13 RV Parks near Columbus, Wisconsin
Jul 2016 - $22.00
It would have been nice to have water hook up, guess I am spoiled. The park has all asphalt pad that were level. Great over air tv and cell service. The park was very clean and peacefully. I would stay there again. - rving4fun
Jul 2014 - $20.00
This is a very clean, nice county park off the beaten path. It was almost empty the whole time we were here. The spots are spacious, level and easy to back into. The is no water nor sewer connections at the sites. They do have a hose at the entry to fill your fresh water tanks and a dump station to flush the holding tanks when you leave. There was one other camper in the park while we were there during the week. We would come back if in the area. - bones1941
May 2014 - $20.00
Great place for an overnight stop. Our site had two 30-amp connections, but no 50-amp, though there are a few sites with 50-amp, apparently. The sites on the back of the park are not big-rig friendly, but the front and middle sections are fine. There is water near the front gate which can be used to fill your tank. The only water elsewhere in the park is for filling a bucket, and has no hose-fitting. Besides the camp host, we were the only people at the campground (on a Wednesday). - sendthefire
Aug 2010 - $38.00
Nice grounds and a lot to do for the kids between the heated pool and lake with inflatable toys. I would not suggest staying up on the seasonal area if you have a bigger unit. We could not unhook or use the sewer hook-ups in this section in our original site. The office was very helpful in moving us to a open seasonal site, but it was still small as we couldn't get the 5er in there all the way. What would have worked would be a tractor, but not with my truck. The seasonal area was very quiet, and folks in this area very friendly. The buildings were clean and well maintained. Park was nice for the kids. Golf carts need to be parked by 9 PM. We'll go back, but request to be in the more the overnight area down by the lake / pool. - Trevor01
Sep 2007 - $38.00
Very friendly staff. Seasonal campers also very friendly. Very fun activities for children. Also had very nice equipment to play on it the lake. Well kept park! I would return. - audie
Jul 2015 - $22.00
We stayed there a full week and found the camp hosts pleasant and helpful. The park and features were in good shape, the rest rooms and showers clean. 20 and 30 amp electric only. - BaldEagle42
Sep 2014 - $20.00
We stay at this park every summer to visit family in the area. The roads and large sites are paved with nice grassy areas between. Sites have 30 amp electric with fresh water and dump station at park entrance. There is a very clean shower building with flush toilets and showers. The campground is across the street from Beaver Dam Lake with a boat launch and fishing pier. This park is a gem in a peaceful natural setting. Will stay here again and again. - krb
Jul 2012 - $20.00
The sites are large, but you are very close to the road, so you don't have much privacy. Our site backed up to a corn field, which was nice for some extra privacy. The road through the park was a little small, but we got through without much problem. The main problem with the campground was that the electric did not work at our site. We tried everything we could to get it working, but the whole pole - both circuit breakers - were not working. We tried calling several different numbers for help (all of which were listed on the paperwork received with our reservation), at least to try a different site, but no one answered any of the phones. We ended up leaving after the first night and going to another campground. It was very disappointing. - socerbruse
Jun 2016 - $75.00
We stayed June 24 - June 26 in our 26' travel trailer. $158.26 incl. tax for 2 adults & 3 children aged 7, 17, & 17. We stayed on site #1; friends stayed on site #2. I was NOT a happy camper this visit. - No pun intended. THE BAD: Our site was covered & I mean covered in geese feces. Good thing we have dogs & I was able to use their pooper scooper....for a little over AN HOUR! I'd say every 10-12 inches there was a pile. Not even exaggerating! Once our friends arrived we collected quite a bit more for at least another 30-45 minutes each. I'd say together we gathered 8-10 pounds of feces. Again, not making this up. We mentioned something to the office & they said people were coming Saturday morning to clean up. The beach was covered - disgusting! Not even a "sorry for the trouble, can we get you some ice-cream?!" Since we were on site #1 we had seen the maintenance crew arrive Saturday morning. They did one section of the beach area, left, & didn't come back. There was still A LOT left! And they didn't come by our site to clean up, or any others for that matter, just the beach area. They are also using a strobe light system to scare the geese away, but all they did was sit behind our camper. I also think they are being fed because at one point they stayed away from the beach area, but we noticed almost all had their heads down to the ground. At this site we also had a lot of campers walking through our site. Unfortunately our one dog that we recently adopted got anxious each time someone walked through the site, so we had to take him inside. It would have been nice if people walked around. THE GOOD: The pool was spectacularly clean this time. It was also nice seeing the lifeguards watching for height restrictions on the younger water slide riders. Out of the local campgrounds in WI this is our #2 favorite campground, but our #3 overall. We will be back, I just hope the geese are more under control next time. - Candi and Michael WI
May 2016 - $85.00
Be sure to thoroughly question the site you plan to stay on. Some sites have terribly placed trees if you have a large rig. We have a 42' fifth. Plan your path to your site before leaving the gate, some turns are quite tight.
