We gave it an average rating because it is really just a grass field with hookups but at least it is easy for a 45' motor home to get in and out of and is conviently located behind the fairgrounds. If fact, we would stay here again if in the area. At least the price was right and cell service was good - Verizon. You choose your site when you arrive so if not busy, there is plenty of room to spread out. We called ahead for reservations. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

After booking a KOA further north to the tune of about $500 for the week, :-0, I quickly changed those plans to another RV park closer to Seattle. On one review site it received 3 stars but as our stop in Seattle was approaching, I checked again. It was getting 1 star at best with reviews of taped up and unusable sewers and other horror stories. So, once again I cancelled our reservations after reserving with the fair grounds. It's extremely hard to find good campgrounds in this area without booking out months in advance. This has been a very adequate place to check out Seattle and the surrounding areas. As another reviewer stated, the sounder train is within walking distance and is an awesome way to get in and out of Seattle. There are numerous stores and restaurants around, some within walking distance. We have full hook ups that work and the cost was $100 cheaper than the taped up sewer guys. One thing to note is there are none of your typical amenities that you find at most campgrounds. That means no bathrooms/showers/laundry facilities. With full hook ups bathrooms/showers weren't an issue for us. We used a laundromat not far from here that had great machines. There is also a 'green lot' with water/electric but I never found it. Since we stayed for 9 days, we wanted full hook ups. There is some train noise but nothing too offensive. You're snuggled in next to a nice residential area and they survive the noise on a daily basis. Really no big deal, I've stayed at noisier campgrounds with people talking within feet of my bedroom window. If your a light sleeper, earplugs will fix the problem. If we return to the area again and it's not the rainy season, we will definitely stay here. It was nothing more than a big grassy field with hook ups but that meant enough room to spread out! We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

We stayed here at the State Fairgrounds RV park, because it was so hard to find a decent rv park in the area. It is a grassy field with full hookups, and 50 amp. The host was very helpful with info, and she is very kind! There is a very busy street next to the rv park! Bring your ear plugs! We had to wear ear plugs to sleep, but we managed to rest. We would return if in the area again. A great bargain considering the cost of RV parks in the Seattle area. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It is close to Tacoma and the Glass Museum, as well as Point Defiance Park and Zoo. We took the Sounder train to Seattle to see Pike Place and the Space Needle. The train station is within walking distance from the fairgrounds.

The Firestation Grill down the street within walking distance serves great deli sandwiches, pizza, and beer. The Museum of Glass in Tacoma is a must see! Take your bicycles and lunch to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. It is beautiful! They have a biking trail on the 5-mile road, that you can also drive your car. The Sounder train to Seattle is the way to go to avoid horrendous traffic on the I-5 and I-99!

Staying here for 4 nights. Lady host is very friendly and helps you find your spot. Sites are on grass and when it rains, your jacks will sink in unless you put pads under them. Lady says in the winter time, she has to wear boots everyday as water is several inches deep in the sites. They are backin sites with the hookups behind your rig. We had to use 3 sewer hoses to reach from the middle of our mh to the back of the site. Electric and water are back there also. Our cats loved being on the grass and the lady host has quite a few cats that wander around that she nurtures from the pound. Want a kitty? She a quite a few for you to look at! Take one home. Will stay here again when passing thru as is close to hwy 167 and on to hwy 5. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

The "orange" lot is a grass field with full hookups including 50 amp electric. The "green" lot is a grass field with 30 amp electric, water and a dump station. Both are right next to the Washington State fair grounds. Satellite TV or OTA only. Hookups are at the very back of each space so you may need long hoses/cables. There was no fair at the time of my stay so it was quiet at night. Roads are gravel, parking is on grass. No picnic table or fire ring. Even though the next camper was about 15 feet away it looked like, from the utility hookups, that another camper could be inserted into that space. Most sites are back in with a few pull through. Verizon has strong signal. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Would be ideal for state fair events, and is close enough to Mt Rainier National Park for a day trip. A longer day trip to Olympic National Park is possible too.

