This is by far our favorite place to camp and to ride. Your riding options are unlimited. Camp ground is always clean, the showers are very roomy and always clean. It is pet friendly, and your sites are spacious. The staff at Ashland are some of the best, always friendly and helpful. This is a campground for riders, you won't be disappointed! - The Carters 28052

The resort is extremely nice and well designed, but made up of mostly camper cabins with a limited number of RV sites. Most are fairly level with good WIFI, electric, water and sewer. Problem is, they don't allow for complete clean up of your ATV/UTV, by limiting you only to flush and clean the radiator at their designated location. The second biggest problem and warning for those with large 5th wheels, toy haulers and Big Rigs (40ft +), is crossing the railroad off the hay 52, onto the approach road to the campground. Our 45ft RV got stuck high center on top of the tracks, only to have a train approaching and the crossing guards come down on the roof of the RV, forcing us to power thru at all cost. Tore off part of the exhaust, and dragging the trailer hitch across the pavement. Our neighbor parked 2 sites down, with their 42 foot 5th wheel, also experienced the same problem crossing the railroad tracks, damaging both of their rear leveling jacks (bent). There is a back way into the CG, but anything over 40ft should pay careful review the switch backs with a climbing and descending turn causing the rear and front to bottom out on the pavement. - Mullet Republic LLC

Great park no problems at all. This is mainly for ATV enthusiasts. It is very remote location in West Virgina mountains located right on the Hatfield- McCoy trail system (Indian Ridge Trail). Make sure to follow directions to campground from their website or you will end of on roads you do not want to be on. They say they have a restaurant 2 miles down the road but it was never open while we were there so bring your own food because nearest Wal-Mart is 20 miles away. - LEE H

Beautiful wooded area in the southern part of WV. Lots, while without water, are deeply shaded in the wooded area. Restrooms/showers can be a hike if you don't get close and water from the shower heads in the women's restroom ran constantly all the time we were here keeping the bathroom floor constantly very wet. VERY few lots would take the big rigs and all wooded lots are a challenge to back into (uphill and turning). Swim area not within walking distance of the camping area, necessitating quite a drive. - cmclark
Aug 2008 - $20.00
We were really disappointed with this WV state park. Most of the electric sites that we could fit in (35'), were quite unlevel and even with blocks and jacks, couldn't level it out. There was a dog at one of the campsites that barked for 4 hours, and nothing was done. There are some nice hiking trails, and a fun golf course. The pool is not close by and they charge $3 a person even if you are staying in the park. We will not go back. - Patti A
May 2005 - $20.00
Though quite remote, this is a very nice, quiet park that's good for families. The campground is several miles away from the main park facilities (lodge, pool, golf course). There's a small playground, and hiking trails are in the campground area itself. Half the sites have electric (30 amp), and there are three pull-through sites. About half the sites are under trees and half in the open. None of the sites have water or sewer, so be prepared to fill up at the campground entrance before going to your site. There's a small playground, and hiking trails are in the campground area itself. Firewood is available at the small campground office/store. We found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. If you want a peaceful vacation, this is it! - ficodek
