We have a grassy site with a cement patio. Unfortunately there were lots of puddles because it has rained all day. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful hidden gem in West Virginia. Owner are real friendly, knows the area, refers you to business in their guide and great things to do in the area. Staff friendly and takes you to your site. You can tell by the upgrades the owner is putting back in the campground. By far the nicest restroom anywhere. I'll be back next year. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Blenko Glass a must visit.

We stayed at this KOA last year and enjoyed it so much that we decided to return this year on our way back to Florida. I have to admit, the first time through we enjoyed it so much more than the second time around.
The campground is located on Route 60, just off of the I-64 interstate in Milton, WV. Foxfire Road leading into the park off of Route 60 is a tight turn if you are heading eastbound, and can easily be missed if heading westbound as Foxfire is on the south side of the road, so use caution when approaching Foxfire Road from either direction. The park consists of approximately 120 sites offering RV sites, tent sites, and cabins/lodges. The majority of the RV sites are pull-through, with the exception of the ones around the perimeter, which are back-in. Although there were plenty of empty sites within the park when we arrived, we were sandwiched between two other RV's. People that we spoke to within our area noted that they too were sandwiched in and didn't understand why they didn't space people out more as they weren't full. Amenities offered at the campground include family restrooms, shower facilities, laundry room, restrooms, LP gas, pet walk, playground, horseshoes, lake for swimming, cable TV (70 stations), catch and release pond, fire ring, and picnic table. Wi-Fi is available as well, but they were having problems with their service, so we had difficulty in connecting. We stayed here for2-nights in a 40' Class A motor coach and would stay again on our way through the area. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

Someone already mentioned the extremely tight right-hand turn into the park. Big-rig owners need to be careful. Owner friendly; he escorted us to our site. Super-clean bathrooms even though park was full due to Halloween weekend events. Paved roads were tight due to park being full. Gravel sites. Our site was level. Cable TV only on select sites. No problem because numerous channels are available over the air. Park has wi-fi. Overall a great place to stay. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here to get off the road for the night between two long travel days. It is between two exits on the interstate, and we saw many other rigs pull in at the end of the day as well. They have lots of activities for folks who stay for a while, and a central grass/gravel areas for those of us who just need a spot to spend the night. By bedtime that area was mostly full. The grass area is near to an internet hotspot, so we had good internet. Our full-service site was level. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground. It is clean and has an excellent staff. There is a lake with inflatable slides and jumps. The sites are level and roads are crushed stone. The water, sewer, electric, and cable TV are great. The wifi is poor. I would stay here again. The only draw back is the tight spaces for the sites. You are very close to you neighbor. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Travel Trailer.

What a nice campground. We were sorry we only had one night to spend here. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more accomodating. The grounds were spotless. Our gravel pull-through site was level with all utility hookups readily accessible. The electrical current was strong and steady. Water pressure was good. Using my WiFi repeater we had a good, robust signal. All in all we enjoyed a wonderful stay here. We will return. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

A very "kid friendly" park. Nice swimming beach.

You can tell a lot about a campground by its owners. You realize some take pride in their grounds, and others do not. We really enjoyed this campground. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. The campground has a lovely general store. A majority of the campground has great shade. Some of the sites use the same pedestal and thus you can end up a bit close to each other. The way they solve that issue is the adjoining RV's pull in in opposite directions so your utilities are on the correct side. The sites were level and the ones we were staying in were grassy. The owners needed to put some gravel down in spots because they had had an enormous amount of rain in the recent days. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

If you look at the website it tells you about the sharp turn. I had forgotten but still managed to easily turn in. My kids loved the gem mine and trampoline in the swimming pond. Was large enough for me to make a loop and run 2.5 miles. We stayed in site 24 which is very flat. We did stay after a boatload of rain. Sites were wet (had been raining for 3 days) but we had no problems getting in and out. Good size dog park. Staff are fantastic! Stayed here in a 40' motorhome. Professional Staff, easy check-in, good escort to site, grounds are clean/nice. We were sited in a small RV/tent site, which was nice. Picnic table and fire ring were in a small separate area about 1/2 the length of site and surrounded with 8x8 inch lumber and filled in with gravel - this made for safety as little ones were prevented from accidentally walking to fire ring. Then next along the length of site was a separate area for tents which was also surrounded with same lumber, only was filled with small well draining smooth gravel. The driveway area for RVs worked great for us in our small RV. Family shower/restrooms were nice and large. Laundry room was nice and machines appeared to be new ones. We spent two nights here and were not bothered by the freeway noise and found this place a delight to stay. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Upon departing we drove into Milton to see the Blenko Glass Company Visitor Center. It is a delightful place to browse and pick up glassware. Did not go out to eat, so cannot comment on that.

After a decent experience a couple years ago, this overnight stay left much to be desired. Good : Very nice office staff and clean bathhouses. Bad : $43 / night for an off-season stay in an unlevel site consisting of mud and calf-high weeds is a ripoff. Hopefully the owners spend some of my money on gravel for the sites. We will not return.

Follow online directions for those with a big rig. The entrance turn coming from the east is a tight 180 degree turn. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA, we use them when we have to. It was difficult to find their drive way coming from the west after dark. We drove to the sign but by then you have gone past the drive way and have to drive to the next town to find a place to turn around. If you are coming from the east just drive past the sign and turn in but be careful as it's almost a 180 degree right turn and down a ramp. Our site was very wet and muddy but no problem getting in or out. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a nice KOA campground right outside of Huntington. Small catch and release pond and swimming beach with a lot of water toys for the family, including a large inner-tube trampoline. Sites are gravel and grass and fairly uneven, used half the levelers and remained hooked up since it was an overnight stop. Hook-ups are in good condition but the sewer was a bit of a stretch and in an odd spot in our pull-through. The store was extremely well stocked and the staff was just as friendly. Escorted to our site and offered assistance if needed. Tight turn getting in but would stay here again if passing through. Wi-Fi was about as fast as I have seen in an RV park, pushing 10 Mbps. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Travel Trailer.

A family oriented campground, which becomes apparent the moment you approach the main gate with the pond, the pool, and kids everywhere. Lots of congestion and lack of privacy with sites close together, limited space for vehicle parking and tight roadways. For a multi-family or group gathering with young families, this place may be great. But it certainly did not meet our desire for space, privacy, and peacefulness. We would not return. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

Fantastic little place! Yes it is close to the road and you can hear the road noise; but that's the price you pay for convenience. At night, the "night sounds" drown it out. I sat outside under a huge tree and watched deer nibble about in the field amidst the fire flies...magical. Loads of lovely trees and grass. Yes, it's been there awhile, but it is nicely kept. The cabins are all along a very pretty little pond (not for swimming), and there is a swimming hole for the kiddos with loads of floaties. No more murky than most ponds I've seen. Staff is friendly and helpful. They could use a folding table in the laundry room. That's about all I could fault them for. The difficulty of the turn in is highly over-rated. I'm a middle aged woman hauling a 23' travel trailer with no particular skill and it was easy. Go slow. If you're going fast you deserve to have problems with the turn. It is easy to miss the first time, but go just .1 miles on down the road and there are loads of easy places to turn around. I have made something of a ritual of missing the campground driveways the first time. I'm sure I'm not alone there. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Travel Trailer.