This is a party campground. So if you are looking for quiet, this is not your place. Our river front site actually was quite nice. But again, ask when you call. Plenty of weekend sites do not have shade, but some have really nice large mature trees.
There is a guarantee you will have golf carts buzzing around all day. All of them playing music quite loud.
No garbage bins are placed around the campground. You must drive all your garbage to a somewhat inconvenient location. Particularly if you typically throw out garbage while hooked up and dumping. This park has 2 dump stations which is nice, but one of them you must pull head on to a building and back out.
The pool and water slides were well kept and maintained. The beach pond had a funky smell, taste(don't ask), and color. The weird turquoise color makes you wonder.
Horseshoe, volleyball, baseball areas all look fairly well maintained. The Frisbee golf course was decent. I'm sure not many people play that. The skate park I was really looking forward to, was nothing more than a cracked up, abandoned tennis court. The actual tennis court didn't look much better. Both of which should be taken off their advertisements. The dunk tank I didn't look for but didn't see either. - Magiccowinuse
Aug 2015 - $75.00
This was our 2nd weekend (1st stay was Memorial Day weekend) in 2015 at Riverbend in our 26' travel trailer. We stayed 8/28 & 8/29 - 2 nights $158.26 incl. tax. We stayed on site #6; friends stayed on sites #5 & #4. Loved the little less than busy golf cart traffic that we have seen many times in the past while staying at sites on Pike Dr. (24-27 & 68-70) In the future we will always pick #6. It didn't have any shade, but it was very very spacious! We were a bit further away from the main bath house (which is why we stay on Pike Dr. every time), but the more quiet atmosphere was refreshing. The bath house on Bass drive is not a favorite of mine (many repairs are needed & usually dirty), so I always prefer the bath house next to the store. I did not use their shower facilities this time, but I do know those you do have to bring quarters for. Amenities include pool w/ waterslides, kiddie pool, swimming pond w/ inflatables, jumping pillow, Tiki bar, volleyball courts, bags tournaments, boat launch, mini golf, Friday night karaoke at Benderz Bar N Grill (campground restaurant), Saturday night band, & more. We will most always go back, it's just not my #1. - Candi and Michael WI
Aug 2016 - $42.00
This campground is divided into three areas situated around a mill pond. The area on the north side of the pond appears to be all seasonal. The area on the south side is mostly seasonal with transient sites mixed in. The west side area we stayed in bordered the pond, was all grass with a number of trees and was all transient. It's also close to the office/store and swimming pool. The electric and water configuration is a bit helter skelter in this area and we had to run our water supply under the rig to a spigot shared with the next site over. The power pedestal was nearer but in an odd place too. In fact, the layout seemed deliberately wide open for the placement of most any rig because the site locations weren't clearly defined. Big rigs could have a problem if other neighboring sites fill ahead. Once you get in your spot, you are camping. Only 30amp power is available and voltage stayed between 111 - 118v. Water pressure was adequate around 40 psi. There are no sewered sites and no dump station. They have a honey-wagon to take care of pump-outs for $5. Wi-Fi is available but very finicky. We were able to get a one bar signal for our hotspot which performed better. Cell phone coverage is hit or miss depending on your service provider. Over the air TV station reception was very good with all the network and public channels represented. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The store is well stocked for incidentals you may have forgotten. Donuts and coffee are available to purchase with your Sunday newspaper. The park is family oriented with lots of kids enjoying the pool. Fishing in the mill pond is free for catch & release. While we were there a youngster caught a 30" Northern Pike. Overall we had a good time during our two night stay. Pricing is above average for a park of this caliber but we would come back for a couple nights again, only during the week next time. - Born2Roam
Jun 2016 - $38.00
Owners are extremely friendly. Has a small private pond. We stayed in sites that back right up to the pond - beautiful. But beware of the geese. Have activites every weekend and bakery fresh donuts every sunday morning. The fish boil is delicious. Nice pool. - User3521
Sep 2013 - $35.00
