We needed a place for one night on our way to Florida. Nahkeeta provided us with a basic pull through site, but there is not much to recommend it. There was significant road noise. The 50 amp service kept tripping our surge guard. We probably would not stay here again. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

This campground is basically an open field, but a very nice open field at that. Sites were grassy but on a slight slope. Roads were gravel. There are no bathrooms, picnic tables or fire rings. It is a no-frills kind of place, good for an overnight stay but not all that convenient being 4 miles or so from Interstate 81. I did appreciate the spacious, open sites and the price is right. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

Arrived and went to office but no one there. The male owner walked over and waved us over to the camping area. Unknown to us, his daughter who manages it had left a phone message with our site number, but not hearing the message or seeing a site flyer on the office wall, we just chose our site and set up. My mistake. Fortunately we did not have to move. So check your phone as you drive in to see where you are supposed to be. Also, watch your voltages- we saw some large differences between L1 vs L2 and our power management system protected us 3 times. I shared that observation with the manager. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

This was a one night stay for us. It's really a hayfield with undefined sites in two loops. There are no showers or buildings of kind except for a half finished cinder block barn with no roof full of junk. The office is an old Air Stream and the owners and members of their family live on site in older campers. It is next to 4 lane highway and an airport so there is quite a bit of noise. Lots of permanent residents with lots of junk. Was a bit scary at first glance but people were very nice. The good part is the utilities are in good repair and the site was level and a pull through. It is close to several towns and a nice bike path. Owner is nice but difficult to get ahold of. Just left a message and she called back. Other members of family were nice too. This is a good place for a overnight. We will stay again. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

For a commercial RV park this is about as spartan as they come. Basically an open grass field with 50 amp FHU's but no other facilities, no cable or wifi, no picnic table or fire ring. Water pressure very low. Good interior narrow gravel roads. Sites are level on grass with some stone support. No trees so was able to access satellite. Office (an old RV) by some dilapidated buildings is rarely staffed but got call the day before arrival on site assigned. Way over priced for just a back-in FHU site. We stayed here for several days but would not come back if in the area again. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

This bear-bones campground is a multi-acre area in which all kinds of RVs are found, from the newest 45-footer to abandoned, rusty trailers overcome by growth. There are no picnic tables, showers, fire rings or screw threads on the sewer pipes. Water pressure was low. Credit cards are now accepted. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

Campground is convenient to Harper's Ferry of John Brown fame and the Antietam battlefield. A Chesapeake & Ohio barge tow path made for a charming bike ride along the Potomac.

This is a Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde experience. Even with the cons we'll stay again because it's what we need where we need it. Pros: Exactly right for a quick one night stop. Reasonable rate. Close to 81. *In general* the grounds were mowed and tidy, and wide open (it's a field), not crowded. Full hookups. There's actually a long (town) greenway accessible from the front of this campground which was a pleasant surprise. Easy in and out (whole site is spacious and flat). Cons: There's a junky area (literal junk) right when you come in. Don't know what that's about. And it's contained to that spot. But besides being aesthetically bothersome it didn't actually affect what we were there for. No shade. The water valve leaked at our particular spot so we turned it on/off as we used it. Not ideal but not unusable either. Management isn't actually in the little office. But if you call or email you can make contact. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

Grass field with randomly placed hookups. NO frills. RIGHT on the freeway, although it did not keep us awake at all. Nice owner. A few full time people. Lots of one nighters and is actually a good place for one night. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

We did not leave the site. There were several others who came for just one night and said they always used this for an over nighter on their way to and from North to South. We would stay again.

My review is not with staying here as due to a family emergency I was unable to. This is about the excellent customer support that they provided. We had made the reservation about 5 PM the evening before. At about 10 PM we found about the family emergency that had us change our plans. Even though they have a no cancellation policy that is say more than 24 hours, they fully refunded our complete amount. This is customer service at it's best. I will be back through this area again and will stay with them every chance I get. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

If you want playgrounds and swimming pools, this is not the place. If you are looking for a great spot to call "base" and use your time visiting the many historic places nearby, then this is a fine campground. Great freeway access, close to level spots, plenty of room to move around, not stacked with your neighbors slide-out almost touching your patio awning. Plenty of shopping nearby. restaurants, Harpers Ferry, even a casino. Good water, electric, and sewer. Just no "amusements". We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

