If you are looking for a place with roomy sites and beautiful landscaping, this is not it. If you want to be on the water, with 3 restaurants across the street & an easy 15 min walk to town, this is the place for you. There is a small beach. Fabulous views of Port Townsend Bay & Admiralty Inlet. Most of the sites are close together (front door to front door) but some do have more space and those have a picnic table. There is convenient parking for visitors. They have a very clean laundry with new machines. It's also very pet friendly. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Using 'resort' is s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g the definition way beyond what it is meant to be. Simply put, it's pretty much a bare bones place to camp. Be that as it may, we continue to camp here here year after year for several reasons. (1) it's right on the waters of Admirality Inlet, the main shipping lane into Seattle and to the naval bases in Kitsap and Bremerton; (2) the weather is generally good; (3) it's within fairly easy walking distance of beautiful downtown Port Townsend; and, (4) there's so much to do see in the area, you can't get bored. As for the campground itself; the spaces are all gravel and at lot of them are rather tight, as in close to your neighbor and not always enter to get your rig in and out of. All sites are full hookups, except #360 and #362 which are dry camping only. Premium sites (305, 306, 307, 322, 328, 332, 335) are nearest the water so there's not another rig blocking your view. Naturally, these are the most popular sites and advance reservations are a must (we've already reserved our choice spot for the fall of 2019). In the 'loop' side of the campground, sites 338-347 on the front row, face the water, giving motorhomes a water view through the windshield; if your 5th wheel has a rear living room, then the hook-ups will be on the off side. Sites 349-358 are in the 2nd row with the view obscured by the front row folks. The campground can handle big rigs - with the caveat of some tricky maneuvering necessary for certain sites. Generally speaking, most of the front row sites(except 305 and 306, which are limited to rigs 25-ft or less) would be my choice for big rigs. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Difficult arrival as registration office was somewhat hidden & signage misleading. You will need to park your rig on the sidewalk or partially in the street & walk between buildings to reach the office in back by the marina. We passed it by & the cafe to a dead end at the waters edge. Managed a hard turn arround. Assigned Site 310 gravel with a front entrance. Because our rig & the water view was in the back we pulled in the wrong direction. We did have extra long connections which were necessary. The sewer connection is a raised 45° so incline is not attainable for drainage. No picnic tables in the site but there are a few along the water. The advantage here is the water front, marina & proximity to the cute town shops & touring. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground can be summed up by: location, location location. We have had several sites at this campground and have enjoyed them all. The views are stupendous: cruise ships heading up towards the Inland Passage, paddleboarders, canoers, yachters, school kids learnign about sailing and boat making and repairing. We even saw a Navy ship or two. And the lights across the bay are visible. We walked in to town, along the beach, out to Glass Beach. So many things to do, so many places to visit - and this campground is close to them all. Now, it's not a beautiful campground but the sites are big enough for large rigs and a vehicle, there is grass between some sites and a few trees. We've been here 3 times and it's is one of our favorite campgrounds. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Stayed in site 311. We parked facing the water so it put our hookups on the opposite side. It worked well for us because it gave us a great view. It was windy and stormy and it was fabulous. The park isn't fancy by any means but you can't beat the view. There is a laundry room and shower area. Full hookups throughout. You can walk to town from here, catch a ferry to the fort and just explore this beautiful area. If you're looking for a lot of resort amenities this isn't for you. If you want R&R this is a great place. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

We camped on the water in site 305. The water, mountain views are just amazing at this site, and few others too. Not much privacy, but knew that from before. Gavel lot, with hook ups, and cable. You need to pay for WiFi, but cell service us great. We arrived this time, and someone had not left our reserved site. They did return around 7:30pm and camp host took care of everything for us, along with the office. Great service by them to get in our site, and thank you. Not sure why people think it's ok to do this. Weather was great, and sea life was active with grey whales this trip. Will be back in the Fall if Fort Worden SP is full. The very best thing about Point Hudson is the view! The park bends around Port Townsend Bay and Admirality Inlet (the main ship route into the Seattle Harbor). The park has two sections--the "Point" is on the east side, and the "Loop" is towards the west. Premium sites in the "Point" are parallel to the water with the nose of your rig pointed west (so you have that great water view view). Premium sites in the "Loop" are back-in so the nose of your rig is pointed at the water. If you have a rear living room arrangement you may want to pull through for the best view. All sites are gravel (pretty much level), without grass and trees. Each site has good placement of power, water and sewer. Sites 322,328,and 335 in the "Point"provide the most space freedom. Other sites are very close together (at least in our opinion). If you're looking for a park with a myriad of amenities, this isn't the park for you. But there are 'natural' amenities galore...the Inlet, the Bay, the wildlife, and of course, the big ship activities, the marina, and walking trails. There are three restaurants in the park; Doc's, Point Hudson Cafe and Shanghai Restaurant. Others have mentioned that reservations are helpful at Doc's. Reservations are pretty much a 'must' especially for weekends and at any time during the summer. This is our third time here and we just made reservations for the fall of 2018. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Port Townsend is an historic old town and very enjoyable fun strolling through the main part of town. Lots of little shops, and good restaurants to visit. For groceries, there is a big Safeway and slightly smaller QFC, both on the west end of town. You can spend a fun couple of hours doing a round trip Washington State ferry ride from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island and return.

