The best thing about this park is the location to Winthrop. You're right next to the museum and an easy walk to town. There is also very few "long-term" folks there and they tend to keep their area looking good. The staff was very friendly during check-in. The "not-so-good" part is the grounds and lack of security. Grass sites are pretty, but not so good for RVing....track grass in (no mats allowed), wet after the water, easily turns to mud or gets slick after heavy dew or watering. Also, the roads are dirt. The sites can be difficult to get in to and many aren't very level. No security. Many local residents use their laundry facility and are therefore going in and out all day and night (laundry is open 24 hrs). So you get folks driving rough cars through the park all the time. We never left anything out. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely park one block above downtown. The area is all grass with some sites having tree coverage. They also rent teepees and a few small cabins. The utilities were well-placed and easy to use. We had OTA TV which worked fairly well. Our site was up a small rise so was a slightly tricky back in. The manager and her staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. They seem to place trailers as far apart as possible to give everyone maximum privacy. There was a fire pit and a picnic table but we did not use these as the smoke from the forest fires made it difficult to be outside. You are about 40 minutes from the east side of North Cascade National Park. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I'd like to agree with all the positive comments about this park in recent reviews. We were here for the first time last summer. See my 7/16 review. This time, I had no problems with contacting the park and found the recycling bins. We again had a FHU site that was satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi was fine for our minimal (e-mail and surfing) needs. This is a fine, well run park that would score higher if it had a few more amenities like a pool and cable. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hi Jerry,

Thank you for taking time out of your day to share your thoughts about our Campground. Glad you found the bins. We have upgraded our signage :o). Always working to be more accommodating. We have an excellent wi~fi network. (Really proud of it!) In a small, rural area there is only so much in terms of internet provided for us to buy though. Next to no fiber optic, etc... A pool would be so nice. Probably will not happen. There is no cable in the entire Methow Valley. It was shut off with no notice 6 years ago! Satellite and internet TV does work though. Looking forward to seeing you again. ~Anna

We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. It is a very nice park within walking distance to downtown Winthrop. Sites are grass and roads are gravel. About half the sites are back-in and half are pull-thru. They also have several tent sites, teepees and cabins. The office building has a nice laundry, 2 single stall bathrooms and 2 single stall showers. The showers cost $1 for a short 2 minutes which I found disappointing. They have 2 additional single stall bathrooms at the end of another building and it looks like the are building 2 more single stall showers there too but they are not complete. None of the facilities are ADA compliant. I deducted from my score for the shower price, limited showers and restrooms and non paved roads & sites. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit North Cascades National Park. During the summer there is lots of recreation including hiking, biking, river rafting and other outdoor sports. Lost River Winery has decent wines, the Cidery next door has good hard cider and pub fair. The Schoolhouse Brewery downtown has good beers and a good pub menu.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Pine Near Campground. Our newly remodeled porcelain tiled showers are $1 for 2 minutes, $2 for 4 minutes and so-on. There are towels and floor mats to borrow also. These showers (and coin laundry) are open to the public (have been for 45 years) and priced a bit lower than the other public showers. We have just completed 2 additional restrooms and also have portable restrooms. ...Hoping the additional showers will be completed soon! The structures here are from 1972 and it has been challenging to use existing space as we would like to. We do have a ramp going up to the main Bath House and we do have an ADA restroom & shower in one of the buildings we remodeled. It's not finished yet but there will be an ADA ramp going into that cabin as well. Pavement! My heart be still! Some Day..... Thanks for sharing the great tips on surrounding area! ~Anna

