We love this park because we usually get a site facing Lake Superior! Tv no good, internet slow. No sewer. However great bike path circles town. Wal-Mart on bike path. Lots of restaurants. Some sites uneven. We still love it! We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.

Clean well kept park. First come for check-in. Fills up by mid PM. Limited 50 Amp fhu, the rest are 30 amp. Dump station is difficult to get into as it is in the parking lot of the boat launch and is on a hill. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.

We called the office about availability - the lady said: "we are really very wide open". So we arrived about noon on a Thursday. We learned they "lady" in the office really doesn't know what is available. The host informed us, that his estimation was: somewhere in the park, 4 sites were unoccupied. He said all the sites would accommodate our 43' motorhome. So we drove around, 2 of the 4 available sites, were too short, 3 of the 4 had only 30 amp. We ended up on the one double site. Luckily we had an extension cord to make our electrical connection. So we talked with our neighbors a couple sites away and learned they were leaving in the morning. So we made plans to move in the morning. Our new site was much better, 50 amp and water. None of the sites have sewer hook ups. Be aware that adjacent to the RV Park is a large Superfund hazardous clean up site, which is active 7 days week and on a few days put off fumes that were rather nasty smelling. The clean up will likely be active for a couple more years. It blocks the Lakeside Walking path, and forces a detour into the town and back to maneuver around the Hazardous cleanup. Certainly not a plus. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.

Nice little City park. Bear in mind, other than monthly reserved sites, the whole park is on a first come first served basis, no reservations taken, and pay by check,or cash in an envelope placed in a secured drop box. Best time to get there is about noon or early afternoon as the place fills up fast in high season.
Nice trail that runs next to the lake for about 3 miles. Visit Bayfield, 17 mile drive. Boat trips to the Apostle Islands are nice. Nice new large casino about 2 miles north of Bayfield.

One final note... The City has a construction project ongoing the rest of 2016 in the lot adjacent (east) to the RV park. Extremely loud backup alarms and construction noise start at 6 AM and continue all day until 5 PM 6 days a week. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Get there early if possible. Drive through the park, and if nothing is available, check the departure dates that are posted on each site post.
If in Bayfield, drive about 2 miles further up the road to the tribal casino, (very large, upscale nice place) and have lunch. Nice buffet for $7.00 that has a great chicken wild rice soup.

This is a small city park. Interior roads are tight due to narrow roads, some large boulders, and RVs with awnings out. It's a one way loop through the campground so backups can occur as people are scouting for a site. Most, if not all, the waterfront sites are taken by monthly renters. It's first come, first serve. Sites have some gravel, dirt and grass and some are not well defined. Our site was just on the side of the road. There is water and electric - some are just 30 amp and some are 30/50 amp. WII FI worked off and on and mostly off. Directv worked fine. Verizon signal was very weak even with our amplifier. Even in town, the signal is not very good. This campground is right on Lake Superior, and they have a boat ramp and small beach area. A bike path runs right by the Lake and you can access it from the campground. You can easily walk, bike or drive downtown. Take a fun afternoon drive to Bayfield. There are tours to the Apostle islands as well as a vibrant downtown. We stayed here in a motorhome and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.

As previously stated... city run campground. Interior roads do have some potholes but they are easy enough to navigate if you heed the 5 MPH speed limit. All of the sites are on packed gravel have plenty of grass and space between sites. All sites are back-ins. Reservations are taken only for monthly stays only. The park did not fill up the entire time we were there. Most RVs show up in the late afternoon. Not all sites have 50 amp service. The dump station is making it al most impossible to completely drain the tanks. The campground was quiet at night. We would come back to this park if we were in the area. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a city park with a playground, picnic tables, and a beach, literally a couple blocks from downtown. There is a fishing pier adjacent to the campground. Locals walk or drive down from their homes to the beach, park, and pier. It is a clean nice place I would bring my family. Food and shopping is near by. There is Internet, (password from the camp host) but I did not use it. All sites are water and electric. Access in and out is good. The dump station is not level. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Nice little park right on Lake Superior. A bit hard to find and access, entrance road goes down a hill through residential area. As mentioned, the construction in the harbor continues 24x7 but we didn't hear much noise. A bit cool and windy when we where there but several sites are right on the water so can sit and watch the waves coming in. We arrived about 1 pm and had our choice of spots right on the water. Place was nearly full by nightfall even though it was mid-October. The view of fall foliage on the hillside across the bay was beautiful. We would stay here again. There is a nice quilt shop a couple of blks away. Visit nearby Bayfield, very quaint. They have sailboats for rent, great dining options. Sail or kayak around the Apostle Islands - they are breathtaking. Take the ferry out to Madeline island, have a drink at Tom's Burned Down Cafe just to say you did...

What a hidden gem. It is a small park located right on the water. It was clean and the hosts were very friendly and informative. It is located adjacent to the city beach. Only spent one night but wished we had more time. It was a great place to relax. Only water and electric with a free dump station but a great value. This city run campground is very close to town. The interior roads are on asphalt and are full of potholes. All of the sites are on weedy packed gravel. Some sites are larger then others and all sites are back-ins. The sites overlooking the lake were taken by monthly renters. Almost all of the sites were taken by 3 P.M. during the middle of the week. Reservations are taken only for monthly stays only. The utility box contained 20/30 amp service. The electrical voltage was a little weak, hovering around 119. The electrical box and water spigot were on the appropriate side. The dump station was located on a sloop, making it hard to drain the tanks properly. The campground has WiFi but we did not use it. Verizon air card and cell phone worked well here. There were 3 showers per sex and you needed the code to use them. The separate bathrooms were for the public as well as for the campers. The showers and bathrooms were clean but not very appealing. We did not use them. There is a camp host onsite. There is a EPA Super Fund project going on next to the campground. This will last at least for 2 years. The only entrance to the park was being worked on while we were there. There was some noise from the construction site but it was not that bad. The campground was quiet at night. We would come back to this park if we were in the area. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

As described by previous posts. Didn't give it a higher score because sites are gravel, no sewer hookups, and not all sites are really level. We barely made leveling out with jacks at site #16 without having to add blocks to keep support under rear tires and jacks. Limited hours for use of showers in morning and evening at least at this time of year. Good Wi-Fi is available at the Great Northern Lakes Visitor Center on Hwy 2 at west end of town and is much better than at the Vaughn library at Main St. and Vaughn. Wal-Mart super center at east end of town on Hwy 2. We had service on our car at the Honda/Toyota dealership and were very satisfied with service and cost. We would definitely return if in the area again. A beautiful spot and a good value We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.

Lovely city RV park next to bay that leads into lake superior, on water, off US2 by Ore Dock. Sits in the shadow of a huge old iron ore dock. interesting but quiet area of state. We camped at Ashland City RV Park (Kreher Park) in a Motorhome.
