This is a fairly nice park, once you pass through the area of rundown mobile homes prior to the entrance, as mentioned previously. It is located about 30 miles from Romney, WV, where the Potomac Eagle train trip originates. It's about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the beautiful Blackwater Falls State Park. The full hookups include strong water and 50 amp service. Sites have fire pits, but no picnic tables, and they do sell firewood at the office. The Verizon signal was very weak, so we were thankful for the fast and reliable Wi-Fi they provided. Most of the short-term sites are on a level, gravel lot with good spacing between sites. There are a lot of permanent dwellers here, but their lots are clean and nicely landscaped. There is a nice walking trails that circles the campground and goes down by the river. Roads in the park are gravel, and there was a very low-hanging tree at the entrance that needed to be trimmed. I mentioned this to the manager and he claimed the state needs to cut it and should be out soon to do it. We were very busy on this stop and did not get a chance to check out the bathrooms or showers. Grocery stores and the nicest laundromat I've ever used can be found in the town of Moorefield, which is about 6 miles away. The staff was friendly and helpful. The remote location made this a very quiet place to stay. We camped at Riverside Cabins & RV Park in a Motorhome.

A little out of town. Semi nice drive along the river. At the end of the road, prior to the RV park, a lot of run down mobile homes. Rather scary looking, but no problems. In hindsight, wish we had stayed in town at Wal-Mart. I would not stay again. We camped at Riverside Cabins & RV Park in a Motorhome.