Fun family campground. Quiet and beautiful. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Nice lake to fish in. Many campers are seasonal, so there is a wonderful sense of community here. Had fun playing bingo...and won a little cash, too. Would stay again. - GrandmaLee
Oct 2016 - $18.00
Good county park campground with nice lots, good electric service available, nice walking trails nearby. - Camper Camper
Aug 2011 - $25.00
This park has about 40 spots with about half of them being 30 amp electric. There is a water fill and a dump station. This is "campground" so some of the sites are only appropriate for tent trailers and smaller trailers and motorhomes. There were about a dozen large motorhomes and 5th wheels here while we were here. This park is located adjacent to I-39/90/94 at the junction with US 51. This campground is at the far end of the park so there is no road noise. We had reservations so there was a large site that accommodated our rig nicely. Not all the sites are as level as our site, and the power post is far enough away on some sites that you will need an extension cord. - skigramp
Aug 2009 - $23.00
We gave this park a low grade because there wasn't a fresh water hook up anywhere in the park except at the dump station... and it didn't have a threaded hose bib to connect to your motor home. Half of the sites aren't level but they are spacious with lots of trees. Also the trash is very far from the sites. The bathrooms were old and not too clean. The hosts were very nice and helpful, though. Even with a low rating we would stay here again going cross country. - portecmp
Apr 2017 - $41.00
Easy off and on to freeway. Clean CG. Not crowded at all. Rain all 7 days we were there but the grounds drained off the water pretty good. Good hosts. Easy process to check in. I think all the sites are pull-thru. Gravel and level. Sites would be somewhat close when CG is full. Easy to navigate around the CG with a big rig. - msrebel
Oct 2016 - $38.00
This is a well-managed but charmless KOA. It is very convenient to Hwy.
39 and reasonably close to Madison. (it took us 25-30 minutes) The maintenance is excellent. The sites are arranged in concentric arcs and all sites are full hook-up and pull-through. There is grass between the sites but it's pretty beat up from people driving on all the edges. The office is efficient and there is an ok laundry, a small camp store, and a nice kids' playground. - virginianola
Sep 2016 - $55.00
Sites laid out in an arc, with lots of room between sites, but with the narrow roads you can't help but tow thru the grass when leaving. Good water pressure and wifi, wide open for satellite access. Road noise from the Interstate, but a good place to stay. - The Hilts
May 2017 - $1.00
We stayed free on Armed Forces Weekend. Very nice CG with a nice pod for fishing and swimming. Much of the park is seasonal, but they have several nightly spots as well. The park is not flat but most spots are graded well. Our site had a sewer recepticle that was up slope and barely lower than our drain outlets making it close to not functioning. But we have a smaller/lower riding trailer. We really enjoyed the stay and the Military and Police/Fire ceremony on the last day. The only real down side was some of the other guests. One couple across from us argued all night long, played loud music all day/evening and for some reason, had bright lights lit up on their trailer 24/7. There were a couple other large groups that were loud all evening long but everyone toned it down when quiet hours hit. I just prefer a more peaceful experience. Oh, and I consider the park layout to be what I call "parking lot style" with spots side by side with little room and no privacy between them. For some this is fine, but I prefer a little less noise and nose. Overall, I give it an 8/10. If I take into account that it was free, it would be 9.5/10. - esox07
May 2017 - $47.00
Noisy. Expensive. Limited amenities. No discounts (early season, Good Sam or any other) We camped early season and expected a quiet weekend experience. What we got was a campground full of partiers, loud music, shouting, arguing....obviously plenty of alcohol flowing. The management said they couldn't do anything till 11 pm quiet time, but even then the roar just went down a notch. Management was pleasant but unhelpful. Kids next to us had fun catching some fish in the catch/release pond but the path to the creek was under water so I could not try fishing there. Sites were ungraded gravel and not very level. Roads are gravel and fairly wide and easy to navigate. - Mudpuppy78
Sep 2016 - $47.00
This was our first time staying here and we're glad we did. It was a bit of a drive from Chicago (@ 3-3 1/2 hrs) but was fine for a long weekend (Labor Day). Check in was smooth and the staff was all quite friendly and pleasant. Shared an electric/water box with the site behind us. We both were able to back up enough to not have to use extension cords.
