Very quiet, senic and spacious. I does get busy on the weekends as is typical of most state parks. The parking area was gravel and the rest was grassy. Lots of trees but we did get a view to the south on site 5 and picked up two of the dish satellites. The sites are large clean. Nearest shopping is in Princeton about 20 miles south. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A small state park North of Bluefield, West Virginia. Spaces are good for larger rigs. Park is far enough from the interstate where there is no road noise. Internet service with verizon a little spotty. WiFi was ok but not working all the time. The camp hosts are wonderful people that had a community fire each night when we were there. And for one night, their friends bought in hot dogs, cole slaw and other food for the campers to cook over the fire. Very nice experience. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We have stayed twice at the Mash Fork campground in this serene state park located in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia. Take exit 20 off Interstate 77 and carefully follow park signs for 2 miles from the exit (caution-some GPS directions may take you out of the way so follow the park road signs). Roads to the park are nicely paved but a little narrow so keep speeds down. Once inside the park pay close attention to the campground direction signs which are a little dark and close to the ground. The check-in is located on the right as you enter the campground loop. The check-in is made a breeze by the very friendly park folks. Getting to the site is easy as there is just one large loop. Sites are very quiet and spacious with lots of well kept grass around and are all surrounded by the mountains. Shade varies at the sites. Site hook ups range from 30 amp electric only up to 3 full hook up sites and water and electric (30 and 50 amp) sites in between. Our full hook ups worked well and were properly located. All sites are paved and levelling, if required at all, is minimal. A fire-pit and picnic table is at each site and wifi worked well on our site. We did not use the bath house or laundry but these are available if needed. The park offers hiking, biking, fishing, and horse back riding with lots of picnic areas available. The hike from the campground to Mash Fork Falls is easy and enjoyable. Ask first at the check in if the falls are running as they do dry up in the fall. This is an excellent campground for an easy overnight stop or an extended stay. We will return when in the area again. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I stay here a night or two every July and it is great. Beautiful scenery, great playground. Easy to get to. Nice small campground store (tiny, but neat). Hard to find much wrong with it. Wish I could make online reservations. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

The road leading to the park is extremely narrow. Thankfully we didn't pass another car coming or going. We were on a pull thru site that was nearly impossible to navigate into. When we arrived there was no water or electric due to a storm. After traveling all day we used our generator to get showers at 7:00 p.m. The host knocked and said there were complaints about our noise. He said quiet time started at 10:00 p.m. We had the generator on for about 20 minutes and had it turned off by 7:20. We didn't appreciate being told there were complaints when 1) it was still early, and 2) there was no power in the park.

We have been in much nicer, more convenient state parks and probably won't go back, although in a pinch it would be okay. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed in a electric only site. Camp ranger greeted us and was very helpful, even pointing out what to see in the park.

Our site was large enough for the MH and towed. It was level and paved. Sites are spread out and private. Showers were clean, with massage heads and lots of hot water. Didn't use the laundry.

A great place, wish we could have stayed longer. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Road to the Park is off the Toll road and was signed well. No one at the office, only phone number, parked in our reservation spot and called. They came later with local info. Area is quiet and plenty of room. We were put in a full hook-up spot we didn't know was available, great since we were staying 8 days. Okay laundry, but 2 dryers out-of-order. Site was pretty private and had plenty of room, easy to back into and pretty level. Bath house was pretty dated and not kept very clean although the shower was good size and private. One toilet in the ladies room was broken and not repaired for the 10 days we were there. Has some Verizon service, no AT&T and no OTA tv although we got good dish network on site 6. The camp ground WIFI was very good. Park was very quite on weekdays but got pretty crowded on the weekend. Very easy access from I77. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park, our site was one of 3 full hookup sites. The paved sites can be unlevel but ours was easy for us to set up on. The hookups were at the rear of our site, requiring several sections of sewer hose for us. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Princeton WV is about 10-12 miles south, for supplies and restaurants.

There are plenty of hiking trails in this park and two waterfalls to view.

Playgrounds are located outside the campground in the State Park.

Stayed in Mash Fork campground. Pretty small camp ground. We had water and power but no sewer. Wireless internet is $2 per day extra and was pretty good. No att cell but a little Verizon cell. Bath house was pretty clean overall but dirty around the edges. It was heated and that was nice on 35 degree mornings. The sites were large and pretty level. Only three channels ota but dish tailgater worked when positioned properly. About 15 min form Walmart in Princeton bur nothing closer. The park is well kept and large with lots of trails and paths to bike/hike. Will definitley stay here again. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

They have 2 pull through sites. Ours was 14 which is 50 amp E/W, but they do have some full hook ups. Our site was very long and level at the south end of the site. Great park for hiking, picnicking, etc. Baseball field, basketball court and probably much more that I didn't see in the one night we were there. No air TV reception, but we did get satellite signal from our site. Poor cell phone reception, but there was some. They offer WIFI for $2, but we didn't use it. This would be a great place to spend a few days. Note: we may have picked up some stink bugs while we were there - be on the look out. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

This state park is right off the interstate outside Bluefield, WV. We stopped here after visiting New River Gorge. The campground is small, but very clean with electric and water. I believe there were some full hookups as well. The staff person was very friendly and helpful.
The road around the campground was newly paved asphalt, with campsites arranged in a circular formation. They were not too close together, and lots of grassy areas around the sites. Very quiet and woodsy. Was a beautiful place to spend the night. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

A beautiful, quiet, small park in southern West Virginia. Was a good place to stop and stay overnight. Had a full service site, which was nice for a state park. Back in site was easy to maneuver, with lots of room between campers. Would definitely stay here again. Not used to driving on winding roads so getting to the park from the highway was a but uncomfortable but for locals, a piece of cake I'm sure. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.
