We chose this park because of its convenience to the interstate. However, the directions in the KOA guide are very misleading. It states, "take exit 67 and turn right at the stop light". What it neglects to mention is you have to turn left at the stop sign in order to get to the stop light. Luckily there was a truck stop where we could turn around. Check in is at the Day's Inn and was fast and convenient and an escort to the site was offered. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel. Ours was not real level but we didn't unhook and probably could have got more level if we wanted to take the time. The grounds were very clean. There are not a lot of campgrounds in the area open this early in April so we would definitely stay here again when passing through. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $38.00
Stayed here for an overnight. Liked it enough and stayed for two. It is a little difficult to find so be sure to watch for the KOA signs on the street. Our GPS sent us on a crazy round about route. The road down into the site is a little steep, but not a problem. Be sure to check in at the Days Inn desk before heading down. We took advantage of the exercise facility, pool and hot tub in the hotel. The hotel's restaurant was good too. It was nice to be able to walk to dinner.
The Wifi worked well, bathrooms, shower and laundry were clean and fairly new. Plenty of places to walk our dogs. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

While this KOA is in a wooded setting all the sites are in four groupings with all sites closely side by side in each grouping. The utilities all worked well. the sites are gravel and not very level. Wifi was non-existent at our location. Also no TV without a sat dish. The roads are paved but narrow and very winding and hilly. Site cost is expensive for what you get. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Huge property is adjacent but separate from Comfort inn. RV sites appear to be grouped in 4 sections all with plenty of spacing between sites. Campers are entitled to use all Comfort Inn facilities which include pool/hot tub and fitness center. The roads are all paved while the site are gravel. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Tips for other Campers:
You need to register at the Comfort Inn. There is a fairly steep hill to climb but is manageable.
Site was not level but close enough to easily level with lego blocks. Upper camp ground was well kempt with no seasonal sites. Registration at Days Inn was painless. Had a great meal at the Days Inn restaurant. Far enough from the highway to be very quiet. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.
After reading other reviews, we were concerned that this would be a side of a mountain with no chance of leveling. Well, we got lucky. Our site was fairly level needing two layers of 2" X 8" along the right side. Others look a lot worse. The trick to the campgrounds is to ask for a level spot when making reservations. When arriving, you'll have to find a place to pull over and register because there aren't any lanes provided. Check in at the Days Inn counter. Plenty of walking areas for the dogs. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
Flatwoods Outlet Mall is on the opposite side of I-79.

Be aware, this "campground" is located behind a Days Inn Hotel. The staff from the hotel registers you as a guest. Then you are left to your own devices at the campground. It is located on a side hill with a very steep driveway in and down to the sites. The site we had wasn't very level. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Beautiful quiet campground. Four different areas for sites in the park. Most sites are wooded. Roads are paved and the sites are gravel and most need leveling. All utilities worked fine. We would stay again. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Very clean and well maintained park, not your typical KOA. Does not have a store/shop and you check in at the hotel. Sites are tough to level out, expect to use a full set to achieve it. On the side of a mountain and into the valley so you are protected from the interstate noise though as a counter to the uneven sites. No noise from the interstate at all, however the amphitheater may wake late risers if they are setting up for an event. The sites are well maintained and the hook-ups are in great shape. Would rate higher but the wifi is weak and the park is overpriced. Would recommend the COE Campground up the road for anyone coming to stay on the lake for a few days, overnighters this is the best stop, would stay here again if they offered weekly rates. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Travel Trailer.
Beautiful, spacious, clean campground. It is tied to a motel where you check in and can use the amenities. The park includes a 1200 person amphitheater with occasional big name acts. The restrooms are large and clean. The place is hilly and the sites are gravel, but the roads are paved and the grass is green. No store other than the motel and vending machines. Free ice from a large ice maker near the restrooms. I don't know what there is to do in the area other than fish and antique, but the campground is worthy of a multi day stay. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't miss the turn or it's 2 miles to turn around. Very steep entrance to get to the hotel to register. The lower level pull thru sites are not very level. Bring extra wood to level up. Or you may end up with one wheel off the ground. Otherwise, this campground is very nice. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

I would highly recommend this campground for it's cleanliness and easy access. It has excellent access to and from the Interstate. Only downsides there is no cable or parking for registration as you must go inside the motel to register. If in the area again, I will stay here. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
