Even though the campground is off the beaten path, the signage from Hwy 2 made finding the park quite easy. We had site 31 which offered a back-in pad with 30/50 amp, water, and sewer. Although the gravel pad was long enough to accommodate our 32 ft. trailer easily, the slope from back to front didn't allow us to use the sewer connection. Our drains are at the middle of the trailer and didn't want to position so far back that I would be imposing on the rear neighbors. There was also a tree in the way preventing us from opening the awning.

The park is huge, with 3 areas. One for KOA, one for Thousand Trails, and one mixed. Our site was very spacious side to side. We took advantage to the pool and hot tub which is located a short walk away. We did notice, however, some campers driving to the pool/rec building. We have kayaks but didn't use the small lake which we found not too inviting. We were hoping to launch our kayaks on the bigger Diamond Lake but could not find any public access. Instead we took an easy drive to Sandpoint and launched in Lake Pend Oreille.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We took advantage of the Frisbee golf course and laundry facilities. Close by on Hwy 2 there is a terrific Amish bakery and store, but to get full groceries, you'll have to travel into Newport, 20 minutes away.

The were lots of activities for families with kids and very quiet nights. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The campground is a shared concern with Thousand Trails and this review is in relation to the KOA side of the equation.

Although this is a very large campground with many sites they are spread out over a vast area and there is a great deal of open space. We had site # 31 which is a back-in equipped with 30 & 50 amp power, water and sewer drop. There is no cable connection but that wasn't important to us. Satellite is achievable because I saw a number of rigs hooked up to receive it. We could receive about 8 - 9 channels OTA.

The sites are crushed gravel and level from left to right but the row we were located certainly had a noticeable slope from back to front which took a bit of adjustment and levelling. Each site appears to be equipped with a picnic bench table and fire pit.

At our location we could pick up the wifi connection from a hotspot across at the office strong enough to review emails, write reviews and basic work. There is another hotspot up by the family centre and pool area.

The pool was large enough to accommodate quite a few people and was clean and well laid out. A short walk from the pool is the lake, not recommended for swimming but it is possible to hire canoes, paddle-boats and fishing boats.

We were here over the Fathers Day and there was quite a few children but nothing at all noisy or disturbing. There is a fenced dog walk suitable for the smaller breeds.

The laundry was $2 per load and $1.50 for a dryer. Six of each machines. There are several bathrooms dotted about the CG. The set near the main entrance are dated to the late 80' early 90's with veneered wood panels. Showers had privacy curtains. All appeared very clean and attended to several times per day.

Staff were polite and helpful, escorting us to our site and bringing the parcel that had been delivered on the day of our arrival. There is a camp shop but it has really odd hours of operation including closed on a Monday & Tuesday. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall a nice park that is cleaned and well kept. Wifi was very slow.

I am disabled and use a mobility scooter and could not access the store (stairs and no ramp) , laundry room (uneven lip on entry that is too high) and could not even access the pool area - one gate had a very high lip that a wheelchair/scooter would not get over, the gate that I could get in from was not functional and would not open(might be a code issue). The pool entrance from the restroom had a step as well.

Like I said, it's a nice park. If you are disabled the lack of access is a bit of a deal breaker. If they can fix these issues we may come back. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is a Thousand Trails/KOA Park and we do not pay to stay here under TT. It is a clean park and very quiet. The water and sewer hookups are kind of strange but worked well. We had a back-in full hookup site. They have a nice clubhouse with a hot tub. They also served breakfast one of the days we were there. It is about 15 miles to the town of Newport. They have an excellent local museum that is worth a stop. We will stay here again and recommend it to others. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Travel Trailer.

First of all, I didn't know what to put for the nightly rate. Part of the park is for KOA members, and the other part is for Thousand Trail members (that's us, and it's $3 a night). Anyway, despite the fact that there was no sewer hookups and no 50 amp service in the more downscale Thousand Trails section of the park, we really enjoyed our stay there. A severe storm passed through a few weeks prior, knocking over scores of huge trees throughout the resort. Many campsites were unusable because huge trees had fallen into them! A few trees even fell onto the roof of the lodge, but it was still standing and in use (we were told that the roof was leaking, however). It is a very peaceful setting, with lots of critters to keep you company. A mama deer and her babies, prairie dogs, squirrels, and chipmunks were constant companions. The nearby lake had a trail all around it (although the fallen tree damage extended to that as well, making it challenging in a few areas). Wi-Fi was very poor, even sitting right outside the place where it emanated from. The laundry room had several machines that were out of order, although they were fixing some of them when we were leaving. We enjoyed hiking through the huge campground. It is bigger than the active space count would lead you to believe, because huge swaths are inactive. You hike on the boundary road and feel that you are out in the middle of nowhere when you suddenly see old inactive power boxes sticking out of the ground. This campground either was huge at one time, or they overbuilt and never brought the whole thing up, but you can pretty much hike around until your feet fall off! We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

This was a great campground. Sites were large and spread out. Water pressure was terrific. First campground we stayed in with an adult-only hot tub...yeah! Good public pool. Very friendly staff. One only Wi-Fi hotspot at the office, which is being upgraded to Digital Hi Speed with several locations in the next month. Lake access for boats and limited swimming. Most sites are water and electric only. We had a full service site. We stayed over the July 4th weekend, KOA had lots of events scheduled. One of the best we've stayed in. Definitely would stay here again for multiple days. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Great camping experience! Spent 4 nights. Close to the lake, we visited Spokane, Mount Spokane, and Kettle falls from here. Biked with our dog, walked all around the campground. Super friendly staff, they helped with restaurants and local sights. We had to leave early because of incoming weather and since we left before 11, they offered us a refund for that night. Super spot, would definitely recommend! We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed in the Thousand Trails side of the park. Good Hot tub and Pool. Price reflects Thousand Trails member price. 4G Verizon data. Good Verizon voice. Fair air TV. Large park with very little usage. Gravel sites. No sewer in the park, but two dump stations. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

We had a site that was pretty large. We were able to put an 7 man tent on the top and a 3 man tent lower, the only complaint I have is that my ready camp go thru encore camping did not give me my discount and we had to camp thru KOA and they quoted me a price then when i got there i was charged 5 dollars extra for every person per night over 2 people. The campground itself was nice. Newport was close by so we used the Safeway there for anything extra we needed. I would camp there again but would try to rent a cabin next time. Tent camping is a lot of planning and work. But overall a nice place. The price per night is because of the amount of people we had in our party which was 5 and we had 2 cars. We camped at Newport / Little Diamond Lake KOA in a Tent.
