We stayed here because it was close to the ocean. It is quite a ways off the Interstate but we had no trouble getting here. The staff is friendly. We had a little trouble finding our sewer hookup- went back to the office & the lady came right out to our site. Turns out someone else was in our sewer connection instead of ours. She moved theirs to the right one & we were good to go.

They have a nice pool. It is currently heated to 86 degrees. It is cool here, highs in the 60's in July, so that is a nice temp. There is plenty of grass & walking area for the dogs. There is a big playground for the kids. They have cable & WiFi. Our site was satellite friendly. The sites are back ins. There are 4 rows of RV sites. You are parked butt to butt so if you are lucky enough to have nobody behind you when you check in you have a pull thru. It was quiet in the park except for 3:30 am on July 7th when somebody set off fireworks (not in the park), waking us & scaring the dogs. I actually saw the owner washing down the picnic tables. Now that is clean. We would stay here again. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We ate at Westport Winery. It was very good. Not your usual restaurant fare. We also ate at Aloha Alabama. Very good BBQ. We also ate at Blue Buoy. Huge salads & homemade hash. We also recommend the fudge at Granny Hazel's. Exceptional.

This is a "resort" like I'm Brad Pitt! If you want a decent place to stay with the basics, then it is fine. They have two bathrooms in the "resort" and one of them was out of order, which left an older restroom with one dirty shower. When the shower by the pool was open it was clean, but it was "temporarily closed" of course during the morning hours, when most would want to use it. The sites are narrow, dead grass for a surface and their seemed to be no noise restriction, although they do tell you quiet time is at 10. We paid for two nights, left after one. If you are fisherman going out of Westport, then it would be a great camp site, just not fancy. Staff was courteous. Town is close, but not close enough to walk. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great park and I have stayed here quite a few times. Campground is well kept and showers and bathroom are clean and usually well stocked. Pool is nice and warm and overall I enjoy my stay there except for staff in the office. On two occasions, once this year and once last year I have heard the office ladies bad mouthing me and my family. Accusing us of not registering and/or paying our fees, that my daughter's 14 year old son was her boyfriend and we were trying to get out of paying the extra fee for an adult. Both times I heard this through the walkie talkies that the very nice gentleman that tend to the campsites carry around. I would normally give this place a higher rating but the paranoia of lady in the office left a very bad taste in my mouth. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Staying here for a month because it's the best park in Westport. Very nice people in the office with happy volunteers on the outside. Hookups to rear of site with no problems there. Grass site that has been mowed so no weeds to contend with. Will stay here again when in the area, no problem. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed stay at the park very much. Level campsite, good family park, very nice people that work here. We were here in a fifth wheel trailer and were able to park in our site with ease because we arrived early enough to do a pull thru. We will stay at this campground again. The pool was very clean and warm. Dog friendly. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a destination park for area families. We stayed here last July and the park is basically the same as then - see my 7/25 review for a few more details. Once again, we had a back in, FHU site that was gravel, fairly level, and had 20 channel cable TV. That would seem to describe most of the RV sites. Our site was satellite friendly, but many were not. The park also has dozens of tent sites. There are two bathhouses. The one by the office also has a laundry. The WIFI was OK for our needs until dark when more people get on the system. There is a small outdoor pool (a real rarity on the coast), a playground, pavilion, play area, etc. They do have recycling for aluminum. The staff we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.

Our 2nd visit to this wonderful park. Very well clean and well kept up by the staff members. Many pull-throughs on grassy grounds, which are relatively level. Pet friendly and good walking pet areas. We also like the walking distance to nearby downtown stores and the marina. We definitely will return when we get the opportunity to travel this way again. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy level walking distance, about 1 1/2 miles, to the tallest Lighthouse in Washington, and about 1 mile to the marina with many shops, and of course large water vessels to admire.

This was the worst experience of our six-week tour so far. We arrived at 8:15 PM to find the office closed, even though the hours stated on the window were 9 PM. Found the owner in the clubroom drinking wine and playing cards. Her greeting was unfriendly and along the lines of "what do you want ?" No sign of welcome or any offer of hospitality. She never got out of her chair. She directed us to pick any site and check in in the morning. We fumbled round in a very dark campground with only the beam of our headlights for 25 minutes before finding a place we thought was safe to park.

