We lucked into a nice long pull-through in loop A. When we first arrived on a Monday afternoon, the board coming in said both Loop A & B were full. But we needed to go through Loop A to turn around, lots of empty sites marked as available. Loop A sites are mostly level. Sites in Loop B varied, but there are a couple of nice sites in that loop. Loop C was closed due to the fire. After putting our slides out, it was not possible to walk around out 36' motorhome. This campground is not really big rig friendly. OK if you have an older unit and or no slides. We brushed against tree branches on both sides getting out of the site. But when set up we had a nice private site, but real tight on the sides. No OTA TV reception, good Verizon cell and broadband. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You are not in the National Park here, it is in the Ross NRA part of the North Cascades NP, Ross NRA 'complex'. SR 20 does not enter the NP at any point. To get into the NP by car, the only way is to take the Cascade River Road in Marblemount and follow that for approximately 20 miles into the NP.

I have been to 35 National Park campgrounds and this ranks in the bottom half. While the sites are "woodsy" and spacious most are not level and slideouts barely make it. There is no electric and water at the sites. Worse yet, there are no showers in an area where water is not a problem. I will not return here. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Basic no hookup sites. Level sights with adequate spacing between them. Heavily forested cover so no satellite connectivity. Trash bins in our loop were full and we had to go to another loop to dump trash. Many sites were reserved but unused. This is the first time I have seen this. If you are driving along very beautiful route 20 this is a good place to stay. There are boat tours on Diablo lake operated by Skagit Tours but you need reservations very far in advance. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

$6 per night (that’s half off using our Golden Age Passport) was for a back-in primitive site in loop A of the Newhelam campground with a fire ring, picnic table, and tent pad. All sites are very level asphalt pads. The sites are mostly in the shade due to being surrounded by lots of huge trees. North Cascades National Park is spectacular. The scenic roadway has awesome vistas and pull-offs to access its hundreds of miles of trails. Bicycles are allowed on the roadways but not the trails. AT&T cell service is OK and Verizon cell service and Internet is very good in the campground but usually not available in most areas of the park. Our RV is 40'. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Can you beat staying right in a National Park? Our price reflects our senior access card. Nice trails in the park, great pull-outs for views, you can take a tour of the lake and Skagit Project (electricity for Seattle). Beautiful wooded sites well spaced throughout the campground. We reserved a site in C loop. Bathrooms were always clean but there were no showers. We would definitely return (we have lots more trails to hike.) We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Excellent park. Nice sites that are not too close together. No showers. Dump station and fresh water at the exit. Very quite and peacefull. Verizon Wi-Fi worked quite well. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best NPS campgrounds we have ever stayed at. We were in loop C (which is the reservable loop). It is in an old-growth forest (moss-covered trees, ferns, etc.), which made for very beautiful surroundings and provided plenty of shade. Camp sites have paved driveways and have good space between them, which provides for good privacy. (Much better than some other NPS campgrounds we have stayed at in the past.) Bathrooms were clean with flushing toilets. There is a dump station with fresh water to fill up the water tank. The park rangers were all very nice. The campground is very close to the park visitors center, which was handy. We loved it! Would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in this beautiful National Park campground in September and there were only three other RV's. Campsites are excellent with long back-ins and pull-thru sites. The hiking trails by the Skagit River were very nice. Since we have our senior inter agency pass for national parks we pay 50% less for camping which was $6. The park visitor center is close by and we watched to excellent movies on the Cascades. From here you can drive your tow vehicle to Gorge Dam and falls, Diablo Lake and the Ross Lake overlook. Great mountain and glacier views. Right near our campsite was the River Loop trail and it was a beautiful walk near the river and in the woods. This is an excellent place to stay in the park. We camped at Newhalem Creek (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.