What a pleasant place to stay! I think it would be a little crowded if all the spaces were full, but that will probably only happen during the fair. The fairgrounds owns a lot of adjacent property, one of which is bordered by blackberry bushes. That lot also has two apple trees, two pear trees and two Italian plum trees. What a treasure!
The camp host was very friendly and helpful.
There were several full-time RVers and they organized some activities. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.

There is nothing special about this place, but that's why we like it here. The options for parks within a 30 mile radius is slim. This park is basic but located in a good area. Great place to stay (as long as there are no events at Fair grounds) if you're here during Good Guys you get kicked out. They don't run this park in the best way but its still 50X better than the alternative options. We travel to western Washington each summer and this is one of the better options for the area. Traffic sucks here all the time! We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Travel Trailer.

Had a relative in a nearby hospital, making this location very convient. As stated before, ground is soft when rains hit, but the camp host showed me a good spot. Nothing special about the park, but well suited for area travels. Weather turned very cold while there, causing water problems, but worked though it. Site can get very close but there were about 10 rvs on site, so plenty of room. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

If you're going to see stuff or do something in Tacoma this is a great location. As mentioned, it's just a big grassy parking lot with full hookups. You can save $5/night by signing up and paying in the Fair office. I can't say that it's convenient for running into Seattle. The fact of the matter is the traffic into Seattle is horrible. You can pretty much count on 1.5 + hrs to drive 30 or 40 miles unless you get very lucky. Right now it's a combination of traffic volume, construction, weather, and accidents. We went into the Seattle from here 3 times and each time it was at least 1.5 hrs each way. That being said I'm not sure there's any place else to stay around the area that would be any better. When we stayed here there were only about a dozen sites filled so we had plenty of space. When it's full you'd pretty much be right on top of one another. Verizon MiFi worked great. We'd stay here again. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

RV park is grassy field, reasonable price for FHUs in the Seattle area. No amenities, it's a fairground parking experience.

Hosts were nice, can only reserve pay one week at a time, discounted rate to pay through the office during business hours vs. once you arrive. Location convenience is the only reason we stayed here. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 4 weeks. As others have said, this is a grass field with gravel roads and full hook-ups. It does get wet and soft during the potential incessant rains that can occur in the Seattle area. We were able to find a site that had more gravel than any of the others, so we had no problem pulling out when we had too, but we did see one rig that had to be pulled out by a tow truck. The office personnel admitted that tow-outs are not uncommon during the rainy season. We could hear the trains that run about 6 blocks away, but it was tolerable. Only one parking area has heat tape on the water spigots, so they turn the water off to all other sites when the temperature is expected to drop below freezing. The location was convenient for us and we would stay again. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Parking is on grassy field with hookups at rear of sites. Roads are gravel, hostess is delightful, friendly, and very helpful. Probably depending on time of year as to how level the sites are, but at this time we had no problem leveling our rig. It is very quiet and Puyallup is a nice town with a great downtown area. No restrooms or showers available in the campground. We used the TV antenna; however, had we brought the satellite dish, the skies are open to getting a signal. Definitely would stay here again. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Travel Trailer.

This was our only choice in campgrounds. It was the weekend and our trip was last minute. Just a big weed filled field with full hookups. The camp hostess was nice enough, just very stern. She takes her role very seriously! Convenient location, close to town and needed services. Only 2 complaints. The 50 amp power was poor. I kept blowing the circuit breaker and was only pulling about 35 amps. Also, when I made my reservation they didn't tell me the office was closed on Saturday so when I tried to extend my stay on a Saturday morning I had to pay $30 instead of $23. The camp hostess wanted cash that day. An OK place for a few days. I would stay again if the need came up. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy to access, parking is a grassy field, nothing special but inexpensive place to stay in the Seattle area. One nice feature was a Cenex truck that came through every Wednesday. Nice to have propane filled on site instead of taking the tanks somewhere. Camp host is a very personable woman who runs a tight ship. Verizon coverage was OK for both data and cell was weak, worked better with boosters, but was not real strong. We camped at Puyallup Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.
