The resort is in a park like setting with lots of grass and water. Very quiet. Friendly staff. Close to northern side of Mt. St Helens. Stayed here for several days in a 40 foot motorhome. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

We spent 4 nights at Silver Cove. We were vacationing with our 2 daughters and their families and rented 2 RV sites and a loft cabin, all right together. Perfect setup for a little family reunion. This place is perfect, well laid out with plenty of green space behind the sites. There are waterways that wind through the park right behind some of the sites, and they connect with the lake. You can rent kayaks, pedal boats and stand-up paddle boards. We visited the Johnston Ridge Observatory at Mt. St. Helens, about a 43 mile drive from the park. Admission to the observatory is $8.00, unless you have a Senior National Park pass, then it's free for up to 4 people. It's well worth the drive, great visitor center with an awesome movie about the eruption. We liked everything about this park. It's clean and well-maintained. The staff and management are very friendly and accommodating. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We did the Ziplining at Treehouse Island, it's just half a mile down the road at Streeter's RV Park. It's about a 15 min boat ride out to the island then a 2.5 hour ziplining adventure. Our whole group, six of us ages 12-70, had a great time

This park is a Highway West Vacations resort. We recently stayed at another of their properties in Coos Bay, OR. This is a quality park which is located in a beautiful setting on a portion of Silver Lake which is about 30 miles from Mount St. Helens. The park has asphalt driveways and gravel site pads with full hookups. There is a mix of back-in and pull-thru sites. We had a pull-thru site that was quite large with picnic table and fire pit. The restroom we used was good, a single unit with a shower. There are other restrooms around the park but we didn't use them. There was free WiFi that was very high quality. The park is clean and well maintained. We paid $44.88 per night with Good Sam discount. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park and a great staff and I would give them a great review except that despite their claim to free internet, even providing instructions on how to connect, there is no internet. When I went to office the staff informed me that it has been going down hill for the past year and the owners have not tried to fix it. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Highway West Vacations, at Silver Cove Resort responded to this review

Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. Our resort is looking into a fiber optic Wi-Fi option that is not commonly found in campgrounds and we are in the process of seeing if our location will support such technology. Two months ago, we had an engineer that represents our internet provider fly out to our property to assess our Wi-Fi offerings and we have another engineer visiting soon to further address concerns regarding service interruption. We have been happy to address these concerns and will continue to work diligently until a solution that meets the needs of our valued guests is in place.

Big rig friendly. Clean, safe, pretty, nice people running it. We had a pull through but could have fit into many of the back Ins. We used this as a base to see Mt St Helens (1 hour + each way), and Mt Rainier (about 2 hours each way). Great for St Helens but I would relocate next time closer to Rainier as that was driving time off season. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an extremely nice campground that is very well maintained. There are small canals that give you lake access and numerous sites back up to them. With paved roads and well maintained lawn areas, it almost seems like a park. The big-rig pull-through sites are very long and wide. There is some landscaping , but mostly a lot of natural trees. Our Dish satellite worked well, but they also offer free cable (didn't use). Their free wifi was great. Verizon also worked great. This park is off the highway enough that it was very quiet. We'll definitely stay here again. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park is you are visiting Mt. Ranier or Mt. St Helens. We also made a trip in to Portland from there. The park is immaculately clean and the staff are the best. Very helpful and accommodating. Nice little park store. Very clean laundry. Best RV Park in this part of state. Monthly rates are very good. The sites are very wide for a private park with an earthen divider between sites. The loops were divided by water, trees and land. Quiet. Wonderful! Lovely community room. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. Lots of room in sites with table and fire ring. Check in easy with friendly lady. Hooks up were a little far away from your RV in the pull through sites. Roads easy to maneuver around and paved. Cable channels were good with a good selection. Close to Mt Saint Helens and on a lake with access from park. They rent boats if you want to paddle around on lake. Sites were very level. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground with many completed as well as in progress upgrades. Boat ramp and easy kayak launching. Access to the lake via protected canals. Level sites and my 44' was easily accommodated in a back in site. Pull through are also available. WIFI was so so but is being upgraded as I write my review. Great location for visiting Mount St. Helens. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

The owners have dumped a huge amount of money into the roads and buildings here. You will have no problems maneuvering any rig. The office staff is very friendly. There are separate areas for extended stay and short term people. There is plenty of grass on which to walk your dog and boat rentals for the small lake. Great location for seeing Mt. St. Helens. WiFi is spotty at best and Verizon no good. Our only complaint is, for the size of this place and its sites, landscaping is lacking. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

The helicopter over Mt. St. Helens is $300 a person but you will only be here once! We enjoyed it and learned a lot. Drive about 9 miles up the road for helicopter. You can book online.

