Beautiful setting but the shower house closest to RV row BB had lukewarm water, no heat, and no light fixture! The only lighting was through 2 high, small, frosted windows in an adjacent room. The sinks were plumbed with only cold water. The separate toilet building had heat and independent lighting. No cable TV available. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The golf cart traffic is awful. The last time we were woken up was 2 a.m.! Little kids and adults circling the park in these carts and stirring up dust constantly! An ambulance visited a cabin by us at about 10 or 11pm. No one was taken out, but they kept their strobe lights and sirens on the entire time. No place for rest and relaxation. Very close to highway. Maybe in the fall and spring when vacations are over it's better. The park has rules...they just don't enforce them. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Store and restaurant over the top expensive. Stock up and cook your own meals. If all you want is a place to stop overnight, stay at the new end of the park. Keep your windows and blinds closed tight and run the air conditioner to drown out park and highway noise.

If you are reading earlier reviews, please note that an entirely new section was just opened sometime in 2017 and it is a game changer. This is a beautiful campground even in the older section. They have thought of everything. We stayed in the new section and were directly facing the lake with an small beach in front of us. The pads were concrete with newly planted grass between. They were close together but not so close that you couldn't use your slides and awnings with room to spare. There is a HUGE grassy area at the end of the row for kids to play and dogs to run. As a fulltimer who shops for clean bargains for campgrounds, this was a splurge for us but well worth it. We were sad we didn't have more days to stay. Staff was over the top, exceptional! We camped at MarDon Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure to explore all of the roads across the street from the campground. They go back into other lakes etc. Some of them require a Discover Pass, but some did not. Also, make sure to visit the state park just down the road about 5 miles.

Park is located on the Pot Holes Lakes. Clean, well maintained, paved nice RV sites. Marina, restaurant, swim area, and lots do for kids. The bad side is staff directed me to our site going the wrong direction so we ended up having to go clear through the park, make a U turn and back, which isn't so bad but should not happen. Second thing for low review is this park is right on a very BUSY road so you get a LOT of noise all night and especially early morning, so if a light sleeper I would advise you stay elsewhere. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park just last weekend, staff was great, our full RV hook up was nice level, paved with grass in the back and nice fire pits. The owners have thought of everything. Old truck to launch your boat so you don't have to bring a 2nd rig if you have a Class A or C motorhome. Golf carts to travel around the camp site. Our friends were at the opposite end and it was a breeze. Just an all around nice clean and friendly camp ground with nice quality hookups and RV Pads. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Motorhome.

I have been staying at MarDon over 50 years. The campsites are tiny with 2 trees between each. They charge quite a bit and extra for mooring the boat. The docks are nice and you can sit in your boat to catch perch at night. The other campers and staff are all nice and we get a full hookup. I have camped in many nicer places with bigger sites for less money but at least we can leave the boat tied to a dock, so convenient. They have a nice little store for tackle and a restaurant I have never been in. The fish cleaning station is really nice for cleaning walleye and perch and chatting with other people. We will be back since it is good enough. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Truck Camper.

Very crowded and un-level camping sites. Restrooms were filled with bugs (dead ones, and some still flying) and were not clean. Fishermen played radios (too loud) late into the night. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Motorhome.

Extremely tight spaces! 1st site (#165) we were assigned to, there was no way we could maneuver our 29' into it! There's a fairly steep bank opposite the site & cliff down to the beach on the other side. Don't have 18 year olds w/no experience parking rigs, assigning spaces! Ended up in site #117, along the row of permanent residents. Couldn't use our fire pit: there was a 10ft sloped space between back of our trailer & the fence along (busier than you would expect) Hwy 262. 1st private park we've maybe ever stayed in, w/no TV cable offering. No grassy, open areas to even go play games/catch/frisbee. To top if off, office claimed our site was right in middle of their 2 WiFi hot-spots so if we really needed access we could find an empty site and use the picnic table. We learned the hard way, if you don't have watercraft, don't come to MarDon. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A decent park that is very popular with fishermen and boaters. We stayed at the end of the park, which was nice to be far away from the crowds. This is a gated park with several full-time/seasonal RV'ers who stay here (retirees), which is nice for keeping an eye on things. I have to say that I was skeptical about staying here after reading some of the past reviews, but we had no issues and our site was great (#165). The Potholes area is beautiful, we only wish that we had a fishing boat to get out on the water! We camped at MarDon Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here on the Passport America rate on a Sunday in a 35' motorhome. Although many sites were available, the site (149) we finally chose as the least of all evils wasn't level (our hydraulic jacks couldn't level our coach), although the setting was beautiful with the lake, the park looked very trashy. Their "best site" offered to us turned out to be behind the store/bar, next to the road, and next to the boat ramp, not our kind of site at all. Most sites are very small and pushed together. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is filthy. The Bathrooms and showers were disgusting, garbage cans dumped all over the floor and it was like that for 2 days. We pulled into a grassy site and there was dog dirt, fish heads and other debris, needless to say we moved and told the office about the sites. About three hours later someone came and cleaned up the dog dirt and that was it. It's to bad the place is such a mess as the lake is beautiful. We would never ever stay there again. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the dirtiest most crammed in rv parks I have ever been to. We were warned it was a "dump" but way worse then we ever imagined. The staff was very friendly but it does not make up for everything else. The sights are so small even our tiny travel trailer had a problem getting in. Kids, pets, cars, bikes even adults are running loose around the park. I cant even begin to explain what a "pit hole" this place is. The bugs are horrible too. I would SO reccomend the state park over this place. We would never go back. We camped at MarDon Resort in a Travel Trailer.
