Only Loop C has (13) electric hook-ups, there is no water so you must fill up before you enter. Campsites are paved but most are sloped. Site 36 seemed level. There is 1 shower in each- you have to hold the button down for water, very inconvenient, and it takes a long time for hot water. There is a cold draft that comes in from the vents. Campground hosts were very friendly. You can not see Seneca Rocks from Loop C but you can from the walk-in loop. There are also some pit toilets in the loops, but regular flush in the main bathhouses. The regular rate is $30 for a single site with electric. We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Great campground for hiking and nature trails. The sites were a little small for our 34ft fifth wheel but other than that, it was very private and peaceful. No water hook ups but a water outlet is available to fill the tanks. Dump station available. This is deep in the mountains and there is no cell phone service. We would come back here again. We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed staying at this out of the way campground, but had a few minor issues. First, it was a pain to have to find someone there to check us in/find out the rules on checking in, since we had never camped there before and did not have a reservation. You go to where the directions say to go and then there's a sign that says there is nobody there, go to another loop and find somebody. After a long day of mountain driving it was frustrating. We loved our site, however. Our site, 36, was able to get Directv. No Verizon signal. The site was level. The showers were a bit grimy and had lukewarm water, and the handle had to be pushed constantly for water flow. There is water at various places in the park to fill your tank but the dump station is locked and $7 to use so we didn't use it at this campground. We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A little trail from the group tent camping sites goes to the town and across the highway to an old homestead, the hiking trail to Seneca Rocks observation tower, and the visitor center. On that little trail is a hidden cemetery that is interesting.

We enjoyed our stay in Seneca Rocks RV Resort - part of the Harper's family property. The owner was very friendly, led us to our site and provided many tips for fun local activities. Great sites with plenty of room between campers. Brand new utilities. We had enough room to park our truck next to our camper and still had lots of room to the next site. Our site backed to Seneca Creek. We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The sites here are well spaced with a good layout. There were a few buddy camp sites, as well as pull through. Overall the campground is very tent oriented. We had a back in site that was a little tight, requiring me to pull the hood of the truck under the nose of our 5er to be clear of the road. Satellite reception might be possible with a carryout dish, but no chance with a roof mounted dish in most of the spaces. **This campground is located within the National Radio Quiet Zone, a 13,000 square mile area with severe radio restrictions to protect the Green Bank radio telescope and the Naval observatory. Don't expect cell service, hotspots or ota TV reception here. The nearest 4G signal I found was 20 miles north in Cabins, WV which is also the nearest staffed post office... which closes at 2pm daily. We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Nine miles south of the campground is Gateway Restaurant, which is frequented by the local truckers, an iron clad endorsement to any of us travellers. The Gateway has daily specials and an impressive pie selection, after you finish your plate of down home cooking.

Overall Rating:

The number of "numbered" campsites is only about 38. However, there are other spaces for groups, which would make the number larger than it appears. Great Forest Service campground. This was our first time camping there and we will be going back. Nice back-in sites, kind of close, but all are equipped with fire ring, table and pad for tents or screen rooms. motorhomes, travel trailers or pup tents sit on asphalt. Campground is close to Seneca Rocks and other natural attractions. May be difficult for some to get to, since it is kind of off the beaten path and not close to any large cities or towns. We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here for 3 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. Absolutely stunning scenery, very well laid out campground. We were in Loop C, and as we were there in the middle of the week, had very few neighbors. The last night we were there, the campground was starting to fill up, but although we could see our fellow campers, we didn't feel like we were cramped, due to the layout of the campground. The site sizes are extremely varied, from small tent sites to very large pull throughs. We made non-site specific reservations, and upon our arrival, one of the campground hosts, Peggy, picked a perfect site for us. She and her husband, Dean, are terrific! Everything in the campground is absolutely immaculate. They ride through the campground several times a day, checking in, delivering firewood, and making sure "their campers" are okay and having a good time. The bath houses were in the process of being painted while we were there, and were spotless. There were pretty silk flowers in the ladies side, just a nice touch, I thought. We loved this campground, and will be back! We camped at Seneca Shadows Campground USFS in a Tent.
