Paved pads, mostly shaded sites, peaceful. No WiFi, but Verizon 4G signal was good. Beautiful old growth forest surroundings, North Cascades National Park Visitor onsite, amphitheatre nearby, easy trails in campground, pretty waterfall nearby. No one there to check you in, so if you reserved just go to your site. If you need a site go up to the Visitor Center. Only issue with sites is the inner loop pull-through sites are set up backwards for most motorhomes/trailers. - jmholton

July 22,23 Newhalem Creek Campground (NPS) in North Cascades National Park, Washington, Site 31, 116 sites, $8 with Golden Age Pass, Dump Station, no hookups but water is available, bathhouses but no showers I really liked this National Park Campground located in the North Cascades National Park. There are four loops. A & B are on one side of the road and C & Group sites are on the other. We had site 31 in the B loop and it was my favorite loop because it was smaller and very quiet. Trails led off the loop to the Visitor Center and the River Loop Trail. A and B are reservation only and if available. The C loop was burned down in a fire in 2015 and just opened up five days ago on first come first serve. You can still see the burned trees but the wildflowers were in bloom and just stunning surrounding the sites. Next year the whole campground will be reservation only. The sites are spaced apart from each other and they are huge. We were able to back up and then the picnic table, firepit and two huge spots on sand platforms for tents were in the woods. There are hiking trails from the campground to the Visitor Center, town, river walk and other trails throughout the park. The hosts were very helpful with ideas of what to see and do. There were ranger talks every night we were there. This campground is the largest and busiest in the park and right off scenic route 20 next to the town of Newhalem. The history of this park is fascinating and the exhibits at the Visitor Center is a good place to start. - gsnakehill

What a beautiful campground! Loop A was the only loop still open this late in the season and it was full. It is in the trees and far enough off the road to be peaceful. If you are a smaller rig you have lots of site options but for the larger among us, not too many. We did fit our 38' fifth wheel, truck and Jeep into site A2. Because of tree placement we had to back into our pull through site. Swing room was a big issue but both the rig and the forest were unscathed. We saw a few other large rigs who faced similar challenges. Site A4 looked promising. The dump station and water fill are also tight for large/tall rigs. Amazingly, Verizon phone and 4G worked well.
This campground is truly a gem. - PBuds

Heavily forested campground, therefore pretty dark. The sites are small (few exceptions) and placed awkwardly. Most are unlevel. Some are just a pullout from the loop road. However, due to the trees and shrubbery there is some privacy. Water taps are around. We stayed here after Labor Day, so one loop was closed already and the other was almost completely occupied. We'll try another location when traveling through the area next time. - TheSchweitzers
Jul 2016 - $7.00
Typical Forest Service campground with spacious sites and a few unruly people. The campground fills by Thursday and there are no other campgrounds within short distance of this one. The restroom near the lake front sites was being worked on so substituting were some portable out houses. Amphitheater presentations were worthwhile. Some great site seeing within short driving distance. - Doug Toye
Jun 2015 - $6.00
It was beautiful, the trees were thick, but not made for larger RVs unless you look closely at the map before you reserve. Find one that is WIDE, not so narrow we could barely get out of our RV. This is a tenters paradise. Plus it was bloody hot and with no electricity, we had to leave. - Dr. Hemlock

We were looking for a campground that would be convenient to hiking on the western side of the North Cascades National Park. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed for 5 days in August, including a weekend, in our 25 foot MH. This is a very nice small campground. There's a main campground and 2 remote group sites. The main campground has 21 sites, sites 7-14 are along the Skagit River. The other sites are closer to the North Cascades Highway and get some road noise during the day although there's little traffic at night. The sites are good sized and heavily wooded providing shade and privacy, and few opportunities for solar panels. Many need some leveling. There is no WiFi. There's good Verizon and a hint of AT&T cell coverage. The campground is clean and well maintained. All sites are first come first served. We arrived late on a Wednesday and found a site. The campground did fill over the weekend. This campground is less than a mile from Newhalem campground which is similar yet larger with more activity. Loops A&B at Newhalem take reservations while Loop C is first come first serve. - dsvt

Aug 2017 - $10.00
A nice municipal campground hidden in the outskirts of Sedro-Wooley. We used one of the 10 tent sites (also 20 hookup sites available). The park is kind of an open field, some trees, but not a lot of privacy. The sites are gravel and grass. A bit unlevel but nothing major. Picnic table on site but no fire ring. Quiet area. We came back on our return and liked it again. - TheSchweitzers
Jul 2015 - $23.00
Stayed at Riverfront Park in a 30' 2 slide motorhome. 30 amp electricity, water. No sewer. Large tree with shade. Dirt pad, grass. Pull through site. Host and Park Employee very friendly and helpful. Cost includes making a phone reservation. Otherwise, it would be $15.00 a night. Electrical box on a pole high in the air with steps up to it. Side by side spaces. - Jerryws98516
Jun 2014 - $15.00
Great little park without sewer hookups. Understand they will install them in time for next year's camping. Quiet and very well run park. We will stay here again. - rolling homeless