We were lucky to get a site for one weeknight with just a few days notice. We have been here twice before. See my July 2013 and 2015 reviews for a more detailed description of the park. Once again, we had a FHU in the open section with water and distant mountain views. The cable TV was good but the Wi-FI is still, as others have noted, extra. The bathrooms were clean this time - we must have been here right after them being cleaned. There are no recreational facilities in the park. I still don't see any recycling in the park. While the park's mediocre facilities and amenities rate a 4 or 5 at best, the location adds a point or two. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

The best park about this park is it is on the water. You can look outside and see the sound from everywhere. It is a gravel parking lot but everything works and if you want to be on the water and downtown it is perfect. I love this place for those reasons. You are right on top of your neighbor in a gravel parking lot but everyone happy and you are ten feet from the shore. Lots of birds everywhere. Marina with lots of boats and two minutes walk into town. The park office is fine. You have a hard time getting a reservation July and August so either you move around a bunch or not on the weekends when it is full. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

First trip out this season, and we wanted to return, and be on the beach. Site 307. This site is right on the water. Gavel lot, mostly level, not much privacy, friendly neighbors, clean, two great restaurants in harbor, WI FI is a added cost. Town has a lot to offer, so explore. Visit Fort Worden. Its hard to rate this park as it's mostly just gravel, but depending on site, and activities this is a 9 for me. Was end of long trip, could have stayed at Fort Worden which is awesome, but wanted a little city, a great view. My site had the view of 180 degrees of water boats, seals, ferries. The port has a couple of restaurants, but never ate at them, but have been busy on my visits. Site was ok level, cell is good, you have to pay for WiFi. Sites have a dump, water, power, but poles need replacing. Town has a lot to offer in the swing season still too, and will be back in Spring. We have a 45' motor home and must be level in order to extend our slides. Our size and leveling limitations eliminates many choices of locations. If you have a spot right next to the water then the value would be more in line with the price. The only thing this place offers is proximity to Port Townsend and exceptional views. Returned again this year, early season discount, and beach site. Watching ships go by. Staff very nice, restrooms clean. Yes it is an open parking lot, and some sites are better. We had 307, and you can't get much closer to the beach. They charge for wi fi now, and for the costs. It was a disappointment. You bridge your phone, and area has 4G LTE. Fabulous views of the water and boat traffic. Very clean. Close to cafes, restaurants and town. It is not a huge RV Park and felt a bit close to the rig on the other side of us, but everyone respectful of their own spaces. I last reviewed this park in 2012. Not much change from my other review except for the prices, $35 for a "non water view" and this is "winter" rates. The price is "all in" and was not delineated by base rate plus taxes and fees. No discounts. The laundry prices are still the same. Not bad. One change is no more free Wi-Fi. Instead, there is an "hourly rate" Wi-FI available. I used my Verizon JetPack and had no problem. Cable TV had a large variety of digital channels. If you can't find something to watch of your interest, well, who knows. IF you don't like the cable, you can get a few local channels over the air to include five "inspirational" channels that come in very clear. The only negative about this park is that if it's full, the sites are rather close together. And as I mentioned in my prior review, Site 311 is way too close to the driving area. But if you don't tow a car, this is the best place to be with the downtown area within walking distance and there is convenient mass transit available. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you don't tow a car, the mass transit is very convenient. Also, you can go all over the peninsula, as the various counties around the Olympic Peninsula "hooked up" their transit systems so you can connect easily from one to another. However, to do this, you do have to plan carefully and watch the time.
