I would like to start by saying that the grounds are nice and if you are a fisher person this would probably be a great place for you. You might ask why then would I give them only one star in my review. Here you go.... 1) Speed limit in the park is a joke, it is supposed to be 10 MPH but people are going double and triple that. Small children and pets are not safe here! 2) The park is geared towards permanent residents not short term guests. There are only 4 short term sites with full hookups and they all are directly across from a very loud children's playground and right next to the main road (that everyone speeds down). I do mean right next to it, the end our our rig was within 2 feet of the road. 3) There are trains running right by the campground constantly day and night. 4) If you want to sleep don't plan on it here. In addition to the trains, and fishermen speeding past your rig starting about 5am. There are roosters that start in well before dawn. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but forfeited our 2nd night (because they have an absolute no return policy no matter how bad your stay is)!! This place needs security patrols to ensure safe speeds are maintained and to care a bit more about their campers than the random fishermen they allow in for day use. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't waste your money! If I could give NO stars I would! This place is a dump! We reserved site 107 for a single night as we were passing through. I was told it was "really nice and right by the river". Ok. The river is behind a overgrown bramble at the end of a dirt and grass lot with a rusty power pole in the middle of it and right beside a dilapidated RV turned home site with the residents shooting BB guns. When the office was notified that we were unhappy with the site (before we even set up) we were told that they would be happy to cancel our reservation to make it available for others but that they would be keeping our money. FOR WHAT?!? Showers are coin operated and not included with the fee. PortaPottys including one directly in front of our site, only two "real" bathrooms seen and not within convenient walking distance in either direction. Extremely poor customer service. Sincerely wish I had chosen another place to stay. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Truck Camper.

We started off being quite excited about this park because it has many mature trees and is very scenic. The staff were friendly and registration was easy. However, we were disappointed to discover that the restrooms were poorly maintained and that they charge for the use of the showers, which were also not clean. The cable at our site had a damaged cord and did not work. There were very few air channels to be found. The nearby trains passed frequently and were often quite loud. We will not be returning to this park. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove to Olympia and toured the capital building. We're usually not into that sort of thing, but the tour guide was amazing, the building was spectacular and we really enjoyed it.

Had a flat, level, gravel site with grass on both side of the site. Had electric and water. Plug was 50 amp so need an adapter to downsize to 30 amp. Trees in area. Free dump site when leaving. AT&T worked well. WI-FI was excellent. Heard trains passing through. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The RV park is well signed from the freeway. You have to pass through a 14 foot tunnel just before you get to the park. Tunnel did not look that high, but a 13'6" rig in our group fit with no problems.

Overall Rating:

Secluded, wooded campground. We had asked for a pull-thru when we booked in January. Upon arrival was told we were in a crack-in spot instead w/no other spots available. Roads are gravel and curvy and since we were way at the back of the campground at the dead end road, it was interesting navigating into our spot. We had to stop and walk to the spot to analyze when to unhook car/trailer but our spot was wide enough to pull the car in and drag the trailer through the rocks to park it next to the coach. Luckily there's a spur road a bit away from the spot so husband was able to back coach up past that road after unhooking so he could turn coach around to back into the spot. A LOT of work for a one-night stay! Heavy trees so no satellite, no cable but decent phone signal. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverbend Campground is a spacious, comfortable campground sprawling along the Nisqually River just east of the town of Nisqually. I stayed there in June of 2017 while I was moving out of my home in Olympia. The camping sites are generally roomy (though there was a horseshoe pit in front of mine that made backing my 5th-wheel into the site challenging), the roads are wide, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely return if my travels took me back to the Olympia area. The availability of full-hookup sites seems limited. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This CG has more permanent residents than overnighters. The full hook ups and 50 amp service seem to be for them...we got a 30 amp/water site, no sewer. We could not back our 41 ft 5th wheel into the first site assigned due to close proximity of huge trees, but were able to set up in adjacent site with no issues. The manager and another worker trimmed tree branches away that would have impacted the side and roof of our RV. Pads are gravel, mostly level. Showers cost twenty five cents a minute. Two toilets of ancient design complete the bathroom setup. Pet crap (HUGE DOG) all behind our site, left behind from previous campers. The current CG owners are working to upgrade the CG, but as it is now, way overpriced for what you get. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Most of this CG is in a forest. One of three front desk staff was friendly, the other two not so. Credit cards accepted. Was quoted one price and charged another higher price, manager came out of her office and said it was rate change, although the current map still had the old price. CG roads are asphalt in ok shape but very narrow and winding through trees. Old, tall trees with heavy underbrush but no significant overhead obstacles, sharp turns. Sites are W/E-20/30/50, most WITH NO SEWER, but CG has a dump station. Sites are dirt or weed grass, almost level, pedestal near rear. No patio, some picnic tables. Sites have fire rings. Low water pressure. Nice newer playground. No cable. We did get a few junk stations via antenna. T-Mobil coverage at "5-bars" and Wi-Fi was ok. Place needs a good grooming and the services looked to need upgrading. IMHO the place is way over priced at $40.00 USD for what we received for one night. WILL NOT STAY AGAIN, due mostly to price change. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Motorhome.

Pulled into this campground off I-5 due to traffic pile up. We arrived at about 2:30 pm, no one at the guard shack where check in is supposed to take place so another guest got us through the so called security gate, ran into the host in the grounds. There were no sites available with sewer hookup so had to settle for water and power only with only 50 and 20 amp available and no cable + wifi was sporadic. Place was in dire need of a good grooming and the services looked to need upgrading. IMHO the place is way over priced at $40.00 USD for what we received for one night. We camped here in a 5th wheel... We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park like setting along the river and off the highway but frequent trains pass nearby. Staff was friendly at check in. Some permanent residents but doesn't have too much of a trailer park ambiance. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Motorhome.

Huge number of permanent and semi permanent sites. 10 pull thru sites for overnight, 10+ more back-ins. Water and 50 amps at our site, cable TV listed, but not available at our site. Dump station nearby. Some paved interior roads, some gravel. Gravel sites, grass in between. $10 additional pet charge, $6 additional guest vehicle. Lots of rules, seem to be not enforced for the permanent residents. There is a one-way tunnel prior to the entrance; it has a 14' clearance. It was convenient for our purpose, but I would not stay here again. We camped at Riverbend Campground in a Motorhome.