Plain and simple RV sites at the city park. Full hookups including 50 amp service but the sewer connection is only on site 5. There's a total of 5 sites, each parallel to each other in a paved parking lot with only a painted line between each site. There's enough room to extend sliders but not much more. If you want to set up chairs, the whole park is available and it's a very nice park. There's room to walk the dog, have a picnic or just sit in the shade. Overall, a decent site and we'd stay here again if we needed an in-transit site. - fruffiii

Sep 2017 - $45.00
There are two sections to this park. We only needed 30 amp and were put in the older section which, unlike the new section, has trees and shade but also has very close sites that are a mixture of gravel and dirt with brown/green grass. The water and sewer were fine but the power was poor. If we used the AC or microwave, we needed to run the hot water tank and refrig on propane. If two draw items were used, i.e. hot water and microwave, etc., the voltage dipped into the red, well below 110. The park was far from full, but we were placed next to a long term tenant while there were 4 empty sites on the other side of us. We would stay again if we had to, but we would bite the bullet and stay in the 30/50 amp sites and pay the extra. - Bob and Pat
Aug 2017 - $50.00
Exactly as others have described it. Great staff, owners friendly, lots to do on the site for everyone. There were wild blackberries in the rear section we picked. We stayed there a month to visit the area and the location was perfect. Cascade loop, anacortes, Boeing tour, ferry to BC, drive to Vancouver, hiking and biking all possible from here. Close to shopping too. - Markra
Aug 2017 - $60.00
The new addition to the park is outstanding, the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Staff in the office were also excellent. Request the rear of the park for your big rigs. The park was spotless, will stay here again. - tazman1953

Sep 2010 - $10.00
This campground is only available for racing events at the speedway, a banked dirt oval. You are parked in one of three fields on grass; some areas level, some not, bring lumber. You can arrive on Friday night for the Saturday races at no extra charge but the rate does double for the multi day events such as the World of Outlaws which we attended. There is water available to fill your tank if your arrive dry. The restrooms at the track are kept open for camper use and chemical toilets and garbage bins are placed through out. This all makes for an inexpensive enjoyable camping weekend if you enjoy racing as we do. I estimated 220 spaces, but there is plenty of space so no one is turned away; you just would have to walk a few more feet. - Procarver

Sep 2017 - $1.00
This campground is right along I-5, so although you cannot see it, you can hear traffic pretty continuously. Friends had cautioned us to have the windows down in the Jeep when we were selecting a site so we would hear whether the traffic noise was disturbing. We knew that the site had traffic noise, but thought that with the windows closed on the bus, we wouldn't hear it... it wasn't so loud as to be disruptive, but it was constant. The campground is very wooded and very long - if you select a site in the back, just driving in and out of the campground can take a while (at 5 MPH). Our nightly rate was $0 as Thousand Trails Family Courtesy Card holders. - pattic777
Aug 2017 - $0.00
This campground is Thousand Trails, and as such was set up for family camping many years ago. Amenities are older, and some could use some sprucing up, but overall the place was clean. Very dusty, but they were having a record dry spell when we were there, so it's to be expected. Obviously it would be enormously expensive and wasteful to try to "water" the roads. I'm sure they have the opposite problem when it's raining the rest of the year! There aren't any sewer hookups, so even though they may advertise them, there's only 17 out of over 200 sites and the long-term purchasers have snapped those up. Expect a more rustic camping experience, lots of trees, a nice pool-kiddie pool-hot tub area, mini-golf that could use a bit of an update, and good playground facilities. The clubhouse was very nice, and the little store there had the basics. All-in-all, a very good place to spend a couple weeks if you're a member and need to stay in the area. - Denise and Glenn
Jun 2017 - $3.00
Overall this TT campground was pretty good. Most sites are only W/E, but the bathrooms are spaced well and in good condition. As many reviews note, the roads are definitely dusty if its not raining. Sites and spacing are generally good, some sites available with more sun, some with more shade.
Our biggest problem was the electric, which couldn't handle the draw when the weather spiked into the upper-80s and had people running (multiple) ACs. - Breezy-N-Wheezy

Oct 2017 - $34.00
This park was in a great location for us. The utility hookups were great with 20-30-50 amp power. Water pressure was superb. Did not use cable and since we have DirectTV, didn't even look to see if they had it. The manager was a friendly guy. There were only two problems with the park. First, with Verizon, we only had one bar of service. Not enough to do any data with. Not the park's fault, but a problem. The second was that the wi-fi was poor to useless. That one the park could and should fix ASAP. This would be a great park if only the wifi would work. Overall, I like the park but inability to communicate to the outside world is a real problem. - raider49er
Jul 2017 - $32.00
We had a flat, level, pull through site. We had grass on both sides and a tree on one side for shade. There was a picnic table. There are many permanent residents but the RV Park was clean and quiet. AT&T works well. The WI-FI was fine. Good spot to spend a night. The manager did a great job of getting our three rigs in on the July 4th weekend. - travelcouple
Sep 2016 - $32.00
Interior roads are tight. We had a pull-through that was plenty long for our motorhome and toad. Sites are close together. - DreamCaptn

Located on a corner next to a ma and pa's restaurant. Resembles a parking lot. Kind of depressing to look at. - johnpmcelroy