We took part in some of the Labor Day planned activities: volleyball tournament and DJ Dance. WHAT FUN! All of us enjoyed ourselves. My teenage boys liked the swim pond with inflatables and I was able to spend some time using the volleyball net to play badminton with one of my children. A lot of kids around and my older son was able to join a pick-up basketball game.
There aren't a lot of "transient" W/E/S sites but they are level with decent tree cover. Most of the campground is for seasonals and I have to say that I have not been to a campground with such clean and well-kept seasonal sites. Folks take pride in their spots here. We met quite a few seasonal campers and they were all very friendly. The campground is family-oriented and quiet at night. We were far enough from any city that we were able to see the Milky Way and enjoy the night sky.
There's a cute little bar/restaurant on the premises: also very clean and run by friendly cook & bar staff. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it for sure. - EllenT
May 2017 - $34.00
Dirty facilities and poorly maintained sites. Grass was not mowed, and no marked parking pads. But if you park in the "wrong" spot you will be forced to move. Owner was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. - Camping_Family_4_Lenz
May 2016 - $43.00
Positive was the large site. Negative is campsites mingled with mobile homes with sheds and decks. Indoor pool is only open for summer season. Uncut lawns. Poor signage. Overpriced with no commercial discounts. We paid $43 a night for water electric and sewer. No campfire rings. - Happy Trails Camper
Jul 2015 - $41.00
This campground offers no discounts. Up charge for A/C and credit card use. It is a pretty park, but overpriced for water and electric only. Road coming in was gravel and dusty. Nice park to walk around the loops to get some exercise. Nice campsites (small campers) by the Rock River. We had a pretty big rainstorm in the middle of the night. Got moving to leave around 10 AM. The dump station was buried in mud. I had to shovel it out to dump. The road had some pretty big ruts in it that we had to ease through. - Spizzer
May 2016 - $42.00
This is a nice clean park. Spaces are a little close and fairly level. Internet is non-existent and phone service is at best spotty in the campground with ATT. I'm still surprised that CG don't have internet around the area for their customers. My rate is for 3 nights with one free---so approx. $56.oo per day. - illini777
Oct 2015 - $45.00
We have stayed at this park at various times of the year. At all times we have found the staff friendly, courteous, and respectful. That being said, this is a well patrolled park. If you are looking to get drunk, loud and obnoxious this is not your park. If you are looking for a park that is family friendly, respectful - quiet hours are quiet hours, clean, well laid out with plenty of activities. All are welcome from tents to Class A's. Most waterfront sites are easily accessible to all except for some large 5th wheels or Class A's. We will camp here again. - Camping Wisconsin
Jun 2015 - $30.00
Another wonderful stay at this campground....very fine people, and very well run..
We will return again..
Great indoor and outdoor pool
Loads of things to do for kids - hdonlybob
