We stayed here overnight just prior to the 4th of July weekend. I had actually reserved a site months ago, and was told no deposit needed (cash or check only, no credit cards). On check-in we were greeted warmly by the couple who took over the place about a year ago. Our full hookup site was flat and the utilities worked well. Although it is mostly long term residents, everything is kept neat and clean. The laundry was clean also. Pool looked nice but we did not use it. I would definitely stay here again if passing through the area. Oh I forgot to ask for a Good Sam discount, but still feel we got a good value. We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Motorhome.
The folks who run this park are apparently former RVers who know what is important from the customers point of view. They manage a park that is partly full time residents and a few transient sites. Overall this park is beautifully kept up and our overnight site was first class. The Utilities, EWS, were all new and were easily accessible. We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
A bit difficult to find from the highway. Exit north of town, turn by the Subway, through the business district under the interstate then left on 5th rd.
We were going to set up in a private area, but we got stuck in the sand. They very nicely squeezed us in here...on the July 4th weekend! It's under new ownership and the place looks great compared to the prior owners. The rate includes the Good Sam discount. They recently got an upgraded review by Good Sam's. The owners are great and helpful. It's a nice place to stay if you're visiting friends or family. Make sure you visit the Wood Lake Resort for their Friday fish fry! Our RV is 42' long. We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $28.00
It is more of a dump site than a campground. Tarps covered non-running cars, overflowing trash cans, abandoned sites are still cluttered. Watch out for the sites' firepits which are wheel wells sunk into the ground. You could fall or drive into them easily. When signing in at the bar, it helps if you are a smoker because you'll smell like one when you leave. Use for emergency overnighter if you must. It is more suited for out-of-work permanent "campers." We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Tent Trailer.
Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $28.00
We stayed here one night on our way home. It looked like this campground is for overnighter's or permenant campers. Stay here only as a last resort. We camped here in a 5th Wheel. We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
We use this campground as a home base for the summer. About 60 of the 74 sites are seasonal. There are open sites for overnight or weekend/extended camping. All of the sites are gravel. There is a Bar along with an activity room adjacent to the pool. The owners are friendly and the grounds are kept clean. The campground is open year round but the water at the sites is turned off. The current seasonal rate is $950. We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