This is a no frills campground. The sites are reasonably level and have water, electric, and sewer hook-ups. The water pressure is it great. There is no bathhouse... No toilets or showers. Most sites do not have a picnic table. There are no trees/shade near the sites. The campground is located just off a main highway, so there is some road noise, but it's not too bad. Overall, the campground is reasonably clean and well kept, but there are some junky areas. For the price, this campground isn't bad, but don't expect much more than a place to park & hookup. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very utilitarian campground. The owner (a former UK citizen) inherited the farm from her grandfather and turned it into a campground. Campsites are very spacious. Hookups (30 amp, water, and sewer) worked well although the water pressure was very low. There is no wifi and cell phone didn't work in the site either. There are no amenities here. This site is convenient to all the major attractions in the area. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

To me this is almost the perfect campground. It's no frills sites on grass with full hookup. I'd have rated it higher, but the water pressure is poor. I used my on board tank and water pump while staying there. It's location is great - close to Martinsburg, Antietim Battlefield, Manassas Battlefield, Harper's Ferry, Shephardstown and an easy day trip to Gettysburg. Easy access to I-81. I'd certainly return if in the area again. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed just one night. Very basic campground, we had a level parking spot and could drive in and out without difficulty. The owner was very friendly. He met us and led us to our site. We followed him as he stopped at several sites then decided to take us to another. Finally settled on one near the highest area of the park. It was a nice location. We were pretty much in a field with utilities. That describes the whole park. Nearest site was 50 feet away. Payment is cash or check, no credit cards. The campground can be seen from Highway 9 traveling south from Martinsburg. Take the next turn-off to the south, two left turns and the road ends in the campground. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited Harper's Ferry National Park and enjoyed seeing the area. We arrived late in the afternoon and were able to visit several buildings before closing. We enjoyed walking around the old town and peering in windows. We walked some of the trails and enjoyed the beautiful views of the Shenandoah and Potomic Rivers. We would have returned but the next day it rained so we moved on.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground due to convenience (location for a family event). Price $30 a night (no credit cards, only cash or check). Here is the run down: Positives are as follows: • Price - $30 a night – for electric/water & sewer (can’t beat the price) • Location – 10 minutes from Martinsburg, from interstate 81. • Big pull through sites • Staff – very friendly – we liked the manager a lot – when our A/C kicked off due to heat, and we had to leave the campground for our family event, and he agreed to stop by our camper to make sure the A/C kept running since we had 2 dogs in the camper. • There is a small stream behind the campground – I think they call it Opequon river. The water looked clean and flowing nicely and you can walk under the new route 9 bridge, but I can’t see anyone fishing from the river banks - they are too high and the water seemed too shallow. I wish we could have heard it at the camper – it would have been soothing. Negatives: • No swimming pool • No playground • No cable • No Wi-Fi • Several permanent trailers but no one bothers you and the staff tries to move you to a non-residential section. I think it is a lot of space for a 40 site campground – surprisingly – we had a huge yard area. • No bathhouse, you will need to use your own camper for showers and bathroom. They have something being built that looked like a bathhouse but it was not done. • Right beside new interstate 9 east/west and you hear the traffic when you are outside the camper, and even inside if a tractor trailer or emergency vehicle passes. • If you like scenery and nice landscape at your campground, this also might not be your cup of tea because they have equipment lying around the building under construction. Bottom-Line: • We would stay again, due to location and price and staff. It is more of a one-night stand to pull into if you need to stay overnight somewhere when you are tired. • Also, it is a little hard to find. Take the exit off the NEW route 9 for Opequon LANE (it is important that you look for LANE on MapQuest, not “road” or “drive” because MapQuest will take you to some God awful location if you look for a “drive” or “road”. • When we stayed, Friday and Saturday (last weekend in June 2012) a tornado hit Martinsburg, WV and our camper had the electric awning ripped completely off. This was of NO fault of the campground, but I think being out in the open field like environment didn’t help when the 85 mph wind rolled over the bridge and up to our camper. We were not there when it happened or we would have rolled our awning in before the storm. The manager cleaned the down trees up very quickly. They do try to keep it a fairly decent place. • Lastly – this campground is NOT that bad, so I hope that is not the picture I have painted. This is not really a place to have your summer vacation, however, they need to advertise more – a website, add some pictures of the BIG sites, advertise price and location and then once the bathhouse is in, perhaps invest in a pool and I think business would improve drastically. Again – we would stay again, probably next year for the next family gathering. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Travel Trailer.
