This park is difficult to rate. Many spots are full-timers who live in really run down travel trailers, and a couple have junk piled around them. There are several park model-type homes as well, some new, some old. There are also several full-timers who take very good care of their space by mowing their lawns and planting flowers and vegetables. The camp host works day and night. He and his wife are very friendly and offered to take us into town with them when they went grocery shopping since we didn't have a tow vehicle. There's only one washer and dryer, but the room is kept tidy. Our spacious spot was on grass and not level at all made worse when someone drove through it while the ground was wet and left deep ruts. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. The electric must have been updated as there was a nest of wires covered with a bucket next to the circuit breaker. This park has a very casual policy regarding dogs being off leash and not being picked up after, but most people lived by the rules. Most of the residents were very friendly, but there were a few that had some heavy traffic in and out which could be suspect. Also, being near the highway could be noisy at times. There were several large mature trees, but not at our site. There is a large, beautiful grassy area for the tent campers separate from the RV area. There's also a 9-hole golf course behind the RV park that's decent and golf carts and clubs are available. Everyone obeyed the 5 mile-an-hour rule up and down the rock and dirt road so no dust was really ever kick up. We would come back if we were on a tight budget or no other parks in the area were available. GPS and signage got us right to the park. We camped at Salt Creek RV Park & Golf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The general store in Joyce is 3 miles away and the prices aren't too high. The store also has a post office and gasoline. Crescent Beach is 4 miles away, but be careful, a large section of the beach is private, characterized with poles and flags. There are tide pools for exploring and shells for collectors. Crescent Lake was about 8 miles away. The area is very beautiful, but be careful not to feed the ducks or the duck police will scold you.

We were so thrilled to have found this park. Although a bit out of town (15-20 min), it turned out to be a perfect location for us to cruise around the area from. There are several full timers which you see when you first enter the park which I was skeptical about when we arrived, but when we pulled around to the pull through lots, it is perfect. RV park hosts great. They are so welcoming and friendly. We are pulling a trailer behind our motorhome and we were assisted with his truck to park it next to us. While we were there, we went to Victoria Island on the ferry for three days and felt very comfortable with leaving everything behind. Although we thought we would only stay a few days, we stayed ten days. Beautiful golf course here too and only $10 to play all day. Very accommodating for all our needs. Laundry room only has one washer and one dryer and is a bit dated, but only $1.00 per load and things came out clean. Our lot had a fire pit and picnic table too...and Wi-Fi is included. The weekly rate breaks down to $20 per day. Lots of tents sites available, too. This is a gem and not to be confused with the recreation park across the street. We looked there...too many people packed in. We camped at Salt Creek RV Park & Golf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out Neah Bay...great hike down to ocean...also the Port Angeles Art Park- great hike through woods to see all kinds of art pieces...Hurricane Ridge is A MUST!!!

We made this reservation by accident, thinking we were talking by phone with another campground with similar name. If we had seen it first, we probably wouldn't have tried to stay there, but we would have missed out on a good experience. Most of the long-term residents in quite elderly trailers seem to be working class folks. All were friendly, and camp hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were assigned a nice level grass site with full hookups, a picnic table and plenty of room for our tow vehicle. The park has limited amenities, and the trash cans were filled to overflowing several times during our week-long stay. However, there is a 9 hole golf course affiliated with the park where guests can rent a cart and golf all day for just $10. Salt Creek RV Park is a very casually run operation (cash or check only with no deposit down and an equally casual reservation system). However, it is very convenient to the Olympic National Park, and met all our needs. WiFi was included with our $105 plus electric weekly rate -- and it worked pretty well in the early morning hours. We camped at Salt Creek RV Park & Golf in a Motorhome.

$15 per night (that’s the weekly rate which is half off the daily rate of $29) was for a full hookup site with a fire ring & picnic table. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area. All sites are mostly level gravel pads. The sites have full sun for half the day & shade for the rest. We used the campground (actually located in Joyce) as our base to visit the northern section of Olympic National Park. It is also near to Port Angeles and Sequim which offer shopping and dining aplenty. Olympic National Park is spectacular with its diversity. The scenic roadways have awesome vistas and pull-offs to access its hundreds of miles of trails. Bicycles are allowed on the roadways but not the trails. AT&T service was three bars of 4G LTE and our Milliencom jetpack was getting two bars of 3G so we used them both for internet access as the free campground Wi-Fi was mostly unusable. We camped at Salt Creek RV Park & Golf in a Motorhome.

Don't know why this park has not been rated before. We visited all the parks in Port Angeles area: not many good options. Yes, the county park is ok but very noisy. This park is great, off the main hiway, and very quiet at night. Close to all the places one wants to visit. The owner is a great guy. The nightly rate is $24, but the weekly rate is $95, a great deal when the rest of the parks around are about twice that. Yes, there is a lot of full time residents, but they are very laid back and tend to keep an eye on things for you when your out exploring. WiFi was great. Has satellite TV and internet great. Verizon cell excellent. We would highly recommend this park. We camped at Salt Creek RV Park & Golf in a Fifth Wheel.
