When the nearby state park was full, we decided to try this small private RV park. Full service and reasonable. Not your typical "resort" but what a nice find. We arrived in the rain and the manager came out in the rain to be sure that we found a site and got in OK. Our site was very wooded and private. Showers were hot and clean. Having a restaurant on site is such a bonus when you've driven all day, park your RV and need a quick bite to eat. We would stay again, without hesitation! We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Big rigs would find the interior campsites pretty tight. There are pull throughs available.

This medium-sized RV park is right off the main road (Hwy 20) and easy to navigate into. Access to most sites is easy and the pull through's varied in size. Most of the park has full tree cover but several sites are partially sunny. Management is helpful and they seemed to be working very hard throughout our stay to keep things clean and organized. Our site (#2) was fully shaded, almost level, mostly dirt with grass on the sides, and hook-up's worked well; the sewer was at ground level. Some sites were roomy, others were narrow and not slide-out friendly. Some sites had picnic tables, but it looks like they are trying to add them to most sites where they'd fit. The WiFi was fairly good most of the time, and we got 2-3 bars on Verizon. Bathroom/shower rooms were separate rooms that locked, so you don't have to share, and they were very clean. Laundry room was small but adequate. While the park itself is fairly old, I give it good marks because from a practical point of view, everything worked, was clean, and the management did a great job. It's not quite a resort, nothing fancy, but we would definitely stay there again. We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

"The Eatery" is at the front of the RV park and is a moderately good greasy-spoon kind of diner... we enjoyed burgers and a Ruben sandwich there. Easy access to North Cascades National Park; the drive to Washington Pass is worth it (on a clear day); lots of trails to hike. Bellingham is 1hr 20min away but has everything you'd need. There's a small IGA store in Concrete, WA, just up the road.

New owners making a ton of improvements. The site we had was large and very convenient. The managers were great to deal with and the park has nice amenities. They have the standard clean bathrooms, showers and laundry facility, but they also have a game room and playground area. Great location near North Cascade National Park. Formerly Skagit RV Resort, it is now under new ownership & management. They offer full hookup sites in the "forest" and "sunny area," back-in and a few pull-through sites. We had a huge site in the forest section with lots of trees and shrubbery between the sites. They have WiFi and cable TV. They are working on getting the park back into shape, redoing the laundry, adding a hot tub, etc. The electric is good and water quality is good. Some full time residents but park is well maintained and nice. They have a workout room with games in there. Nice big playground area and field. Lots of cabins; also a restaurant. They have a section across the street called the River Trail, which goes along the Skagit River with tent sites there and in the main park, and a wedding chapel (as seen on Roadside America). They also have walking trails in the back of the park, which are really nice to walk on through old growth forest. The management is very nice and easy to get along with. I really enjoyed staying at this park; I'm glad I found it while searching for a park in this area. We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Of course, you are right down the street from North Cascades NP. In Concrete there is the Vintage Aircraft Museum; Shadow of the Sentinels. Skagit River Bald Eagle Nature Area, Cascadian Farms (great organic blueberries), and many drives and overlooks throughout the area. It's along the Cascades Mountain Loop - Hwy 20.

Stayed here 6 days in Site 1 of Sun RV Court. Front door of trailer faces onto dusty gravel road where everyone goes as fast as possible, even the staff in their golf carts. There should be speed enforcement or speed bumps to keep dust down or in the best case, pave the road. Sewer drain faces in opposite direction and is behind a 6x6 post. There is a compressor (restaurant air conditioning?) that runs until almost 11:00 pm and it emits a high pitched whine like having tinnitus of the ear. Had to have the trailer air conditioning on to mask the annoying whine. The posted rate is $29.00 and the Good Sam discount was given. The park is under new ownership and they have a massive job to rehabilitate the run down park. Wifi is great. Eatery has an extremely limited menu with no vegetarian fare. The kitchen stove exhaust fan has great runs of yellow and orange grease running down the side of the restaurant. Once I saw that my appetite was gone. Best thing I can say is that they appear to be trying to improve things. We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

At check-in my wife inquired about the location of laundry facility and was told it was not for guest use. We were provided directions to forested campsite, however there were several very low hanging branches across road that made getting to site without scratching RV impossible. Wife drove tow car to assigned site only to find it occupied. Went to office and explained situation. Was told no one should be in the site and when campground was built it was not made for big RVs. Noticed several pull thru sites with few trees were empty along main entrance road to office so asked about availability. Were told they were only 30 amp but to pick any one we liked. Selected a site, grounded RV jacks, deployed slides, hooked up electric and water only to find no power. Plugged into adjacent site with same result. Moved to another site with good results. Went to office to advise on site selected and lack of power at other sites. Inquired about use of laundry facility since it was advertised on website. Was told it was being used by staff to clean cabin linen and that was the first priority. Said I understood and again asked if I could use it once they were done. Was told they may be using it a long time. Asked question again and was told there was only one machine working and I would be better off driving 16 miles to another town to use the laundromat there. Later that day we noticed the lights out in the laundromat with a closed sign posted in the window. There was a combination lock for entry and since she had not offered to provide the combination I decided it was not worth the bother. I have visited many RV parks over the last 10 years having accumulated over 70K miles traveled and I have to say this was the worse customer service experience I have encountered. On a positive note, the customer service and meals at the resort diner were fantastic. Location is great for visiting National Park. Very nice City park on the river. They are planning WiFi to be installed for the 2015 season. Dump station is available. Lots of lakes and river fishing/sightseeing in area. We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here because it was close to the National Park. I guess the best way to describe this park is to say it is rustic. It appears not to have been maintained over the years. There are two camping areas. In the forested area, the sites were very muddy and dark. The sunny sites had grass and when the sun was out they got some light. Besides the camping area there are lots of "cabins" which have been here for a while. The folks that run the campground could not have been nicer but we would not stay here again. We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is weekly. There is only one 50A site - fortunately we got it. You can walk to the winery next door and to the diner between the campground and the highway. A wide variety of sites are available - shady or sunny. On Wed and Thurs the couple that manages the campground is not there and it is difficult to find someone if you want to check in or have questions. Sites are shady, with fairly good privacy. Some long-term residents. Bathrooms are sort of funky -- no soap is provided near sinks. Management is very helpful. Sites are rocky and a little muddy. Sites away from Highway 20 are quieter than those near the road. Excellent location -- near the wilderness areas of the Cascades. Great ice cream nearby at Cascadian Farms.
