Arrived early evening on Friday, and single staff member was overwhelmed with check-ins, but got them all handled. Off to find a site, and most of the ones left would have required sewer and water to cross under the 5er. The one we found that worked was fun backing our 37 footer into. Had to park tow vehicle next to the 5er, taking up most of the site space. Very busy weekend, but moderately quiet during the quiet times. Fair AT&T cell service. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

Ilwaco Saturday Market was fun, had lots of variety. For a tourist town, many of the eateries close up shop early on Friday night (before 8 pm.)

We stayed at Long Beach Thousand Trails after prime season, so it was about half full. This was advantageous because the sites are set up so 4 rigs use the same utility area. With only half of the sites occupied, 2 rigs were sharing the same utility area. We have a 43' long rig, and because the site behind us was not occupied, we were able to back in a couple of feet into the site behind so there was room in front of our motorhome to park the toad. If the campground was full, every other RV would need to either park "backwards" or their public door would be right up at the side of the rig next to them, and their "yard" would be on the off side of their rig (and their hoses, power cord, etc. would need to run under their rig to the utility location). Our rate was $0 as Family Courtesy Card holders. The best part about this campground is that the beach is just a short walk away and you can hear the waves. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For groceries, head across the Astoria bridge to Warrenton - Fred Meyer, Costco are there, and there is a Walmart being built. Cottage Bakery in Long Beach for yummy huge chocolate eclairs! Their Willapa Bread is also delicious.

Worst Thousand Trails I have ever stayed at. Dirty, mosquito infested, allows dangerous dogs. They do not follow through with their advertised events. Hookups were non-usable due to design (If you are first at site area you can hookup to 50 amp otherwise you are out of luck) . Even the local Dennis Hardware in Long Beach knew what we were after just by asking where the RV area in their store was. Clerk said "Sewer hose or Electrical extension cord." They knew what park we were at. Trees made using awnings impossible. We will NEVER stay there again. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

Pretty decent for a TT park. The sites are pretty close, but that is not uncommon at many parks. The hookups are a little annoying with the central water/sewer for 4 sites, but they are full hookups. Location is pretty nice with the beach and discovery trail a short walk away, Long Beach a short ride, and within 20-30 minutes to Astoria. Bathrooms were clean. There is only one big dumpster, but its not that big of a park so not really a big deal. Good value if you are staying on TT membership. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Travel Trailer.

The RV "resort" was over grown and run down. Many old RV's that had been there for quite some time. The RV "resort" is not close to the beach as is indicated in the advertising. We needed bikes to go from the "resort" through the brush along an undeveloped trail to find a paved trail that runs North to South. From there you can find your way to the beach. We checked into our site and found the RV next door was hooked into our power. I'm glad we had a surge protector because when we tried to plug in, it lit up with red and green lights like a Christmas tree. Fortunately we have an extra 25' power cord we strung under our coach over to the adjacent site. The sewer inlet was right next to the fresh water spigot; how that got past the health department, I will never know. There was a 'birds nest' of coax fittings we thought was for cable TV; we were wrong, it was 'just there' according to the management. The low spots in most of the sites were filled with lose grass clippings. The last night in camp it rained 2" and we woke up to find several feet of water under and behind our coach. I had to break camp by wading in near knee deep water. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

This is the first park I have seen hook ups like this. If you park in an odd numbered site, you will need to run water and sewer hoses under your rv to the right rear corner to hook up. Two sites share an electric so if the rv next to you got the 50 amp first, you will have no choice but to use 30 amp. The park is short on amenities but there are many things to see on the Long Beach peninsula.

Next time I will stay somewhere else, these sites are way too small and with the first come first served sites, I am not willing to gamble having to settle for 30 amp or using 30 foot sewer hose. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

Staff was very nice. Water, electric and sewer hookups need to be upgraded. You have 4 water and 4 sewer hookups all in the same place and electric is 2 to a post, first come gets the pick of the 30 or 50 amp. Sites are really close together. The roads are really really bad, pot holes everywhere. These are very big and deep pot holes, never seen anything like this. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

