Spaces and roads are tight but we had no trouble with our 38' 5th wheel. Site was very easy to enter and exit. Not much space between sites but the uphill ones are terraced so we were looking over our downhill neighbors instead of right into them. OK place to walk dogs. Antenna TV got only Canadian stations. Saw lots of dishes so satellite must be okay. Owners are struggling with their wifi which is very poor, worked maybe 10% of the time and then so slowly it was nearly useless. Verizon Hotspot worked very well. We would stay again if we could get in same uphill area. Very convenient location for doing the national park. Cape Flattery is a full day trip. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park owners are a wonderful family who go out of their way to help with any questions, issues, etc. The laundry facilities offer a stove, refrigerator, sink for people in tents, a beautiful TV to use whenever and new washer and dryers. They are the most expensive I have ever used though at 2.50 per load, but they are nice. Bathrooms are also very nice. Wonderful trails adjacent to the campground for walking. The owner has a wonderful list of restaurants and area attractions to give out. Wifi is bad unless you have a hotspot but they are working on it. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sabai Thai restaurant is excellent! Get the White King Salmon in red curry sauce special. Must go to Hurricane Ridge and do at minimum the Hurricane Hill Hike....if you are in good shape, do the Klahhane Ridge one. Amazing views from both!! If you are coming from north of Seattle, take the ferry from Coupeville to Port Townsend and save yourself a lot of time and aggravation by avoiding the Seattle/Tacoma traffic. Make a reservation though, the ferries are busy.

Great park. New owners are very friendly and are trying really hard to bring the park quality up. They helped us into our spot and made sure that we had everything we needed. The only downside as in most RV parks was the Wi-Fi was marginal and did not work the first two days we were here. The restrooms were kept clean and stocked. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice staff. Even offered to find us a place to park our trailer if we arrived early and our spot was still occupied. Lots of info about the area available from office staff.

Our site was #39, a pull through right next to the road so we pulled thru backwards and we then faced a small pond.

As others have noted the WiFi is marginal as it's satellite internet. I switched over to my Verizon personal hotspot and had great internet.

The park is older but well maintained. Many of the sites are very close together. Clear signs of the 30 amp service arcing against the power box so I used the 50 amp and a dogbone to 30 amp. There are tall trees, short trees and shrubbery. Lots of open space if you need TV, just ask. Restrooms/showers are fairly new construction and are very nice and kept very clean. Sign in the office says pet sitting services are available. Nice touch!

The park is very busy and very close to full if not full. Only nice people come here and they bring their nice children with them as it's very family friendly.

Much to see and many trails to hike in the Olympic National Park and surrounding areas. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a good campground but it was kind of tight and the sites seemed to be added in spurts because they were all over the place and some on angles and others straight in. The roads were mostly paved but were narrow and tight to maneuver.
There was a mix up on our reservation, assigning us to a site that was way smaller than we needed with full hookups. Luckily they had another site but it was only 30 amp and no sewer. They did dump our tanks with a portal unit free of charge though.
The site was all grass, shaded but unlevel. Had to pack in over quite a few hills to get in.
I think we would stay again but would definitly want a better site. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall this is a nice campground. It has a lot of tent spaces as well as RV spaces.

Not all sites are equal! Some are very close together and are just inches from each other such as sites 2 through 18. Most of the sites in 20 - 37 are full timers. A few have a clean site but most of them are very trashy and unkempt. Site 38 is a nice spot for a large rig that is back in and has a nice size grassy area. Sites 41-52 are pull-throughs for big RVs. They are gravel sites with a small grassy area. Site 41 is very small as is site 52, both of which are on either end. The sites with the largest grassy areas start at the top of the hill at number 51 and the grassy area gets smaller with each site down to site 41 with hardly any grassy area at all.

Across from 41-52 and scattered all throughout the park, are tent spaces. There are several defined spaces and when those are full, they just let people camp wherever they want in the common spaces. Someone actually pitched a tent under the volleyball net one night rendering it unusable by anyone wanting to play.

The new owners are really sweet and have great plans for the park. It will be an even better place to stay once they are able to implement their plans. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an old park with small sites that recently acquired new owners who are trying to make improvements. The roads are narrow and winding, so backing into the site was a challenge. The short site was slightly unlevel with E/W/S and bushes close by on each side. There is no tv or wifi but reasonable cell service. We would not stay here again. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is near the old Elwha Dam site where an informational kiosk has been located. It was raining so we did not visit the dam removal site. Port Angeles is a short distance away but we did not spend any time there other than to catch the ferry to Victoria, BC.