We pull a 43 ft fifth wheel with a F350 truck. Winthrop is a vacation destination for Washingtonians right on a river for floating on tubes. The town is an old old Western town that has been well kept. Entry into park is very easy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Park is beautiful - a big grassy field with large tress. Lanes are gravel Sites are all grass. We had site 11 which is perfect. You want to be on the east side of a large tree to be shaded during hot afternoon sun in the summer. Utilities are positioned well and work well. Laundry - did not use but is nice. No Cable TV but Satellite works very well. WiFi is very good. They offer premium WIFI for $3/day which allows streaming of movies etc. AT&T Cell service is good and Verizon Broadband is good. There is no Dog park but park is on a quiet street so it is safe to walk the dogs down the street. No pool Lots of room for kids to run and play. No Bug. We will definitely return and stay much longer next time. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here a couple of times a year and get a 10% discount for being a returning customer. The sites are on nice green grass. The owner and/or office personnel are VERY flexible and will pretty much let you choose which ever site you prefer as long as it isn't already reserved. The owner is also very helpful in providing answers to any questions you may have about the town and surrounding areas. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

First stay and, given the convenience to town, most likely will stay again. Popular in summer and may be difficult to reserve a spot. Pros - the owners are wonderful, the grass is luxurious, resident deer come right into sites, convenient walk to town. Cons- most sites you feel like a sardine (packed in), there are no garbage cans just one garbage trailer you have to hike to throw away your garbage, it's really not an rv park more like a big grassy yard with hookups. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our second stay here and we liked it more than last time. All sites are on an open grassy area. There are a few pull thru's, but most sites are back ins. Most are open, some are shaded. The bathrooms and showers are in excellent condition and very clean --- with lots of HOT water. Wifi was good even though we were on the far edge of the park. The park's location close to downtown Winthrop is a real bonus. We rate this park a solid eight (Higher ratings we reserve for paved roads and sites and places with more amenities). Two thumb's up --- We will come here again. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park! The owner, is very friendly and helpful. The sites are all on grass and many have great views. We checked in, unknowingly, during a vintage trailer event. Things were hectic, but the owner made sure we got into our site and hooked up ok, then invited us to the pot luck dinner that night. The next day most of the vintage trailer folks left and it was pretty quiet, but she invited us to eat the left overs from the pot luck the night before, so basically she fed us the whole time we were there! We almost felt like family! If we are ever back in this area, we will definitely stay here again! This is a very well kept park that shows a pride of ownership. Just got home today from Pine Near (7/31/2016). Like the previous posts, we didn't see any signs and found it a bit difficult to find the park entrance and actually entered thru the back. Once in the park we also noticed there are no signs inside so we had to hunt down the office. The staff was helpful and quickly got us backed into a nice wide and shaded 50 amp full service site. Internet was also very usable.

As other have reported, the sites are totally grassy and everything was nice and green and healthy. Other than having to ask where everything was (couldn't find the garbage dumpster - again, no signs) we really enjoyed our stay and are already planning another visit next year. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

When you come into town on Hwy 20 from Seattle take the first left up a short steep hill and make an immediate right at the top following the signs to RV park, there is no sign for Near Pine itself. Coming from Omak take a right in the center of town up a short steep hill. Follow the generic signs.

The park is on a large grassy field with some large rocks to designate the sewers. You will see tables and some electrical posts. The layout works but its a little confusing at first. We would like it to be more organized or laid out in a more structured way. The park is beautiful, lots of beautiful healthy trees and grass. Everything is very clean and cute. They need more bathrooms for all the people, not everyone likes to use their coach. They are adding 4 more flush toilets to the 2 they have and they have numerous sani potties distributed throughout the park. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. We would return for sure. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Full grocery, hardware, cute shops, etc. The town is darling. Twisp is interesting also. Good gateway to the beautiful North Cascades highway.

There is an easy walk thru the Shafer Museum (a must see) down to the cute town. The grocery is more of a drive. We got groceries at the Omak Walmart, which is much cheaper.

This is a beautiful park with FHU sites for RV's to grassy tent sites. Owner's keep it in tip top shape, very clean and manicured landscape. Easy walk to town on the boardwalk through the nearby museum. Quiet, safe and friendly campers of all kinds enjoying nature and surroundings. Fellow RV'er informed us of the nearby "Smoke Jumpers" base for a free tour and visit with the team. Excellent and informative visit. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat - this place is one of the nicest we've been to traveling all over the country. Didn't use showers but know they take coins and are very clean. Laundry in same building, clean and in good condition. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