This was our last stay of an 8 month trip and we thought a 1000 Trail park on the beach would be lovely. Wrong! Potholes everywhere = really rough drive through + had to drive at an angle through a 1 direction barrier strip to leave. The sites are level and some grass, but really close with no privacy between. Technically all are back-in but if you get there 1st, you can pull through the site behind you. Electric is fun - 2 sites share a post so one site has to drag it under (or drive into the site if motor home) and there is only a 30 amp and a 50 amp on each pole. The 1st person gets their pick, not sure what the 2nd unit does if they can only use 30 amp and it is taken! There is only 1 huge dumpster (no recycling), with a lid most people cannot lift and a hand crank to open it that I had to ask a man to help me crank while standing in the mud. Would not go back there and very glad I didn't take them up on the "preferred membership" when we purchased our 35' Motor home. Don't know how previous review said you can see the ocean, it is a good 10 minute walk and even end sites cannot see it. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

I have visited a few Thousand Trails as a member, and I have to say I have yet to be disappointed. I enjoy the proximity to the beach the campsites are, it is a smaller campgrounds with sites a little bit more compact but definitely still quite enjoyable with beautiful views of the sea. The positives - the location! This park has direct access to the beach, as well as the walking/biking path that runs from Ilwaco up the peninsula. The negatives - the park itself. The utilities are poorly designed. You and the rig behind you have to share a utility box. First come first serve. If he takes the 50 amp outlet, you are stuck with the 30 amp svc. And, 1/2 the rigs have to stretch their cords & hoses across the sites to reach the power, water and sewer hookup. There is also no room to park a dink. When a rig comes in, everyone else has to move their dinks. We moved our dink 4 times yesterday. Sites are tiny & nearly bare, not attractive at all. The pool is over run by kids at all hours with no supervision & no adult hours. Dogs bark constantly, again, no supervision. WiFi only at the office. Other than beach access. all in all a very poor camping experience. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Motorhome.

This park is your typical Thousand Trails park--old, run-down, crowded. We were Thousand Trails members for about 10 years until we finally just canceled our membership. We recently received a promotional membership when we purchased our new RV. So we thought we would try them again. NO GO! The memberships might be OK for some people, but definitely not for us. They really need to update and improve their properties. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is nice enough. Lots to do in the area. It has a heated pool and hot tub but the hot tub was often colder than should be. You don't get a lot of space per site because of the power and sewer set ups but staff was friendly and helpful and the beach is 100 yards away. Beautiful beach area. Overall Rating:

Our stay this campground included the Independence Day weekend so we saw it at its fullest. And full it was. This campground is crowded at best with sites laid out like a parking lot for RVs. The water and sewer hookups are clustered for four hookups. Two of the campers have regular, driver’s side hookups and two must run their water and sewer hoses under the camper. Electric is better with each pedestal being shared by two campers. One plug is 50 amps and the other is 30 amps. First come gets first choice. Over the holiday weekend every site was full. The camper behind us was backed in within a foot of our back window. The camper to the right of us had their awning extended to about four feet of our 5th wheel and the camper to our left was just a bit farther away but our windows pretty much matched up. While we would have preferred a bit more room, we felt we had an acceptably good stay given the circumstances. I confess that having arrived early and getting a “normal hookup” site with 50 amps electric probably added to that positive feeling. The real draw here is the great Pacific beach which is just a five minute walk down a trail. We enjoyed the beach and the view of nearby Cape Disappointment very much, taking many walks along the beach. There’s also the paved Discovery Trail that runs near the water and provides great walking/biking opportunities. The pool is quite small and we never tried it out but it got lots of use. We enjoyed good Verizon 4G and had no problem getting our satellite TV signal. I don’t know how often it is a problem, but mosquitoes were really bad from early evening till after dark. All in all, in spite of the crowded camping situation I think we’d return to this campground. My advise is to avoid arriving on traditionally busy summer weekends and, if coming for a holiday arrive early and be prepared for close quarters. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

The price is reflective of our TT membership. Nice TT park. Level, good hook-ups, picnic table at each site but covered with moss, 8 minutes to the beach and there was a nice pool which we did not use. You can walk to town and you can walk to Cape Disappointment. We used this park as a base for exploring Astoria and that worked fine. We would definitely stay here again. This is certainly not a 10, but nor is it a 2 park. I think, find your own site is great. The shared pedestals are not very nice especially for the sewer, but who doesn't carry an adapter today. The sites are tight, but most seem to be on the Coast. I have seen worse. No Verizon, but OK AT&T, club house Wi-Fi good. Nice pool. Short walk to beach. All in all, a nice park especially when not so full. There were less than 10 empty sites when we were there and we got in with a 44' 5er. We camped at Thousand Trails-Long Beach in a Fifth Wheel.
