We stay at Summer Wind when we are visiting family in the area. The camping host is a gem! Very professional and always ready to answer your questions. This is basically an overnight stop, but we enjoy it being a quiet and scenic place to relax. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Good stopover park right off the interstate. Long pull through sites. No need to unhook the tow. The sites closest to the office are less level than the sites in the middle of the campground. No shade on any sites making satellite access good. Wifi okay. Clean facilities. We will stay here again in our Motorhome. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

This park is literally right off the interstate easy on and easy off. The pull thru sites are long and reasonably level. The object is easy stop for overnight but the view of the pastures below the hill and hills in the distant are great We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

This is a convenient place to stop for one night if traveling along I-64. Site was graveled and fairly level. We were greeted by the owner who guided us to the site and was very friendly. Internet was good, scenery was beautiful! We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

A camp host makes all the difference in the world. He went above and beyond in helping us after we came in late, due to a flat tire (5"bolt pushed thru sidewall). Beautiful, best water, easy pull through, hookups etc. Easy freeway access. Highway traffic barely heard. Took beautiful walks on rolling hills. Wish we could have stayed at week. One of the Best!! We will be back. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This little park is right beside the interstate, making a great overnight stop. We were rolling through and needed a place to plug in, since the temp was pretty hot. The manager met us at the gate, which was just a short 1/4 mile off of the interstate. Easy pull through with full hookups and plenty of room to keep the toad connected. We only hooked up to the 50 amp power. The site was level. The grounds were clean and well kept. Although close to the interstate, we noticed no road noise, but we tend to tune that out anyway. No trains. Great 5 bar verizon. Great Satellite and several channels on the TV. No trees, open terrain. Sites were close, but adequate without any difficulty. For an overnight, this was just great. We stayed here in a 39' motorhome with a toad. It was very easy to get in and just as easy to get out. We often pass through I64 and need an overnight. We will definitely visit again. No other amenities that we noticed, but we also didn't look. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Nice small, quiet campground right off the interstate 64. Excellent for an overnighter. Restrooms and showers were clean but old. No cable but you have local channels. Suggest you call ahead of time for reservations as it only has 10 full service sites and they appear to fill up early. Service checking in was outstanding as this is only the second campground that the manager meet us and showed us the site before we paid for later, that we have stay at. Highly recommend this little jewel of a campground. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Great place for an overnight stay just east of Sandstone Mountain. Pretty view of the pasture and the New River Valley. Gravel pull through site was perfect for an overnight. The host came to meet us when we pulled in, and was super friendly. Good WIFI, good Verizon, and a couple of TV channels. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This little gem, which we found a few years ago using AllStays Camp and RV app, is the perfect distance from "home" if we've made a long pull and just want to rest before the last 3 hours Eastbound. OR if we get a late start headed Westbound and want to get some miles before we push for the Far West.

Lots are very close with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface is gravel. Sewer connection is clean and well maintained.

This is Exit 150 on I-64. Don't miss Tamarack at Exit 45 in WV, just a short way to the West.

Other reviews aptly describe what a NICE option this is for a quick overnight with FHU. We've come back over and over, and will stay again. The mist over the mountains is sublime. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The dining room is run by The Greenbrier, and is our favorite spot for a snack on the road. Easy access for diesel fuel at the stations. If Eastbound, easy access diesel fuel is at Exit 16 in VA, Covington.

Convenient to interstate but very quiet. Grounds are very well maintained - campsites are level - management is extremely nice. When I called, the manager said he would be looking for us and greeted us at the gate. This is a great place to stop for the night and we would stay again if we are every passing thru. My husband and I agree, the bathrooms could use a little more cleaning. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

A nice, little gem of a campground. The camp host greets everyone coming in the park. Advertised for "overnight camping" mainly because there is nothing near for miles around. A local convenience store doesn't sell diesel. Roads are gravel. No trees so no overhead obstacles, great for satellite antennas. Sites are gravel, long, pull-through with a couple of back-ins in the grass. Utilities are mid-rig, all are FHU-20/30/50. Water pressure isn't very high but usable and tastes okay. No store. Restrooms/showers are dated, given a "B" for cleanliness. No propane or amenities (pool, spa, game room, etc). Free Wi-fi. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This lovely, small park is perfect for an overnight stay just off of I-64 exit 150. The campsites are located along the top of a hill with gorgeous views on all sides of the surrounding mountains. Down the hill are pastures with cattle dotting the glen down below. Very serene. Camp host, Russ, was very helpful and informative. The utilities are easy to reach and work well. The wifi is strong. Most sites are level (hard to come by in the mountains). You can see a piece of I-64 coming from behind a hill, and if you sleep with the windows open you can hear the shushing sound of traffic going by. Not loud or intrusive. We will stay here again if we are passing through. A good bet for a stop. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

This park is a little jewel. Clean, neat, well run. It's not particularly close to anything, but the park is a peaceful, clean, and accommodating stop-over. No pool, no shuffleboard...but nice people, beautiful view. We were there to ride the Greenbriar River Trail...but we'll return there just to enjoy setting. We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Excellent park for either a quick overnight stop or longer. Park host is super. The park overlooks a tranquil pasture scene with excellent morning and evening views. Internet access is very good as are the cell phone signals. Great base to visit White Sulphur Springs as well as Cass Scenic Railway and New River Gorge. Strongly recommended, easy access for big rigs!! We camped at Summer Wind R.V. Park in a Motorhome.

Small family owned campground at exit 150 on I64. Well maintained grounds, no store but there is one about 200 yards from entrance. Manager Russ was very friendly. Has both 30 and 50 amp service, about 5 channels on antenae. Free WiFi. Will stay again when in the area. Great spot for overnight. Stayed in a Motorhome. We camped at Summer Wind R.V.