Elwha Dam RV Park and Campground, owner at Elwha Dam RV Park responded to this review

We are sorry that your site and experience was not the best. We give the best site available at the time of reservation. Site 20 (49x40) is actually a favorite for many of our campers who prefer more private woodsy setting, so it may have not been on our radar at the time of reservation that wouldn't be a match for you. We would be happy to make it right with you if you give us a call. Also, even though you say you won't come back, as far as our park, we actually do have many newer sites, pull throughs up to 70x30, new bathrooms, and a new club house. We also do have WiFi (though because it is accessed by radio tower, it can be very slow on days when the mountains are stormy). Hope you have great adventures ahead. ~owner Chris

This is a terrific, family-run park that we will most definitely return to. I see that a previous reviewer said there's no wifi. We also stayed the same month that person did, and there was, indeed, relatively good wifi available. It worked well during the day but slowed down in the evenings, just like we see at most parks. The family that owns and manages the park is so nice. You'll never find a more receptive host. They have a lot of garden space, which they encourage their guests to enjoy. Depending on the time of year, they have berries and a variety of vegetables for guests to pick. Yes, some of the spaces are tight, but I checked several other RV parks in the area during our stay, and this one is tops in our opinion. We have a 43 ft diesel pusher with an SUV in tow, and we managed just fine in this park. I recommend asking for a space on the back row near where they keep the horses if you have a big rig. The campground is ideally located for exploring the various opportunities in Olympic National Park, as well as along the coastline (which is incredible). We've traveled all over North America, and this spot is our second favorite, right behind one gem of a spot in Alaska. We can't wait to return. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very pretty rustic type of RV park. Sites are ample in size with pull through being long enough for coach and toad. sites are terraced down a slight hill. Site surface is gravel and reasonably level. Utilities are placed in the rear quarter of the site and function as designed. There is no cable and only limited OTA TV. Satellite is possible from the pull through sites and maybe from some others. The wifi is not strong but sufficient for light browsing. Office staff was exceedingly helpful in providing information on the surrounding area. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

Older park but new owners are working hard to make improvements. Easy check in, we were escorted to our site. Hookups worked well. No cable. The owner was very helpful with suggestions on things to do in the area. There is a trail leading to the former dam site just outside the campground entrance. Wish we could of stayed longer. We stayed here based on previous reviews from others and location. We knew immediately upon check in, we'd made the right choice. The park has mixed sites, some open, some shaded and includes pull throughs. The layout is great with easy access for big rigs. The new owners are fully committed to customer service and it's apparent during check in but doesn't stop there. They went above and beyond with personal daily interaction seeing to our needs and stopping by to chat. They were full so the owner personally escorted us the one of several tent sites where I had no problems parking my 41' Pusher with jeep in tow. Moreover the site was just beautiful. Service, location and site were so good we cancelled our next park to stay on two additional days. This location is the perfect basecamp for all area attractions and I highly recommend it. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate above is for a week. As others have noted, the new owners (as of May 2015) are wonderful and excited about their park. The campground has two sections, the old section (close to the office) is wooded with mostly back-in sites, and has a number of full-time residents (relatively tidy/clean) in the spaces around the perimeter. The new section is all pull-throughs for big rigs along a hill with no trees. We were in the last site of the new section. This site's camping-side grass area was much smaller than the other pull-throughs (i.e. fairly close to our neighbor), but being the last site meant our curb-side had a nice unobstructed view of the field where the owners' horses grazed every day. Some of the campground's sites were a little close together, but none were right on top of each other, so we were satisfied with the spacing, even for our smallish site. The pond, field, playground and other features gave the park a nice rustic feel. The loop trail and dam trail were great for walking our active dog. The WiFi was unusably slow most of the time, but our Verizon jetpack had excellent signal. Our AT&T phones worked but had a weak signal and slow data speeds. During the day there was some noise from trucks on the nearby highway but at night it was silent. Fire rings are available from the office. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Elwha Dam RV Park in a Motorhome.

The campground is just a few miles from the entrance to Olympic National Park's Hurricane Ridge area. If you go, try to wait for a clear day! It was hazy and humid when we went so the views were not as clear.
