This is a very pretty and spacious COE park located along the Snake River/Wallula Lake. The roads and sites are paved and in good condition. Sites are back-in or pull-thru (semi-circle pull-off) of various lengths and levelness, with large grassy areas in between and lots of trimmed shade trees. There is only electricity at the campsite but there is a large convenient dump station and water spigots are available. It was very quiet here mid-week. The price includes our federal senior pass discount. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Not far off the hwy but no road noise. Access and interior roads and site pads are paved. Our pullthru was level both ways, and it was on a hill. Sites had plenty of room and lots of trees for shade but none interfere with roads. Only electric at these sites. Dump station had separate fresh water supply for filling tank. Snake River swimming and water-sports is the thing here. Close to gas and ice, 10-15 minute drive to Pasco for everything else. No WiFi, but VzW was pretty strong. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent COE park, as usual, at a good rate for seniors with the federal passes. Nice location on the Snake River and nice grass and sites. However, if you are here in hot weather when a lot of other people are running AC units, you need to reserve a spot in the upper loop, not the lower one, as the lower one has older 30 amp service and some sites share breakers with nearby sites. The upper loop has been upgraded to 30/50 amps and has newer electric boxes and stronger service. Upper loop sites are numbered 19-69. Verizon phone and data service is adequate, but could be stronger. Also, sites are just a bit small if you have a larger RV and are towing or are towing. Also, lots of trees makes getting a satellite signal difficult. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Another fine COE park. Lots of green-space and shade. The pull-thru we got was a little cramped and had some new tree limbs that we brushed on the way in. However, the park is well situated to the entire tri-cities. The showers were "clean" but not desirable as I had to move the floor mat into my stall and got to sample the slime underneath. Eewww! OAT was good and T-Mobile good enough. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Another great COE park. The entire park was well maintained. Bathrooms were cleaned every morning and they mowed and watered the grass every week. Nearest convenience store/gas station in Burbank less than 5 miles. Laundromat in Burbank only had one working washer so we went into Pasco. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Hood Park is located on Lake Wallula. The lake is formed by McNary Lock and Dam and is near the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers. Park activities include camping, fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, and swimming. CG's sites are situated along the banks of the lake. Mature shade trees blanket most the park and provide respite from the summer sun. All 67 CG sites have electric hookups - but there are no water/sewer sites. Our was an extremely spacious and set on the CGs outer-ring, so we had no neighbors to our rear. It had a gravel, curved, level, 80ft, drive-thru parking pad. A community water spigot was located across from our site. Verizon reception was 2-3 bars. We had satellite reception, in spite of several tall shade trees. Pros: Inexpensive, absolutely beautiful, and well-maintained Army Corps of Engineers CG with spacious sites. Park staff and campground hosts excellent. Mature shade trees provide shade from summer sun. Cons: Electric-only sites. One, busy, dump station. Tall shade trees limit satellite access. Recommendation: Excellent option for a day or two while visiting the area. Try to schedule a weekday visit; locals pack the CG on weekends. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Adjacent McNary National Wildlife Refuge provides habitat for migrating waterfowl, bald eagles, shorebirds, and other wildlife. Visit the Army Corps of Engineers Ice Harbor Lock and Dam visitors center on Lake Sacajawea, about an 8-mile drive from Hood Park. It has displays and informational videos on the history of dam building on the Snake and Columbia Rivers, and staff will also schedule guided tours of the dam and its fish viewing room.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds we've stayed at. On the banks of the Snake river. Lush grass, huge trees, and level, pull through asphalt sites. Lot's of space between sites, separated by grass. No water or sewer at site, just 50 amp power. However, there is a water fill station and dump station in the campground. ATT good, no WIFI, no cable, no pool, no club house. There is only one bath house, with 2 mens showers to service 100 plus sites. A real bargain at $13 a night or $6.50 with senior pass. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Great COE Park in the Tri-Cities, Washington area! Nice big sites, both pull through and back ins. ONLY power, no water/sewer at sites, but there is a dump station to use on your way out. Water spigots located throughout the park are non-threaded. Some of the power poles are not at 'end' of sites but in the middle, so if you connect at the back of your rv, you may have a tough time reaching the pole!

Grounds were for the most part clean, but lots of dog droppings and cigarette butts can be seen around the park! Nice and quiet area. Cell signals from Verizon and AT&T are great, no TMobile signal at all. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This campground contains 2 loops. Portions of both loops look over the Snake River. Those sites that face the river tend to be a little more crowded with lots of children. The first loop is also noisier due to the proximity of US-12. All of the interior roads are paved and the sites are on asphalt. The two-way roads as well as the entry way into the park are very narrow. There is only one dump station, which is poorly designed, at the entrance to the park. Only one RV can enter or leave at one time. Fresh water is also available at the dump station. There is usually a line of 4 or more RVs waiting to do a dump around check-out time. All sites have 20/30/50 amp electrical service along with a picnic table and fire ring. The voltage was very good, hovering around 120 volts. Most of the sites were fairly level. The length of each site varies. Some of the pull-throughs can accommodate a large rig. During our stay the trees were dropping their leaves and dripping sap. Neither WiFi nor cable is available. The bathroom had (2) showers per gender. This does not seem adequate considering the number of sites this campground has. There is a playground within the center of the second loop. Non-threaded spigots are located throughout the park. The camp hosts keep this park extremely clean. There is a free picnic area that allows swimming at the beach next to the campground. Check-in at this park is after 2 PM with no exceptions. If you come early, there is an overflow area that you can park your RV and wait. Gates are closed at 10 PM. During our stay the park at night was extremely quiet. We would come back to this park. We have a 32 foot RV. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Great campground!! We had site 58 which is a pull through right on the water. Much to my surprise I even had sat service through the trees. The only thing to be aware of is that the space is the typical "loop" so it's not straight and access was a bit tight for our 44' motorhome. Fortunately we arrived early enough that the folks that came into 57 right behind us had not arrived. Otherwise we would have had an issue with their truck being slightly in out access.

At check in I asked if we needed to unhook the toad and was told "no problem" which was not the case. Due to the radius of the loop the power pedestal as a bit of an issue but once we unhooked we were OK. Now that I know the issues I would not hesitate to come again and get the same site.

Access roads are good but watch the speed pumps. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Stayed four nights in a 43' coach. Electric only (50A) back-in site (#38). Check-in is smooth. Roads and sites are paved. Facilities are well maintained with two dump sites available. Water is available at different locations adjacent to sites. Many mature shade trees provide great cover for outdoor activities. Lots of space between sites. Our site had partial shade with clear sight for satellite reception. Park is adjacent to Snake River and a boat launch is part of the park for jet-ski or boat launch. Great park, as are all the COE parks I've visited. The parks I have been to were built in the early to mid 1900's, as huge water projects were being built. This park was built in 1950 as part of the McNary Dam project and is very well maintained. Our forefathers really had it together on these projects. The spaces are large compared to what we find in modern campgrounds and the prices remain very affordable. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We've stayed here many times and will be back again. Rate reflects America the Beautiful Access Pass discount. This park only has power at the sites. There is a dump station with fresh water by the exit. Very well laid out, lots of shade trees, and lots of fun being right on the river. The gate is closed at 10pm so beware late nights or you won't be able to get back in. This park is an outstanding value and also very beautiful. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.
