On a big hill so not great for big rigs with toads. Tight turns, lots of trees scratching the sides. Small spaces. Few for big rigs and no parking for the tow. Many parked in from of their rig partially blocking the road. First site we were in we couldn't level, even with blocks. They were nice enough to move us. Very dusty. Lots of road noise. Very expensive gas. But it was the only thing available in the area. . Might be an ok place for small campers. But we wouldn't stay there again. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Reservation was correct. Staff was friendly and efficient. Sites are tight. There are trees that provide a visual break between rows but neighbors are very close. Sites are assigned based on the length of your rig. Tow vehicle is parked perpendicular to trailer. Still took up some of the roadway but thankfully there wasn't a lot of traffic. Our fire pit had some empty pop cans in it when we arrived so I didn't rate the park cleanliness as perfect. Road noise is significant, and it doesn't quiet down at night as much as I had expected. 60 mph speed limit plus lots of cars pass on this stretch crossing rumble strips making even more noise. WiFi can get annoying as it disconnects frequently. The park provided us access to trails we wanted to explore, but I wouldn't consider this a destination park. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The store was well stocked, and the gas station made fueling very convenient. Granny's Café is just down the road and has good food. Biking and hiking trails are nearby as well as Lake Sutherlin and Lake Crescent.

We stopped for one night and wanted to be close to Port Angeles to take the ferry to Victoria. Since all the parks in the area were full we stayed here because they had a cancellation. It was OK for a nights stay and the site itself was very nice. Staff were friendly and there was a large store on the property where we checked in which was fun to walk through. Probably wouldn't stay again because there didn't seem to be much for us to do here or in the immediate area. Hookups worked well. There was a large area with some dry grass surrounded by woods with sand volleyball courts but we didn't use any of that really. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

While at Crazy Horse we met a couple from this area that asked why we chose to stay here--kinda alarmed us, & for no reason, it was fine. [In fact the county park CG near the water they recommended was an open sunny crowded field which we would have hated.] Clean showers & restroom, nice laundry facilities & had nice wooded tent sites which others in our party used. Trailer spots were measured so they know exactly what will fit, but they allowed us to move up to third row to a shorter space to be nearer the tenting area. Tow vehicles park parallel in front of the campers & if everyone is mindful they all fit nicely. Spots are close together but we had no disturbances. Highway noise wasnt as big a problem as we feared. Tenters could hear cars hitting the edge alerts or a loud bike now and then but inside a camper no problem. Roads were dirt but dust wasnt bad, each site had a tree or two and I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. It is for sale, though. Staff was helpful & friendly & our neighbor was in a vintage truck camper working there for the summer from the east coast. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ok RV park, the sites are kind of short. Our 36' motorhome just fit, I don't think anything longer would fit here. Wifi is terrible, but that seems to be the case in most RV parks. No cable and satellite is sketchy, we got it but the friends we were traveling with did not. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

We read the earlier reviews, and in spite of some negative comments, decided to stay because of the proximity to the National Park and Forest; and are happy we stayed here.

We had a back-in site, with adequate WiFi connection; the laundry had two tables for folding clothes.

Although their was noticeable noise from 101, it was not so loud as to disrupt our activities (including sleeping)!!

Note: the general store and campground is still for sale!! We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are terraced on a forest hillside. The sites are quite short and narrow with very little parking space for a car. Full hookup sites, but only 30 amp available. WiFi is weak and trees blocked satellite reception. Good Verizon cell and MiFi reception. There is daytime road noise, but it is much quieter at night. Only two washers and two dryers in the laundry and no folding table. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Can't see the mountains from most sites because trees have been allowed to go unpruned for years. Satellite dishes and WiFi unusable. No cable TV. Most pads have only 30 amp service. The park and adjacent general store are for sale. The new owner will have to fix all these problems to bring the campground up to modern standards. It's 15 miles out of Port Angeles, a charming place with good restaurants and ambiance. Distance is only a minor factor for Olympia National Park, which has at least four entrances, two of them in town. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