This was a beautiful park. Lots of open space. Spacious sites and most are level. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The negative was we were in the long term area and the wifi was useless. That along with poor cell service so we used cable TV and internet for the month we were there. That is the only negative we could find for this park. If we are in this area again this will be our first pick. We camped in a 40' motor home. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This Park is situated 6 miles off I5, but not exactly 'on' Silver Lake. Check in was pleasant. Our back in site was against a muddy canal, with frequent mosquitos in the area. The Park is generally unattractive, with a narrow paved one-way system in place, with open gravel sites on either side. They put us right next to a large family group, with kids wandering about, unleashed dog, and loud yelling starting at 7:30AM. What mystified me was there were plenty of open sites away from this large group we could have been placed. Saturday night there was some type of loud (outdoor speakers) and obnoxious (tuneless Karaoke singers) group party going on Saturday night at the Pavilion, located 7 sites down from us. There were quite a few weekend only family groups with large well-stocked campfires going during our stay. Utilities worked fine, except for the WiFi, which was non-functional the first two days. When I called, the staff discounted this with 'Well, our Internet is unreliable." Finally on our third (and last) day, I called to ask if the router could be reset. It was. We then received adequate WiFi. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tips to see Mt St Helens: Skip the State-run 'Mt St Helens Visitor Center' (4 miles West, $5 fee) and stop instead at the National Park Service Forest Learning Center (24 Miles East, Free, Restrooms, Exhibits, Elk Viewing areas). If all you want is a good view of the crater, skip Johnston Ridge Observatory ($8) and park at Loowit Viewpoint (Free, 1/4 mile short of Johnston Ridge.). The view is identical.

Nice enough park. Looks new & it seems like they are in the process of making improvements & additions. We would have inquired at the office when we checked in, but the young women manning the desk were not very welcoming or sociable. They handed us a welcome package & had us sign an agreement that we had read the rules & would comply with them. This is a big park with different sections. Not only was there no escort to our site but they weren't even going to tell us how to get to it. We had to ask. We had a premium water site. The water is a lily lake. Nice grassy areas but lots of goose poop. The park rents boats to use on the water. Lots of roads to walk the dogs on, too. We asked for a satellite friendly site. We were told ours had no trees. That was true enough but there are trees behind where the satellite points. After searching for a time our system managed to point between two large pines to find a signal. They have an extensive cable offering. The site was level & hook ups were well placed. Water pressure is very high. Conveniently located to Mt St Helens. Not much else to do here. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Park is out in the country about 10 miles from the hiway. Entrance into park is easy. We pull a 43' fifthwheel. This is an absolutely gorgeous park with sites on canals that lead out to the lake. You can launch your toys and boats right from the lawn in front of your rig. Lanes and sites are paved. Sites are long and very wide with grass between. Plenty of room to park your vehicle. Picnic table and fire pit at each site. Staff are very nice. Utilities work well. Cable TV works well About half the park is treed and the other half is very open for great satellite reception. WiFI - during the week park is quite empty and WIFI works well all day. Even though park is less than half full, at night WIFI can be impossible to get on. AT&T Cell service is 3 bars. Verizon Broadband does not work at all. Area may just be too remote. No dog park but lots of space for walking the dogs. No Pool Small play area for kids but in effect whole park is a play area!! No Bugs. Temps are chilly in morning and evening. Days warm up beautifully for being on the canals and the lake. We cannot wait to return and stay much longer. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Large sites with lots of room. Very friendly hosts. Not much for facilities as the only restrooms/showers were at the very far side of the park. The WiFi was almost non existent as it was very weak if you could even get on it. There was not really a clear view of the lake as the park sits on a series of canals heavily covered in Lilly pads.
