cents). However, they're a long walk from many of the sites and access is via meandering trails in the center of the camping loop. Sites on the inside of the loop connect to the trails, but sites on the outside must either cross an inside campsite (many were vacant during our stay) or walk even further along the access road. This park was very shady with lots of trees. Power boats in the lake were sometimes annoyingly loud. Otherwise, the ambiance was very pleasant. We would stay here again. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.

Stopped here just one night en route from Mount St. Helens through White Pass to eastern WA. Would love to come back and explore for more days. Park is right on Mayfield Lake and very wooded with lots of shade. Stayed in a standard, no hook-ups site 85 with our 23' Navion since it was our first night of our journey. Very family friendly campground. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful, older state park. There are several sites located on the water, but most of them are not. The bathrooms are isolated, but very clean. We have a 24 foot travel trailer and camped in site 28 - our friends had a 25 foot motorhome and camped in site 26. Both had easy manuverability and plenty of room for awnings. Site 28 had a much better view of the water. We did notice that in some of the sites you would need to work around large trees. The down side is that in May it is really wet. We were prepared for some rain - but this was past rain and close to monsoon. We would stay again, but probably in August. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Heavily forested State Park with river/lake frontage, although few sites have views of either. We came mid-October and on a Sunday so had the place pretty much to ourselves. The quiet was broken only by an occasional "geese-flyover," and annoying crow, and an evening frog serenade. A deer family strolled by in the mornings and osprey, loon and grebes are pretty common. The spaces are pretty typical of older State Parks, neither overly long or wide. Rigs over 30' should probably choose a backin sites and check online for site description before coming. Our 30' fit snugly but glad we didn't have a slide or were any longer. Sites are pretty level and the heavy undergrowth provides for a lot of privacy. Cell phone service is iffy at best and don't expected to find any sites with southern exposure. Open all year Restrooms are clean, flush toilets, cold water sinks and hot showers. ($.50 for 3 minutes, tokens sold at entrance.) Speaking about entrances, there is a new system being tried. You call on the yellow phone behind the entrance office and they will register you that way. All and all, its a pretty nice park with hiking trails around the lake. We used the Senior Off-Season pass available for WA residents over 65 I think. We camped at Ike Kinswa State Park in a Motorhome.