The park was at one time probably decent but now is filled with full timers with junk and sports equipment all over their sites. The sites were not very spacious but were pretty level. There was no enforcement of park rules with dogs barking before and after hours and one guy talking loudly on a cell phone outside. The bathroom was reasonably clean though the floors were covered with mud, including in the shower.

There was no signal from AT&T so I called the office to get a password for the Wi-Fi. The woman who answered conferred with the owner told me I could not have a password unless I walked down and got it in person, all the way from the back of the park. The owner ce on the line and said it was for security reasons as other people always called from outside the park for the password. This was despite the fact that she knew exactly which site I was calling from and mentioned it to me. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. This is a great example of a business that is lost its eye for the customer. Never would I stay here again! We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Westport is fascinating and quite charming. We found everyone to be friendly and outgoing, except for our campground representatives. Would love to go back and explore some of the rest of the town. It combines both a very active fishing port with a lively history. One of the highlights was being able to see one of the multimillion dollar super yachts made by Westport Yachts right by the port being readied for delivery.

We stay here every year with a group. The park is very nice to our group, and donates items for our raffles, and tries to accommodate our needs. One problem is that one or two people in the office don't seem to know their jobs very well, so we end up trying to correct their mistakes, which they stand firmly by, usually, so that can be a bit of a hassle. Sites are adequate for our needs, clubhouse does the job just fine, and we always have a good time here. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of things to do nearby. Grays Harbor is great fun, and very interesting. We were there during the annual Art Show. The docks make for a great walk, and you can always see sea lions, seals, gulls, pelicans, and sometimes whales. Lots of beaches to walk on, surfing is available, deep sea fishing, etc. A real taste of a seaside town/marina, with some great places to dine/drink.

large, clean park. There are some long term and seasonal campers but lots of space for visitors too. There are three very clean bath houses, it is both big rig and pet friendly, there is a clean laundry, and there is a medium-sized heated (seasonal) swimming pool and a playground for the kids. Staff members were all friendly and offered ideas about where to eat and what to see and do. There are 30/50 amp FHUS and back to back pull throughs (we are here in a "not as busy" time so we have both sites, but that could be an issue in high season- so ask before booking); sites are grass and gravel and level. There is free WiFi for up to two devices (and it works!) and the cable TV gets quite a few channels. There is a large clubhouse and a fish cleaning building (fishing is huge here since Westport is on both Gray Harbor and the Pacific Ocean). There is a small camp store, a horse shoe pit, and a picnic table at each site. The campground has a separate tent area too. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

As others have said, the sites are level and close together. But a drive around town and eyeballing the other RV parks, it looks like they're all like that here. The grass is brown and dead right now because of the drought so it's mostly dirt. It did rain last night so now there are puddles in the dirt. Wifi wasn't good but Verizon hot spot is strong so using that. Interesting to walk around the docks and there is a 2.5 mile bike/walking path along the ocean nearby. Actually, everything is nearby because it's not a big town. Fishing is the big draw here. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.

We have been here before (we have an old handout of theirs showing our site number), but we don't really remember much about our previous visit or when it was exactly (probably last century). We had a fairly level, gravel, FHU, back-in site with limited 20 channel cable TV. Our site was satellite friendly but many are not. All 120 RV sites appear to be back-in and back-to-back. As others have said, the sites are a bit tight. The south half of the park has dozens of tent sites in a very heavily treed, very park like setting. I don't think I've seen nicer tent sites associated with an modern RV park. Their are 2 main bathhouses (one by the office and the other between the RV and tent sections) plus several porta-potties in the tenting area. There are plenty of recreational facilities - playground, pool, horseshoe pits, etc. The laundry was a bit small for this size park. There is minimal recycling for just aluminum cans. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.

This is probably the nicest RV park in Westport, but it's still quite tight. When not full it's a relaxing spot with grassy sites and a big, green area in the back near the tents (great for doggie), but when full you can almost hand your morning coffee to your neighbor. Good, clean restrooms, laundry, and friendly hosts. Wi-Fi was OK (mostly good, but does get overloaded with campers). Lots of mosquitoes in the tenting area, but that's just the season. Easy drive to the marina. Lots of good sightseeing in the area. We camped at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in a Motorhome.