As others have stated, this is a very nice park. Probably one of the best in the area. Centrally located to hit the high spots like Olympic NP, Cape Flattery, Forks, HOH rain forest, etc. 43' coaches fit well in the first row. WiFi times out multiple times per hour and requires to you sign in. Road noise is noticeable during the day, but real quiet at night. The owners are good people and really care for this place. We would return next time we're here. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice terraced site with easy back-in access for 25 ft van but don't suppose it'd be so good for big rigs. Only one other visiting van in the two nights we stayed. There is a Grill but it was just basically burgers so we did without. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

The owners actually work in the camp, the store and its grill (the food is good and the prices are reasonable). VERY friendly and easy to interact with. Just enjoyable people. Each row in the RV Pk is terraced which gives more privacy. The wind break trees in the front will block most of the views. We were in the 2nd site, 1st row and could see the mountain across from us. They are well spaced apart and the back-in for my 36' 5th wheel was not a problem. Park is very clean and well maintained. The only downsides are no TV (not a bad break for a change) and the Wi-Fi was like most parks - not very good. We used our wireless modem most of the time. We checked out other parks on US 101 and this one was by far the best one. Granny's Café is close by - the food is fair and over-priced. In Port Angeles, KoKopells food is above average. In Port Angeles the Café Garden is in a beautiful setting and the food was EXCELLENT! We ate there twice. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I agree this is the better park in the area aesthetically and the proximity to local area attractions is not excessive. The spacing of sites is more than the usual commercial RV park. The road noise is apparent but not obnoxious or disturbing. The pay showers are a drawback; I do not understand or appreciate. The dusty roads in the park needs to be addressed, but it has not rained here in nearly two months. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Extremely clean and well-kept park. Other reviews mention road noise; didn't find this disturbing. Older review also mentions aging plumbing that left orange stains on clothing. We did 5 loads of laundry and had no such experience. We did notice an odor of sulfur in the water, not unusual considering the proximity to Sol Duc Hot Springs in Olympic National Park. Owners were watchful but not disagreeable. We were grateful for their oversight of the facility. Had one minor problem with a toilet in the men's room, which the owner immediately addressed upon notification. We loved the look of the place compared to other campgrounds in the area and would definitely stay here again! We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A nice, older campground on a hillside near lakes Crescent & Sutherland. We fell in love with Crescent Lake as we were driving East on 101. Stopped at this campground to be close to lake activities. I can understand the issues campers have had with the longer coaches & short spaces here. Some spaces on the front row 37 & 40 are 44' long with room to put the toad sideways in front. Spaces 2-5 are 70' long. We could not level on 3 & only got close on 2. We watched a coach give up on 4 & move to 40 where it is tight but level. The gentleman even purchased leveling blocks from the camp store before he moved spaces. The staff was very helpful even when we needed to change spaces. Must agree with prior reviews we have noticed the road noise at night when the truckers are rolling. I can vouch for the burgers & fresh cut fries at the deli. Pricey but really good. Ice cream cones looked delicious & very generous. The specials seem to be the good value. The store has staple items + some camping needs and gifts. Owners are ready to sell the campground, and are a bit fussy about the unusual 1 way road which isn't marked as to where 2 way resumes. and, also apparently as mentioned with kids & pet owners. Not sure we would return here. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here because it was the only campground we found in the area offering nearby food service; the store had a grill - the hamburgers were pricy but great. The campground was noisy, as it was adjacent to the highway. The truckers often used their jake brakes, making it even noisier. My major complaint was with the showers. I was undressed, in the shower, turned the water on -- oops, no water. Then, thanks to another guest, I discovered it was a pay shower. Nowhere in the advertisements or literature does this fact get mentioned. I do not typically carry money to the shower, so had to abort the process and get redressed. Very inconvenient--would highly recommend that this fact be communicated to guests. We camped at Shadow Mountain Campground RV Park in a Tent Trailer.
