This is a city/county park that houses mostly full time residents (I do not understand why local governments allow this!). Many RVs have underpinning, decks, and rotten tires. The manager was the friendliest I have ever dealt with in hundreds of parks...she was wonderful. However, the bathrooms were so old, run down and grimy that we were hesitant to use them. Our site was level and shady, but we could not get satellite (space #2). Trains were infrequent but the trailer park next to the RV park had a lot of loud vehicles and even had a generator running all day, which was quite loud if you like to sit outside. We camped at Krodel Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can ride bikes to downtown Point Pleasant if you're willing to ride a short distance on the main road into town. The Mothman Museum is there, as well as a navy recruitment poster museum and river museum. There is a nice hike/bike trail along the river as well, behind the flood wall, and there are painted murals along the flood wall that depict some of the local history.

Great park and excellent value. Very clean and tidy. Camp hosts are very helpful and friendly. The sites are a little to close, but overall great place to stay. There are many locals staying here for the summer and all of them keep their places very tidy and clean. We would stay here again. We camped at Krodel Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

$18 per night ($108 weekly rate for senior citizens) was for a level-concrete-runners with full hookups site. Be warned about the high water pressure! There are train tracks nearby but the trains come infrequently and did not annoy us at all during our week long stay. The surrounding area was tiny but grassy with a wooden picnic table. They did bring us an auto tire wheel so we could have a campfire. The campground was loaded with many permanent residents (all friendly) as well as plenty of huge Norway spruce around the perimeter, other trees throughout the campground, and many Canada geese and their goslings roaming about. The night sky is dark so the stars showed up when skies were clear. AT&T service was two bars of 4G LTE and Verizon service was five bars of 4G LTE. We received 13 over-the-air TV stations and many radio stations. We camped at Krodel Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is located within the city limits of Point Pleasant, WV, which is famous as the basis of the book and movie The Mothman Prophesies and the quaint revitalized downtown area. Just across the Ohio River is Galliplois, OH where most any convenience can be found.

This park is a great value for the money. The city has decided to cut down on the "full time" rentals, which has opened up a lot of sites for people who want to vacation there short term. We stayed for five days and had a great time. Everything was clean and nice. I would give it a 10 if it offered a pool and WiFi. There is a lot to do in the area. We camped at Krodel Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two weeks. The campground was full, we just happened upon a cancellation. To be honest, we were a little uncertain about the place because there were a lot of full-timers here, but by the end of our stay, we found them to be very nice and welcoming. They had a nice playground for the kids (a must for us), a very nice lake to walk around/fish, and a small laundromat (it was always in use it seemed). Very clean place, nice managers. It's actually a city park. Managers live in mobile home on site. Records were via a notebook kept by the manager (no fancy computer reservation). I would recommend IF you can "luck" into one of the few available sites. We camped at Krodel Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
