2 Parks near Summersville, West Virginia
Jul 2015 - $30.00
This campground sese very heavy use during the summer months due to it's abundant amount of waterfront campsites. It is ideal for someone who wishes to boat on the pristine Summersville Lake.
The sites are basic electric only. Most have 50 amp service and some have shaded areas. We have stayed here several times in the past in different loops and have found that the spacing is adequate and the sites are good and level.
Reservations are extremely difficult to get at this campground, so you just have to keep checking back for a site. Overall, it is fairly quiet and is patrolled by the Deputy Sheriff.
My family and friends love this campground and never pass up a chance to stay the weekend. I gave an overall rating of "good" because I think for an "excellent" rating a campground needs to have more utilities at it's sites. - Mordist
May 2015 - $15.00
This is a pleasant COE campground with many sites directly on the lake. Very nice views from nearly all sites, and you can par a boat right at your site if it is lakeside. It does get crowded on weekends, but everyone was well-behaved and not noisy. I liked that the laundry facility had two working washers and two working dryers that cost just 75 cents each! Decent Verizon service. Most campsites were gravel, however the camp roads were paved, although narrow for backing in. - judy_online
Oct 2014 - $24.00
This is a beautiful campground with a park-like setting. We saw lots of wildlife, some in our site. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There was no WiFi, but our Verizon worked OK. We would gladly stay again. - normav

This is a big park. Checking in it was not busy but the girl who helped looked like she could care less. All the roads are loose gravel and to get to the lake side is a rocky dirty road. There was little space to park by beach. The sites we tried were un-level and just driving to site my camper and car got dirtier then it did being on the roads for the 4 weeks prior to getting to this place. We left at crack of dawn. We camp and travel all over the USA mostly state and Fed parks. Its been a long time since I dislike a park, this was one I did not like. It has a weird atmosphere too. - Ed D
Apr 2015 - $31.00
This campground is very Family Friendly. The campground roads are gravel. Most sites are large and level in area's 2 and 4. Area 4 has lakeside as well as lake view sites. About half the sites in area 1 can be somewhat small and unlevel. The have a nice pool and jumping pillow at the camp store area and a playground in each camping area. The private beach on the lake is very nice and also the boat tie up area. - WVRVGrandparents
Sep 2013 - $25.00
Note that the park office closes at 4:00-4:30 PM. Sites were level and the road in is a little hilly and gravel. Go slow! It would be a nice park to just relax and kick back for a few days or if you are in the area for rafting or for sightseeing. Abundant wildlife. No cable and weren't really able to get anything with antenna either. No WiFi. No discounts but the price was reasonable. - plynnlinn001
