While dry camping, it is a great place to spend a few days. The sites are mostly level, private and shady. The second loop is for folks with reservations, but sites are just as nice at the first come, first serve loop. Lots of the sites are long enough for the longest of rigs, but some have some low slung branches. Space 8 would be my choice, as its sunny and right on the rim trail. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Motorhome.

If you're up for a long hike (11 mile round trip) but fairly easy, walk the Dungeness Spit to the lighthouse

July 11, near Sequim, 66 sites, site 53, $25 and no hookups, bathhouses This park is a very nice park with two loops of spacious wooded campsites located near the bluffs and and a short walk from the National Wildlife Refuge at the foot of the Dungeness Spit. There is a playground in the park and some great hikes. Sites are all sizes and some for big rigs. The views from the bluff overlook the Strait of Juan De Fuca with whales, birds and the shipping lane headed to Victoria and Seattle. Vancouver Island and Victoria can be seen in the distance. There are picnic tables and seats along the trail. Each loop has an entrance trail (short) to get to the Bluff. We stayed for just an overnight here but really enjoyed the hikes, views and the peaceful campground. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hiking north of the campground there is the National Wildlife Refuge (fee, Golden Age Pass accepted) where one can hike along one of the world's longest natural sand splits. The New Dungeness Light Station is a National Historic Site at the end of the 5.5 hike from the parking lot. Walking at low tide is better so you don't have to climb the driftwood along the trail. There is a bay and harbor there which provides wildlife protection along the spit. While we were there we spotted some birds nesting and swimming in the waters.

Loved the location and the ranger was very helpful when we checked in. The site we had reserved was one we could have fit into, had the road been wider and no tree in the way to allow access. As it was, it was a very difficult site to get into, while we were taking on water he thought there might be an issue and set aside the last non-reservable site that he thought we could get into. Much easier site to get into. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Love staying here and walking on the Dungeness Spit and along the bluff is a "must do" activity. No hookups, solar didn't help much due to heavy forest, but still a lovely location. Reasonable Verizon / AT&T connectivity.

Really nice County Park on the bluff overlooking Dungeness Spit. Sites are mostly heavily treed (a select few are sunny), and mostly nicely spacious (a few exceptions) but with good separation and privacy all-around. Road in Loop 1 (non-reservation) is tighter than Loop 2 (mostly reservation), but both are do-able by big rigs. We camped here in 40-foot MH. Views from the bluff trail are outstanding and you can walk directly to the Dungeness Spit and Lighthouse. Easy access to everything in Sequim. No hookups. 2 bars Verizon 4G LTE. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed this park even though it is strictly dry camping. Easy trail access, well maintained trails and restrooms. Great views the Strait of Juan deFuca and spectacular sunsets. Easy access to the Dungeness Spit. Our site was spacious and sunny so we could get DirecTV. Access to the internet (Verizon) was via Canada which is expensive. Dump station is near the entrance and turning around proved difficult. Reservations can be made via snail mail with a check, but cash is required for all other nights. We will stay here again. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Motorhome.

Sites were very private and close to trails on bluffs overlooking Strait of Juan de Fuca where we saw whales and sea lions. Only a few sites with good sun exposure (for solar panels). Trails to Dungeness Spit and close to Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge) and the Olympic Discovery bike trail. All services available in Sequim and Port Angeles. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Quiet place with large sites, but too many trees for satellite access, could not make reservations, and cash was required. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely campground with beach access and big private sites. The ranger is very very nice, and the whole park is very clean and well kept. My only complaint is that they close the gates at 10pm (9pm during off season) and if you happen to be out having dinner at the nearby Casino or something, you BEST make it back by curfew or you won't be getting back in. We love the place though, and we camp here at least once or twice every year. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a county park adjacent to Dungeness Spit (said to be world's longest spit of land at 5 miles long and 50 yards wide). Has hiking trails, playground for kids (but very quiet) and very clean bathroom and showers (25 cents for 2 minutes). Planned to stay one night but stayed 3 nights as it was so comfortable. It has very large sites that are private. Potable water and dump site on premise. We camped at Dungeness Recreation Area Campground in a Motorhome.
