Just got home today from Pine Near (7/31/2016). Like the previous posts, we didn't see any signs and found it a bit difficult to find the park entrance and actually entered thru the back. Once in the park we also noticed there are no signs inside so we had to hunt down the office. The staff was helpful and quickly got us backed into a nice wide and shaded 50 amp full service site. Internet was also very usable.

As other have reported, the sites are totally grassy and everything was nice and green and healthy. Other than having to ask where everything was (couldn't find the garbage dumpster - again, no signs) we really enjoyed our stay and are already planning another visit next year. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Owners work very hard at keeping park green and neat. This is our second visit and will return. Proximity to downtown is a plus but very quiet. Wildlife is all around us. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great park to stay in while visiting Winthrop. Walking distance to town and the great Schaffer museum. The sites are all well maintained grass. Very friendly atmosphere. Best, and fastest internet I've ever used. Highly recommended. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice grass covered RV park. Plenty of room to maneuver big rigs and it's close to the center of town. Very high water pressure, make sure you have a water pressure regulator. The best thing about this park is the service. I don't think we've ever had better service in an RV park. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

After having trouble get a hold of this place (leaving 3 messages between 4 P.M. and 9 A.M. the next day and getting NO callback), we were a bit concerned about coming here. The signage in town on where to turn to get here was also poor. Upon arriving, checking in, and getting set up we were pleasantly surprised. All the RV sites are on grass and there are about 20 pull through and 15 back in. We needed one board to level and it looked like many site might need some leveling. There are also 7 cabins, 3 TeePees, a "mansion" that sleeps 14, and many tent sites. There is no cable TV but, although there are numerous trees in the RV site area, many sites are satellite friendly. Call ahead if you want a satellite site. The WIFI worked well for us - even after it got dark. I was surprised that there were no recreational (pool, playground, etc.) amenities. The laundry and two bathrooms are in the building with the office. The laundry had modern machines and the individual (toilet, sink, shower) bathrooms were probably the nicest I've ever seen. The bathroom facilities are certainly inadequate for a park with tent sites. They are currently building a new bathhouse. The staff was friendly and helpful. I saw no sign of recycling. The Shaffer Museum across the street is interesting but the main street shops (many call themselves boutiques) are too "yuppie" for me. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

Delightful park with very helpful owners. One block from downtown makes a visit to this 1800's town easy. Right off Highway 20, We were here before the summer crowds, so we found it quiet. Good cell and satellite service & free wifi. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is quite close to the center of town with it's "old west" ambiance. Operations are a little casual, we reserved ahead, but had not been assigned a space, though a perfectly satisfactory space was assigned upon arrival. The big disappointment was that showers were $2.00 for 4 minutes --- and special $1 tokens are required to operate the timer. The explanation (for the charge) was that the facilities are open 24/7 and it's the only way to control for "outsiders" using them. (Towels were provided for the showers.) I did not realize that tokens were required, until I discovered that my pocket full of quarters didn't work. Of course, the token machine required paper money -- and that was back in the RV. (I used the tiny wet bath shower in our Van-type class B RV-- and discovered that the Truma tankless water heater I installed this spring worked like a charm.) Were it not for the shower situation I'd have rated this park higher. It was pleasant and had attractive lush lawns. Next time I'm in the area, I'll probably stay at the State Park a few miles out of town. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Within easy walking distance is the Winthrop "old west" town. Cross the street and walk through the (free/donation requested) Shafer Museum (mining equipment, wagons, etc.) and down the stairs to the main street where shops, dining, snacks, and recreation is available.

We've stayed here several times now and just love this park. It's not all that scenic, but there are several nice trees. But the people are exceptionally helpful and flexible and gracious - something not often found in an RV Park. The bathrooms and laundry are spotless We also like that we can walk to town easily and not worry about drinking and driving. we will stay here again and again. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sorry, I can't give a 10 when no pool or cable available. That being said, this is a near perfect park with spacious back in and pull through sites with lush green grass on a firm base. If you prefer sites on gravel or pavement, clearly defined, you will probably prefer the KOA down the road. The staff is very helpful and accommodating and escort you to your site and assist your parking. Most services work well (use a water pressure regulator) however the DSL wifi which I'm told usually functions well was spotty at best probably due to the many wires down from the recent forest fires in the area so it should improve. The rest room, shower and laundry areas are up to date and "5 star clean". While no cable TV is available, there is a repeater on a local mountain making a number of HD channels available over the air. We plan on returning. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is Escapees 50% rate for 4 nights during the week. Site was back-in, grass, FHU, 50 amp, and level. We did have to back up an incline to the level site. Park WiFi was inconsistent, but we did use it. We had good Verizon cell/MiFi reception and good satellite reception. Park was quiet at night; it was nice to sleep with the windows open. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

Well maintained, clean, park with modern facilities. Wifi was spotty and better late at night or early morning. Grassy, level spacious sites. Clean and modern restrooms, showers and laundromat. Showers are a little pricey at $2 for 4 minutes and only sold in 4 minute increments. Helpful and friendly staff. Construction of new building to house more bathrooms and showers is taking place and needed as currently there are only two showers and two toilets. RV Park is just above town of Winthrop and just across the street Shafer Museum which is large and informative. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Winthrop is a restored frontier town and the downtown area with gift shops , restaurants, saloons and lodging. Sheri's Sweets seems to be the center of activity with homemade ice cream, candy and baked goods as well as coffe and Espresso. About 8 miles east on hwy 20 is the town of Twisp. The coffee and smiles served there are the best ever.

Campground and Host remembered us from last year, does not get more welcoming than that, campground is very clean and well taken care of, always a good stay. With in walking distance of town, so you can stroll the nice town of Winthrop WA as often as you want without ever getting back in your car. Very clean showers and laundry room, ATT cell works well, free WFI works good. They are building some nice little cabin, so you don't have to have RV to stay here. Won't stay any place else in this area, had been on the road a month and in and out of well lets just say not so nice campground, was nice to know our last stay of this trip we would be pulling into a great campground. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

This an absolutely delightful area to visit with the open rolling eastern foothills of the Cascades. The park is basically an open grass parking lot with only one interior road. The layout of the park is poorly thought out. With the open grass field, there is no specific boundary to each site. Our awning covered part of the next RV's sewer. The Wi-Fi was the fastest we had even experienced in an RV park until the Sunday morning of the long weekend when we were there, at which point it suddenly became very unreliable as if someone was streaming huge movies. The 2 current washrooms were newly renovated and very nice, but both showers were very small with a shower curtain too little for the opening and a sign asking to please close it to prevent water getting on to the changing section floor. It required careful shifting to get dressed into dry pants and socks, since it was impossible to prevent the shower from spraying past the shower curtain. Also, be prepared for the most expensive showers that we have ever encountered. The shower cost is either $2 for 4 minutes, or $4 for 8 minutes! Apparently they are building new washroom facilities.

The rules on dogs are that they must be on a 6 foot leash at all times, but we have never seen so many dogs running everywhere in any other park. This is a problem on so many levels! Usually we see little dogs that some owners feel they are entitled to be off leash but here there were all sizes. Owners were pitching doggy balls and toys in almost every direction, while some dogs whose owners followed the rules were barking noisily. I almost stepped in doggy doodoo after most units had left. The nights are very quiet, and the park staff are great. Given the added shower cost, we would only stay here Monday to Thursday for Passport America rate. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We love this park because it is literally 2-3 blocks from downtown Winthrop. The owners are hard working...friendly...and VERY accommodating. We will stay there every time we go to Winthrop (this was our second stay). The only drawback is not all sites have fire pits but other than that I can't complain about anything. I highly recommend.
