We spent one night. Only a half mile from Hwy 19. Looks like a nice campground with a mix of cabins, campers, and tents. The attendant was very friendly. He greeted us when we pulled in and then escorted us to the only pull-through site they have. No problem getting clear line of sight for satellite. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We found this place on the Internet and we stayed there four nights The place is very clean and the owners and their family are very friendly. They were always there to help with any Questions we might've had we did not have any problems with our site Our site was very spacious and there was plenty of room to pull my fifth wheel in and out of the campsite We had a gravel site and it was level but a little soft The owner help with some boards so my fifth wheel would be level When were there the owners are making improvements by painting their office I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone who wants a nice quiet clean friendly place to stay If we ever get by there again we will definitely stay there We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent a month here ($750 + tax). Owners/host family may be new to owning a campground but they are excellent at welcoming guests to their "home". They were always available to answer questions or help out. Improvements have been made and continue since buying. They know the area and recommended places to visit. The younger son was our dog sitter several times. With bad weather in forecast they suggested we park our motorcycles in the pavillion. Rifrafters was the best place we've stayed and wouldn't stay anywhere else when we go back to West Virginia. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Mixed use Campground: tents, cabins and R.V. spots. New owners, many upgrades being made. Convenient to atv trails, white water and New River Gorge Bridge (2miles). Scenic. Restrooms are rustic; cinder block, short commodes, no air conditioning. Set up presents thoughtful solutions: our pad (#23) was not concrete but gravel which had not settled in yet; hence soft. Looked at many pads, both gravel and concrete and leveling side-to-side required on many, for sure on ours. Spacious though, we left our truck connected since we were just here for one night. Would stay here again, but just a notch above average overall. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

My husband and I visited the Fayetteville, WV, area with our goal to see the New River Gorge Bridge. During our research for a campground, we discovered Rifrafters Campground was just two miles from the bridge with very reasonable rates. The new owners are very hospitable and accommodating and from the time we arrived at Rifrafters we felt we were a part of their Campground Family. As we backed our 45 foot RV into the site, the owner realized a branch might be in the way and promptly removed it. When our rental car reservation was canceled, the owner offered for their son to take us to the Bridge and give us a tour around the Gorge. The owners also invited us to take a 1.5 mile walk with their family to enjoy spectacular views of the Gorge Bridge. We have traveled cross country putting over 50,000 miles on our RVs and highly recommend camping with Rifrafters Campground should you find yourself in the Fayetteville, WV area! We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in site #20 (the only pull thru) which was a cement pad with loose limestone on either end (the pad was above the limestone). Even with about 2" of wood under the low side, we weren't quite level. This is a very nice small campground, and the owner is very helpful - I think he worked harder than I did to get us set up. Looks like they are making a lot of improvements and I would stay here again, albeit it isn't the easiest place to get to from I-77 south. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I like this park. It has a lot of trees, and it has more of a feel of nature than other parks. The map of the campground is very poor and hand-drawn, not a good representation what is actually on the ground. The roads and turns were plenty wide enough for our 24' and toad. Arrive at a decent hour, and they will guide you to your site. They say they have cable TV, but ours didn't work. Our site was fairly level and large enough to leave my tow connected. I would stay here again. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Motorhome.

Funky mix of RV sites, tent sites and cabins. None of the spaces are numbered. The (owner, builder, camp host) escorts you to the campsite he picks for you. A little pricey @ $40. We (43') only fit in one campsite and it turned out to be pretty great: completely shaded, private and very spacious. Good WIFI and great cable, but only 30 amp. The sewer connection actually ran a little up hill, so dumping took a little work but turned out ok. Very good water, I refilled our tank. Great showers, no laundry. Needs more gravel everywhere, but he knows that.

The owner is fascinating to talk to. We'd gladly return. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

C&O Laundry in Oak Hill is good. Dog groomers in Petsmart are good. Walmart and Kroger close by. Secret Sandwich Shop serves great fries and cheap wine and beers. Their sandwiches are not run-of-the-mill and looked huge. New River Gorge Bridge is worth a visit. Next time we will take raft trip and tour coal mining sites.

Great location in a beautiful area. Small park without many amenities. Quiet. Friendly owners. No pool or playground. Has a clean, modern bathhouse. Lots of trees. Only problem was an uneven concrete pad, and we had to hook up our camper to the tow vehicle while standing in a big puddle from the previous night's rain. Most campsites were very large. We would stay here again. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Friendly and helpful camp host. Small campground but very near New River Gorge attractions. Quiet at night. Saw several big rigs but may need to check with camp host to ensure your unit can get in the available spots. Entry road is a little steep but should not cause a problem for most rigs. $40/night was rate, seemed a little high but not sure what the other local campgrounds were charging. Cable TV worked great, but need to check since a few sites don't have cable at the site. Good shade for most sites. WiFi worked OK some of time. We usually used our smartphone hot spot for internet access. Most sites are back-in. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small campground very near the New River Gorge. All sites were filled on Memorial Day weekend, so it was noisy with lots of children. There is good water pressure in the bath house with nice shower heads. Our site did not get the advertised wi-fi, but temporarily parking near the bath house gave good wi-fi signal. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Motorhome.

It all depends on what you're looking for. Want a nice quiet place to come back to for the evening after rafting, hiking, and sightseeing? This is the place. Want a place with a lot of activities for kids to keep them busy? Not the place. That being said, we wanted the former so we loved it. It's a small, quaint campground that is very clean with good sized, level sites. Full hook-up with cable (cable not working well while we were there but the owner was working on it). Nice and peaceful in the evening time with little light pollution so one could star gaze. The owner is a really nice guy and really enjoyed talking to him. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. We'll definitely return. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a simple but nice little campground. If you need a place to stay while you visit the New River Gorge park, this is it. There is not a lot to do at the campground. There is no playground, pool, or any other activities. This park does have clean tiled bathrooms and is far enough from the highway(19) that you can sleep peacefully. If we come back to this area we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I stayed at Rifrafters over Labor Day weekend with fellow club-members. The campground was nearly full. The campground owners are super nice and very helpful. Bathrooms were spotless even over a holiday weekend. RV sites are level and several are well shaded. Our group used the pavilion for a communal dinner one evening. We did have to share with another group that was camped nearby. I think both groups made some new friends. The entrance to this campground is a bit intimidating as it is rather steep, but none of the RVs seems to have a problem. We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground. Lots of trees provide shade (and some sap). Bathrooms are newly remodeled and spotless. Hand soap provided at the sinks. Owners are friendly and helpful. My FHU site was a concrete pad that I backed into easily. The road back to the tent sites was a pleasant walk for my dogs. I planned to stay 4 nights and due to a breakdown had to stay 6. I will definitely be back if my trailer ever gets fixed! We camped at Rifrafters Campground in a Travel Trailer.
