This little park is right beside the interstate, making a great overnight stop. We were rolling through and needed a place to plug in, since the temp was pretty hot. The manager met us at the gate, which was just a short 1/4 mile off of the interstate. Easy pull through with full hookups and plenty of room to keep the toad connected. We only hooked up to the 50 amp power. The site was level. The grounds were clean and well kept. Although close to the interstate, we noticed no road noise, but we tend to tune that out anyway. No trains. Great 5 bar verizon. Great Satellite and several channels on the TV. No trees, open terrain. Sites were close, but adequate without any difficulty. For an overnight, this was just great. We stayed here in a 39' motorhome with a toad. It was very easy to get in and just as easy to get out. We often pass through I64 and need an overnight. We will definitely visit again. No other amenities that we noticed, but we also didn't look. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Nice small, quiet campground right off the interstate 64. Excellent for an overnighter. Restrooms and showers were clean but old. No cable but you have local channels. Suggest you call ahead of time for reservations as it only has 10 full service sites and they appear to fill up early. Service checking in was outstanding as this is only the second campground that the manager meet us and showed us the site before we paid for later, that we have stay at. Highly recommend this little jewel of a campground. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

A nice, little gem of a campground. Russ (the camp host) greets everyone coming in the park. Advertised for "overnight camping" mainly because there is nothing near for miles around. A local convenience store doesn't sell diesel. Roads are gravel. No trees so no overhead obstacles, great for satellite antennas. Sites are gravel, long, pull-through with a couple of back-ins in the grass. Utilities are mid-rig, all are FHU-20/30/50. Water pressure isn't very high but usable and tastes okay. No store. Restrooms/showers are dated, given a "B" for cleanliness. No propane or amenities (pool, spa, game room, etc). Free Wi-fi. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This lovely, small park is perfect for an overnight stay just off of I-64 exit 150. The campsites are located along the top of a hill with gorgeous views on all sides of the surrounding mountains. Down the hill are pastures with cattle dotting the glen down below. Very serene. Camp host, Russ, was very helpful and informative. The utilities are easy to reach and work well. The wifi is strong. Most sites are level (hard to come by in the mountains). You can see a piece of I-64 coming from behind a hill, and if you sleep with the windows open you can hear the shushing sound of traffic going by. Not loud or intrusive. We will stay here again if we are passing through. A good bet for a stop. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

This park is a little jewel. Clean, neat, well run. It's not particularly close to anything, but the park is a peaceful, clean, and accommodating stop-over. No pool, no shuffleboard...but nice people, beautiful view. We were there to ride the Greenbriar River Trail...but we'll return there just to enjoy setting. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent park for either a quick overnight stop or longer. Park host is super. The park overlooks a tranquil pasture scene with excellent morning and evening views. Internet access is very good as are the cell phone signals. Great base to visit White Sulphur Springs as well as Cass Scenic Railway and New River Gorge. Strongly recommended, easy access for big rigs!! We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Small family owned campground at exit 150 on I64. Well maintained grounds, no store but there is one about 200 yards from entrance. Manager Russ was very friendly. Has both 30 and 50 amp service, about 5 channels on antenae. Free WiFi. Will stay again when in the area. Great spot for overnight. Stayed in a Motorhome. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. This is a small, lovely, family owned campground located in a rural area right off I-64. The campground was not officially open for the season (1 May) but a call to the campground and we, along with several others were accommodated. Easy on/off the interstate and there was some traffic noise but it was not bothersome to us. Water was off when we arrived but owner turned it on for our use. Sites are narrow (some sites are not level) and so are the access roads and we had to drive on the grass to enter our pull thru site. Fresh gravel had just been put down making us worry about getting stuck but we were fine. Utilities worked well and there is a freshly painted bathhouse/office located on the property. Payment is by check or cash with an Escapees discount available. Owner is friendly and helpful. Campground is located on a working farm but smells are not an issue as the campground is up on a hill away from the livestock area. Views are beautiful. We would stay here again. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

No nearby diesel that we could find. Tamarack is located at the Beckley Travel Plaza about 20 miles toward the West. Nice restaurant and WV crafts. Diesel is available at the travel plaza.

This campground was a perfect, no amenities, overnight stop. The campground host met us when we arrived and guided us into our pull-through site. The campground is big-rig friendly. All sites were crushed rock, surrounded by nice green grass. All sites have a great view of the surround mountains and valleys. There was some highway noise, but not loud enough to be an issue. We will stay here again. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access just off the highway with some road noise, this park offers a convenient overnight. The interior road is gravel, sites or grassy gravel, and pull-through is an available option as long as the meadow is firm enough to drive through when leaving. Basic utilities worked well, AT&T phone and data reception was good, restrooms were clean, no shade meant satellite reception was good. There are no activities at the park but the friendly and helpful host provides suggestions for the area. The price reflects the Escapee discount. We would stay here again. We found this RV park on the Allstays iPhone app. We were looking for a place to quickly and easily park and overnight. A great find!!! If you are driving thru and need a safe and easy place to stay, stop here. Perfect mix of beauty and ease. Easy access from I-64 at exit 150 (Dawson). Close to the highway, but the road noise is minimal. To find it, enter the coordinates N37.51.019 W080.43.323 into your GPS or find the nearby Exxon at 2623 Lawn Rd in Grassy Meadows. We gassed up at the Exxon at the exit 150, drove 100 yards down the frontage road and turned in to the campground. Twenty five feet into the campground. The helpful host was already out to greet us. Parked, registered and hooked up in 10 minutes. Level sites, beautiful views (even with the highway...). I went for a nice run before dark, down the frontage road. Oh, and the dog says she loved all the freshly mowed grass! We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Travel Trailer.

Located just off I-64, this is a good spot to overnight. Can't complain about the power or water, minimal noise from the interstate. Owners seem to be making improvements on the property. Super friendly camp host. Cash or personal checks preferred, not even sure if they accept plastic. We will definitely stop here again. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

A great campground for an overnight stay with a beautiful view. As previously mentioned, it could be tricky if the grass is wet. There is only one 50 amp connection available. Extremely nice work camper who manages the property. I would love to stay here again. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.
